Here's the thing about the Boardwalk. The dancers change as often as the offerings at a farmer's market in Europe. Depends on the season and even the night. Sometimes you have really hot Colombians and Argentinians (my taste) and sometimes you have not so hot refugees from the frozen tundra of the Midwest. Sometimes they're young and thin, sometimes they're a little 'roided up. If you want to part with your money, OK, do it. Know that if you go for a lap dance, be ready to pay. If you're gonna take up a dancer's time with your bullshit and groping, tip him fairly or let him move on to someone who's going to pay him for his time. I read here about folks getting charged outrageous prices for drinks. Not sure how that happens unless you come from some small town where beers are a dollar. (Not criticizing the Midwest, I come from there.) But you really need to be ordering a fancy call drink with umbrellas to hit the $20/drink mark. As another poster mentioned, avoid the cover. Come before 9:00 PM. The boys are fresher, there's no cover, the well drinks are cheaper, you can stay for a little bit to see if the crowd gets better. If not, leave. You're not out that much. Or if you come later, you can eat at the restaurant attached and get free admission after your meal. Not that complicated. The history of the place is interesting. They were originally in Sunny Isles in a much smaller place where pretty much the same stuff went on. Business as usual from 1985 to 1997 when the real estate got a lot more valuable. "Fires", busts, nothing closed them down until the city decided it was time to move 'em out. Just as Captain Renault says in "Casablanca", the police chief came in to the Boardwalk and declared he was shocked, shocked! to see what was going on. This business continues to go downhill. No more amateur nights, no more special events, no more groups of 3 dancers on stage at one time. In fact, there are hardly any dancers left (there were only 5 dancers at the club last Friday night). Regrettably, the dancers leave a lot of be desired. One was at least 50 years old, bald, and with a slightly fat belly who spent most of his time giving massages. When he was on stage "dancing," he barely moved. The music is ridiculously loud. They apparently think they're a Miami dance club, which they aren't. People come there to converse. How can you converse easily with music as loud as they play it? Any why do they play the music they do? Nothing from the 70s or 80s? Look at the demographics of the customers--45-75. Doesn't that provide a clue as to the type of music the customers would enjoy? I had high hopes for this club when the new owner took over, but it has been nothing but disappointment since. In fact, they owner doesn't even bother to advertise anymore! It's like they're just going through the motion of being in business. There are lots of rumors as to why, but I won't get into those possibilities here. As a women while I was visiting Boardwalk . It was a lot of underage dancers who works at leboy with fake I'd . He has working there that aren't even 21 but yet this establishment is for over 21. The bathroom u have to wait 30 min to get in because they paying ppl that work there like This guy who goes by the name Gus . Gus is extremely arrogant and power hungry to be in control of things . By picking who can sell and who can come In to his establishments . He charges ppl based on favoritism and what tranny allowed him to have sex with in his back office . He so power hungry that he thinks because he has a German Shepard in his establishment and walks it around the club let out to scare and show he is in control . This guy needs to be stopped He targets black & latin folks Every-time he smells the scent of weed . And he talks to ppl like they are inhumane and beneath him . Claiming his from the Sicilian Mob and a Mason. If we all know if this was true . You wouldn't want to say it . He calls ppl out their names. And as a property owner if he is . The new owner spent a lot of money on the interior of the bar, and it's nice, but it reminds me of a straight bar--not a gay bar. But I'll get to the point. This place always had the best dancers in town, but I'm sorry to say that is definitely no longer true. There aren't many dancers even working there now, and the few that do appear to be rejects from the other bar just down the street in Wilton Manors that has the best hunks in town--Johnson's. The bar has a very different vibe than Johnson's, and it's a good thing to have variety, but without great dancers, the vibe honestly makes very little difference. I read another reviewer who complained about the overly loud music. I couldn't agree more. If they'd ask customers, they'd tell them. Turn down the volume!!! I've given up on this place and probably won't return any time soon, unless I hear the dancer situation has greatly improved. read more

Over the years I have seen this place really go down hill. The slide started when the elderly rich guy bought in so he could have access to young (I mean really young) boys. This bar now only exists as his personal place for the boys he likes. He could care less about the customers or the customers interest in a diverse choice of boys. It's too bad......this place could own the gay strip club market. It won't change until the old guy no longer is involved. I have been going to Boardwalk since the North Miami Beach days but I no longer go because it has been made very clear that the customers only are useful to support the old guy's habit of employing young boys for his use. This place is a JOKE! It is in desperate need of a makeover and is in a state of disrepair. I went there with two of my gay male friends. At the door they hit me with a $25 cover because I was a femals along with a poorly worded and ridiculous "waiver". The drinks are watered down and they pour the cheapest of alcohols. I ordered a Belvedere martini and I swear the latin bartender stopped three times to admire himself in the mirror during the making of my drink, not to mention it was $14 dollars. The dancers are less than desireable unless you want some middle aged latin guys with muscles bulging from their necks. PURELY A STRAIGHT DANCER BAR WHERE THEY HUSTLE YOU. When is Boardwalk going to realize that they need to get with the times and update the bar. No gay man who wants to go to a strip club is going there to see drag queens and transvestites. If they want to see drag queens and transvestites there are other bars with better shows. Gay men are looking for two things, 1. Hot hunky dancers and 2.) well priced drinks. The cover seems to always change and is overpriced on the weekends. The staff used to be great but there are only a couple of good ones left. The one bartender is so rude that I hate ordering a drink from him. Beefcakes used to have good food, but there again the food has gone down and the staff is also new. When you walk into a place and see the general manager has black teeth what are you looking to expect? 5star class and service?! The place has been raided once for prostitution and drugs and it's clear that environment is still flourishing with this street corner behavior. 1) Nothing better than a friendly gay bar to enjoy a few drinks with friends without being attacked from straight guys! Oh well, it happens anyway. 2) There is a $10 fee to get in on a week day, $20 weekends, this price is only for females, ha, okay :) 3) The boys are very nice, but some of them really need to work it out a little bit more on the poll, I recommend :-) 4) The ladies bathroom... here they really have to work on that. I do not mind that everyone use it anyway, but I have noticed that 2 of the three doors are missing inside and that leaves only one fully functioning bathroom, with privacy. It appears the dancers are being phased out. I stopped by the other evening, and you could count the number of dancers on one hand. And believe me, they weren't even worth counting considering their age and appearance. Two were in the age range of 45-50 (so hot, LOL), another had greasy hair and looked like he needed a shower, and a third dancer--who has been there forever, spent much of his time out in the parking lot briefly meeting customers before sending them on their way (what's this all about?). This place is awesome! The bartenders do a great job of taking care of their customers. I am from NYC and the bartenders are very inpersonable. At this club, they will buy you a drink if you treat them right. Check the bartender named Felipe. He works at the back bar and was aweseome! He over poured my drinks and took great care of me and my friends. The dancers were HOT - some of them had an attitude, but overall they were great! I would highly recommend that anyone visiting the Fort Lauderdale area, check out this bar. Great place to meet people and have a great time! read more

Kept hearing about Boardwalk under the new ownership, so finally decided to roll up here with my crew. I was not disappointed. The renovations with the laser show were out of sight. I met Gus the GM. Told him I had some guys from San Francisco coming to town. He arranged for them to get picked up from the airport and brought them to the club. The rest of the night was unbelievable! This is now my go to. The experience and treatment was nothing I've ever seen. This is our new go to! read more

Every time I ask for singles and I give the door woman $40 for some reason I only get $20 in singles back. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME. The employees and managers will actively steal from you. Try being nice to her and you will get nothing but nasty looks and degrading comments from her. The best place to go to see the hottest dancer in town. If you want to have a good time and relax and not feel uncomfortable go to the boardwalk. They have a friendly staff, funny and crazy drag queen MCs. They also have a fabu restaurant outside with some tasty food. So i would say definitely check it out yo wont be disssapointed..... read more
