I had a old gift card that I had received from the North End Boston SOL Optics store which has since closed. I emailed SOL and Elizabeth responded. The GC could not be used on line, however once I found the glasses I wanted Elizabeth tracked them down to Board Stiff (affiliated with SOL). She called the manager of Board Stiff, Burt (who was also great!) and explained the situation. I called Burt, purchased my sunglasses over the phone and they shipped them to me. I am so appreciative of the help and support I received from both Elizabeth and Burt, I had to leave a comment. I 100% recommend both SOL Optics and Board Stiff. I was looking for a particular item and they did not carry it, but the woman I spoke to said they would get it ordered for the store and that it would be in within 7-10 days. Since their nationwide competitor had it on the shelf they ordered a case to have it in stock for everyone. Take a moment to think about how impressive that is. Flip the scenario and but a big box retailer in that position. Would they immediately put an item on their next order from a vendor to stock it in the store? Does the store manager even have that power? Or would they be more likely to direct you to their website? Very few of us will ever run into Bezos at the supermarket, so why line his pockets? Almost all of us will run into Ryan and his staff outside of Mocean, either having fun on the trail, or at an event supporting the community. Keep this in mind when shopping.

When buying my first surfboard I really wanted a short board but the staff suggested I get something a little bigger to fit my ability and make learning easier. I had my heart set on a short board but after talking with them and really understanding the suggestion I ended up with a fun shape that I still have to this day and love! The employee I worked with said "I'll sell you a short board if you really want me too but if you really want to learn to surf and improve quicker get a fun shape" 4 surf boards later and I'm loving it as much as I did when I started in 2013. The entire process couldn't have been easier. I forget the nice soft spoken woman's name that helped us but I can tell you the shop dog's name is Tree. Just took a few minutes to sign the agreement and we were on our way. She pointed us in the right direction to cross the street and in about a minute we were at the bridge pedaling towards the ocean. Fantastic ride and returning the equipment was just as quick. Highly recommend to visitors looking for a little exercise and fresh air!

They have plenty of sales going on, bicycles standard and electronic assisted, survival gear, clothing from all sorts of brands, boots and hiking gear, camping gear, lanterns, knives, paddles, water shoes, and also have deals on traded in gear. Nice experience. Love walking around and looking at stuff i probably don't need but it's a cool tool or utility purposed item.
