Sunday Drag Brunch at the Well is a must do. We came today and were a little nervous about the light crowd but it turned into a truly fabulous experience. Our waiter Chandler was on top of it and kept our bottomless drinks ($22 for mimosas and $27 for margaritas and Bloody Marys) flowing. He was fun and friendly and attentive (so hard to find all 3). You didn't even have to ask for refills he was so on top of it. I'm normally one for buffets but their breakfast buffet is weirdly good. Some of the best shrimp and grits I've had in South Florida (and I'm from Nola) and the pancakes were amazing. The performers were also top tier and put on such a lively fun show. Three of us ate dinner at The Well. This is a Canadian company with six locations in Canada. Wilton Manors is the first U.S. location. The Well is considered a gay bar/restaurant. We weren't expecting much since past establishments at this location had terrible food. However, we were pleasantly surprised because the food we ordered was really fantastic and very affordable. Daria was our server and she was very attentive. On Wednesdays, they have "open mike" starting at 8pm. People sing, read poems, tell jokes etc. Wednesday drink specials include $5 Bacardi, Tito's, or Altos tequila. On Thursday around 10pm is Hip Hop night. Saturday and Sundays at 1pm are drag shows (don't tell Ron DeSantis). We started with The Well lager - their own beer. It was crisp and flavorful. If you like lagers, you'll probably love this. It had much more body than a bud! We ordered meatballs to start. They come in a barbecue sauce that was good. The balls were the size of ping pong balls and an order gives you a generous amount of about 20. Next, we ordered The Works Flatbread. It was larger than most flatbreads and quite hardy. It comes with chicken, marinara, bacon, mushrooms, sweet peppers, cheese plus a few other ingredients. It was delicious! This was a "10". Finally we finished with loaded quesadillas. They were stuffed with grilled chicken, jalapeños, tomato, cheese and other things. They were large and filling. I attest that these were the best quesadillas I have ever had. Get them! Daria says the most popular dish is Cajun jambalaya pasta. We didn't order that but I plan to in the future. This is a really great place and I hope they survive on Wilton Drive. They had about six consoles running across six TVs lined up side-by-side on the same wall, so multiple games were happening at once and you could walk right down the line and watch or jump in. The service was not bad but also not good. It was fine. The place was empty and after tasting the food, I see why. The fried pickles had no batter on then, it had all fallen off so it was just dried pickles. The hot dog and chili was fine but could've been better. Also, they had a sign out front saying that they had the hot dog with chili and cheese for $10. So my party and I sit down, order drinks only to find out the hot dog deal ended at 7. I felt they should've honored the price considering they left up the sign after the designated time. Went with my partner and friends to the Well last night. We own a place here but spend only about 3 months out of the year here. My partner sings karaoke and has been there before. He put his song in and we waited for his turn like every other place. He checked on his phone and saw where he was on the list. Well, we waited and waited and noticed "locals" came in and all of a sudden they were singing and he just waited. After almost 45 minutes and only a handful of people there, we left. It was quite obvious that local people get priority over everyone else to sing. Maybe that's why it was only a handful of people there? I can tell you that we won't go there again. We'll go where everyone is treated fairly and a rotation that includes everyone is used not just locals. read more

I gotta say did not have a good experience. I went just this past Sunday went visiting Fort Lauderdale for my birthday. We were excited for their throwback Drag brunch. The show was supposed to start at one, we were there about 40 minutes before early and we the only 2 other people were there. I think close to 1 o'clock the performers started showing up but no make up and not nearly ready for a show. I mean these greens didn't even have an eyelash or lipstick at least! Nothing We literally just sat there staring at a projector screen for almost another hour, and then decided to cut our losses and go. The other two people had already left on top of that the food was mediocre and I didn't get the toast I ordered to go with my Sunnyside up eggs I reminded the waiter immediately but by the time they came (a very long wait for what must be a slow toaster), I had already eaten the my cold eggs. I'm not sure they would've been better hot anyway but it's not the point. It's a small fail coupled with a show that I imagine began sometime after being almost an hour late and meh food I think the best I could say is the beer was cold and server was friendly. read more

A fantastic addition to Wilton Manors pub food. I loved the Cajun Jambalaya ... like being in New Orleans ... andouille sausage, chicken and jumbo shrimp with mushrooms and peppers served on penne pasta in a picante cream sauce with just the right amount of heat. A friend had a cheeseburger and said it was cooked to perfection (a hint of pink on the inside, as he ordered it). Manny was attentive and friendly. This will become a regular lunch place. I'm looking forward to the fish 'n' chips ... heard it's "by far the best in Wilton Manors." The only thing missing from The Well are Reubens and vegetable sides with the sandwiches. The evening was riddled with poor service - primarily from the kitchen, All the orders were cold, slow and many items they didn't have. The "reason" from the server - we are just new and everything hasn't arrived yet...plus the cook is new. Like I said, I want this place to do well (no pun) and I have tried to call to speak to the manager but the telephone number does not work and they have not answered the 3 emails.
