Staff is super nice and games are fun. The staff helps out and makes sure every kid does not leave empty handed.

I learned about Mappy, obscure for good reasons, which oddly features a microwave in its cat-vs.-mouse battle. Silverball is acclaimed for its unique pinball collection but I veer more to video games, especially Super Breakout. An offseason weekday in Asbury Park means hotels aren't $400 but the boardwalk is also a bit too quiet at that time, so I'm thankful that Silverball helps create a sense of place year-round. (For my financial news nerds, Silverball's current rating average is 4.6 and there should be an "adjusted EPS"-type number that excludes any negative reviews about the food. I have nothing bad, or good, to say about Silverball's cuisine having never tried it but I assure you there's fine fare within the designated Asbury Park/Ocean Grove/Neptune/Bradley Beach Designated Metropolitan Area.)

It's a really fun mix of old school charm with plenty to keep both adults and kids entertained. In my opinion, this place is probably best suited for kids around 8 and up. My 4 year old tagged along but wasn't too into most of the games, the only thing that really caught her attention was the skee-ball, which she loved. For the older kids and adults though, there's plenty of variety to enjoy. As for pricing, it's $17.50 for an hour of unlimited play, which isn't bad, but I'd definitely recommend spending the extra few bucks for the $20 half-day pass, it's a much better deal if you plan to hang out for a while. We ended up doing that and had a great time playing and competing, my husband and I definitely got a little competitive! Overall, it's a fun, affordable, and nostalgic way to spend time on the boardwalk. Worth stopping by if you're in the area!
