First my barber was half asleep cutting my hair. He was full on night mask sleeping in his chair prior to my haircut. Told him wanted a High Bald Fade down to skin. Finger width long in front. None of that happen. No beard line-up as requested, no razor to back of the neck like every other barber does. I had to go home clean up my own neckline. $67 for a mediocre haircut is crazy outrageous. Will not ever recommend this place. They are proud of their prices for service but can go to down the street to knockouts for the same mediocre haircut that is far cheaper. read more

I'm only giving this place one star because I can't give it zero. I had to get a haircut for a job interview and my Normal barber was booked for the day. So after reviewing some on yelp I came across "Boardroom salon for men". So I made an appointment and showed on time and still had to wait. When I got in the chair the stylist was VERY quiet. I didn't even get a "hows your day.". So after telling her what I wanted I sat in silence while she rushed my haircut. When I was done I had to PAY 40$ to cut it. And these are the results. Straggling hairs across my ears, uneven neck line, uneven around the temple area. I didn't notice till after I got home. I will NEVER go back to this place. It looks like HELEN KELLER cut my hair. Not my worst haircut ever, but certainly the worst for the price (not to mention the experience). Came in a few weeks ago prior to an unexpected job interview. The woman cutting my hair seemed to be more annoyed by my requested cut rather than actually cutting my hair, and not so subtlety made this known throughout the process. As well, at one point i was asked to remove my mask for part of the cut and afterwards when i asked if I should put my mask back on she replied with "Honestly, I dont care." And then rolled her eyes. As I was leaving, another employee asked about my experience and I mentioned I was a little unhappy. In return they offered me a free upgrade to the VIP experience next time I came in... After asking a friend, apparently they offer this upgrade to any first time client for their next visit anyway, so that really sealed the deal that I never return. Ridiculous. read more

This business is on the expensive side of haircuts, which I personally do not mind, but if I am going to pay top dollar for a service, the service I receive should be top notch. I made an appointment online, was called to let me know the stylist was behind and pushed my appointment 15 min. That was fine, no issues and I appreciated it. But I arrived and had to wait 30 more minutes and when the stylist was still not ready for me, they offered a discount for my next visit, I declined and thought this visit should be discounted as I was inconvenienced. I was told that this was not an option so I decided to leave. It is my opinion that if you are in the market for an executive level/boojie/hipster/expensive hair cut I recommend you take your business to scissors and scotch as that is where I traditionally go and will continue to go after this experience. read more

I bought a membership with them about a year ago. After less than a month the guy doing my hair left. Had to go to the other location (Classen Curve). I wanted a flat top but she just wrecked my hair. I went back to Bryant where I lucked into someone who could do a flat top. Then she left. The next person couldn't do a flat top but was good at giving me a bad haircut. The next person wasn't much better. The short story is they can't get people who know how to give a basic haircut. When they do, they quit. They charge a lot of money for a lousy product. There is more ... but I would just be seen as whining. Steer clear. read more

They are a little expensive, especially when you have two people. I've taken my son here and he loves the shampoo/massage! They do a pretty good consistent job of haircuts and they are definitely a step above your typical barber. Appreciate that they do show a genuine interest in making sure that both myself and my kids haircut is what they want. Usually flexible and good about able to squeeze us in for a last-minute haircut. I ceased being a customer to the Boardroom after being cancelled on twice. First, I arrived five minutes late due to heavy traffic and was told upon arrival that my stylist had gone on break and my appointment had been terminated. The tardiness itself was of course a mistake on my part, and I accept that, but as a worker in the service industry there is typically at least a five minute grace period. I then decided to schedule another appointment with the Boardroom, because I really needed a haircut, and finding a new salon can be tedious. I scheduled my appointment three days in advance, and two hours before my appointment time, I received a text reading, "Hello, we need to inform you that your stylist will not be able to do your service today, due to having to work another position for the day. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause." Two hours before... ridiculous. 0/5 stars. read more

Recently got my haircut here by Maria and she did a great job. I went with the Express and it was a cut and shampoo. It can be hit or miss on finding places that cut men's hair well. The only aspect that knocks it down to a 4 was the price. It was $40 for the haircut and with tip that pretty much takes it to $50 which is almost double what I normally pay. They offer the next tier up for a 15 min spa experience but now you're taking over $70 for a haircut with tax and tip. It was a nice experience and would recommend the haircut but the price point is a little steep. read more

I came in with my long-haired son wanting a shaggy but shorter style. I showed Linda several pictures of different styles and we all agreed to go shorter on the sides and keep it long and shaggy on top. After several adjustments he came out with a very clean cut military looking style...not at all what we were going for. His bangs are about halfway to his eyebrows. I am not happy at all, and she mentioned it being like three haircuts in one multiple times. She cut his bangs way too short, which caused his head to look like a ball. Obviously, it needed to then be shorter on the sides and back. Other than the terrible cut, the atmosphere is very cool and manly. But the music was awful, unless you like 80's and 90's soft rock. read more

LOVE Miranda for my two-year old's cut. She takes her time, does a great job, and is awesome with kids. The whole experience here has always been great. The only con is the price. They just upped the price of their buddy cut from $25 (which is already on the high side) to $35 (without any notice to repeat customers). Sadly, we'll be finding a new salon. I can't justify $35 plus tip for a two year old boy's cut. read more

This was my first visit. I was referred here by my wife's hair stylist. The atmosphere is sophisticated and comfortable. They offer a complimentary drink and a pool table. However, the Benchmark service is fantastic. I did not know what some of the services mentioned were, but I can say that I felt like royalty. I do not recommend this salon, at least this location at 1498 S. Bryant in Edmond, OK. I was scheduled for my second visit for the Benchmark which I had a second visit thankyou card for. I arrived five minutes late as the receptionist was giving me a phone call for my arrival. She told me the stylist, who was standing next to her, no longer had time to give me a benchmark and asked if I would change to an express. In frustration I said I would just reschedule and Aly the stylist did not acknowledge me but told her to do that instead. So after driving across town through the traffic that helped my late arrival, I left frustrated and having to google search for another men's salon to try. read more

I was a patron in the Keller, TX location before moving to Oklahoma City. It was exciting when I heard the Edmond location was opening. Amanda and Brooklyn have both cut my hair and they both did a great job. They were attentive and professional. The Benchmark is an awesome choice...especially after a long week. It is relaxing and refreshing. Quick description (check out pictures online): The environment is great...very professional...dark wood paneling, pool table, leather chairs (old school country club look of sorts)...sports always on in the front while you are waiting. You are offered a beverage upon entering/waiting (beer, water, coke, etc). Just a suggestion...but if you like to get your hair cut every 2-3 weeks...the membership is well worth it. You'll pay a tad more for the benchmark service but it is worth every penny IMO. This is the 2nd membership I've purchased and I've had no regrets thus far. My only suggestion to the Edmond location is to ask what kind of pressure to apply on the arms/hands massage...more would be better in my case. That part of the experience is important. Going on four trips here. Had three different women cut my hair but I think I've settled on Irene, or is it Brooklyn. Both are amazing. They keep notes on what I had last time so I can't screw it up. I did the fancy version once and it was cool. But most time I don't have time. And it left my hands almost TOO soft. They aren't overly pushy on the packages or memberships. I'm sure it would be a good deal for planners, but not for this procrastinator. Months between haircuts is my norm. Little pricey, especially for product but I'm digging the consistency. Beer! I know the ladies figured this out first but if I'm getting a haircut and I'm going to be away from the wife and kiddo for an hour it's pretty nice that it comes with a cold Shiner. read more

Great concept and design, but they really stink at cutting hair. I was very disappointed after my experience there, and the hair stylist seemed to have maybe a week of experience before cutting hair. Third time here and found Malisa. She was very good and listened to my request. The previous stylist spent more time trying to sell me a membership package that listening to me about my desired haircut and did a poor job cutting my hair. Malisa did not try to sell me the "membership", as other stylists have done. Think carefully before buying the membership package(s). The packages are pricey and may not be worth your money. At least on a Saturday morning at opening time, without an appointment, wait time was 1.5 hrs if you had a membership and wanted the full services offered with your membership. read more

I made an appointment at the Boardroom because another business ignored the fact that I set an appointment and made me wait for an hour. Making the appointment here was simple as I did it online and was able to get in the same day. I showed up a few minutes early and they were able to get me right in. The stylist (Andrea) was very nice and held a good conversation, something most other stylists at other salons can't seem to do. She did a great job cutting my hair, and the scalp/face massage and hand treatment was perfect. It is easy to tell when people are genuinely happy with their jobs, and the Boardroom staff reflected that. Everyone was friendly and professional, the atmosphere was quiet, and it seemed fairly private, even with other customers in the room. They don't play loud music, and I noticed that they play spa music in the sink room. Overall, this was a great experience and they have gained a return customer. read more
