What a great day today turned out to be. Our adventure started shortly after noon and one of the many stops was M Salon. I booked a same day haircut appointment online and arrived at the salon around 2:15. The salon is located to the left of Charleston's on Broadway. The entry doors open to a small foyer with two chairs and hand sanitizer. The salon entry is to the left. Once inside, there was ample space for movement with an open concept. I was greeted when I approached the counter and checked in. The lady with the pink hair and big smile let Alex know we had arrived and I was updated that Alex was a little behind. Our appointment started about fifteen minutes late but we were in no hurry. You can't rush perfection and it's three days before Christmas with a same day appointment! My daughter was seated in the chair and we chose a women's cut. I wanted her to feel the difference in a kids cut from Super Cuts and what Mom usually gets at a salon. This included wash, cut, dry, and style. I also let her get her eyebrows waxed. Her total hair loss was about 24" of hair. When everything was said and done my daughter hated it. It wasn't the right "shape". Alex was able to explain things like texture, hair types, and what she can do to get it closer to her photo. She was still unhappy but the feedback was well received by Alex. Remember, our appointment was running behind. With grace and a smile Alex was more than happy to fix it and go even shorter. She gave my daughter the Justin Bieber type cut she was looking for, something totally opposite of the first cut Alex had just completed based off a photo my daughter found online. That folks, is how you get repeat customers and five star reviews. Stressed, pressed for time, and still sweet as can be. Hair + Taylor White = A-mAzing! Best salon visit I've had in a LONG time. I went in feeling grown out and frumpy and I left feeling ready to hit the town as a brand new gorgeous blonde! I had really let my hair go due to cost restraints and inability to find someone I liked and needed muchhhhh more than the touch up highlights that his Groupon was for. He really went above and beyond and it shows! I had the works! 3/4 head of highlights, he did some magical toning and shining serum stuff after the shampoo to keep my blonde looking bomb, and then a cut with layers and a blow-out and style! Taylor's customer service was excellent, he was friendly and welcoming when it's usually a bit awkward using a new hair person for the first time. I asked a lot of questions and it seems like he realllly knows what he's doing. His knowledge and techniques are top rated! I LOVE the cut, I LOVE the color and I LOVE how he didn't mind explaining to me what he was doing! The salon area itself is super cute, kinda modern with a glam feel. Very big and spacious. Some artists share a space with chairs all lined up, but Taylor has his own room which is nice for some space to just get away from the hustle and bustle and just relax while you let your artist go to work. I did pay a bit above the Groupon price for all these services, but for the value I received I would do it again in a heartbeat! I absolutely adore Tara! She's been doing my hair since I moved to the area six months ago. She gives me a great cut and provides exceptional customer service. She really listens to her clients and pays attention to detail. She did an excellent job with my color today. I'm always happy with what she does but today I am beyond pleased. As far as the salon goes it is set up pretty nicely. They have complementary coffee and and tea available. They offer their clients items while in the chair. They have a wide variety of styling products available to purchase, Kevin Murphy bring one of the notable ones. I took my daughter here in an emergency situation. Another salon had absolutely ruined it a week before her first day of high school. Analysha was a perfect fit for the job. She fixed it in time and my daughter is so happy. She talked extensively with my daughter about what her options were before she did anything. She was very knowledgeable and friendly. I know it depends on the stylist, but I don't know if I've ever had a worse haircut. Not only did she not do what I asked, I kept asking her to go a little shorter and asked for layers and she didn't do either, but the cut is so choppy and blunt that I'm going to another salon to have it fixed today. The layout of this salon is also weird. You have to walk down a long hallway to get a shampoo. The place is funky and cute, and the music was great, but overall the experience was pretty bad. Not a single employee said a word to me after my initial check in -- no sorry about the wait, no it should be just a few more minutes, no would you like something to drink while you wait -- nothing. Brett, who my appointment was with, couldn't even be bothered to poke his head out to say he was running behind. Other than that the total and complete lack of customer service, this place is the definition of average -- there is literally nothing that sets it apart from your normal, run of the mill salon. My last hairdresser left the state. It took me quite awhile to decide to take a chance on a new place, but finally chose this place based on the reviews. I went in for a haircut and a highlight. I had several pictures of what I wanted it cut like. I didn't get a cut ANYTHING like what I asked for. The highlights were lowlights, or basically the same color as the rest of my hair. I should have made her explain what she was going to do better, but she looked at the pictures, and I thought that was enough. My appointment was canceled with out telling me and i called the stylist my self and she told me she was sick. But said I could be a walk in for a barber named Sydney. Well this girl did not follow my appointment that I had requested what so ever i had asked for a wash, treatment, style. she only styled me. And burnt off 4 inches of my hair with a flat iron. on my graduation day. this was back in 2017 the only reason I'm leaving a review now is because my friend has a similar situation that happened a few months ago. Corinna is everything! She has been cutting my hair for five years and coloring it for as long. I'm not entirely sure how I'll ever be able to find another stylist half as good. I have A LOT of long curly hair and she cuts it brilliantly. A couple of years ago she created what is now my "signature red" and I get compliments on it even when I'm sweaty after a workout! She is knowledgeable about so many products that she helped me find the perfect shampoo and conditioner even though it wasn't one being sold in the salon. The is almost nothing good I can recommend about ALISE HAYES as a hairdresser. Her only positive was her friendliness. Her listening skills are next to zero. I came in with a picture of the cut & color I wanted. She said no problem. when I left the front looked all right but when i got home the back looked horrible. I also had color service, again with pictures, I was looking for high contrast foils. what I got was one color that I like but the contrast was barely noticeable. The contrast was like it was one shade darker then the one she got right. I called a few days later to see if she could fix it. after three attempts I finally got another appointment scheduled. which of course she canceled at the last minute "twice". when I finally got scheduled she did not allow enough time for the color issue and rescheduled that for another time, after three times she canceled the color correction service I got fed up and resigned myself to finding a new hairdresser. Adding insult to injury the first cut and color cost almost $250. the only correction came 5 weeks later with the cut with no follow up from ALISE about the color except cancellations. I highly recommend not booking with ALISE. read more

I'd been to two other stylists in the last few years and one raised her ridiculous prices even higher and that was it. I went to another stylist and she didn't do much, the haircut was less than "okay." I finally read reviews on Tara and she was able to get me in and did a great job on my hair. DO NOT COME HERE!! The owner here is a nasty, rude woman. I'm disgusted by how boldly condescending she was towards me. Probably could've gotten better customer service at a McDonalds during lunch rush. My stylist messed my hair up twice and I asked to speak to the manager to see what could be done. Apparently she was "too busy" but called me back 15 minutes later with an attitude her momma would not have been proud of. My 5 year old doesn't even argue with me as much as she did. Looking through some of the negative reviews it looks like she's no stranger to belittling others that conflict with her. Yikes! During our "conversation" she mentioned she's been doing hair for 20 years and I genuinely think she should go back to doing that because she can't handle running a business.
