All's well that ends well. I mean, sorta. This has been a two year (almost to the day) journey that honestly should've taken two weeks. Max. I bought a new vehicle at Bob Allen. I noticed a paint imperfection on the lot the day I bought it. Everyone there agreed that it needed to be repaired. Pictures were taken. Assurances made. And yet, this nightmare went on for two long years. Keep in mind that this is a warranty job. The car was new. But every time I spoke to someone, they passed it on to someone else like a crazy game of hot potato. Think for a moment. How many people do you know by name at your dealership? One? Probably none. That's the way it should be. I shouldn't have to worry about who is who at the dealership. But, during this ordeal, I talked to Austin, Hannah, Tim, Thomas, Steve, Lauren, and even that curmudgeon Brian. You all, it shouldn't have taken two years to fix the paint. I shouldn't have to talk to that many people over two long years to get a warranty job done. I'm not sure how that many people can drop a ball but I'm proof positive that it can happen at Bob Allen. The two year trial is finally over. They did what appears to be a good job with the paint (thanks, Steve). But now, after having gone through this, I have to wonder if they'll honor their Bob Allen Allegiance Lifetime Powertrain Warranty should anything go wrong in the future. I like the car I bought. It's quick, nimble, and reliable. I just wish the dealership could've been the same. Here's to hoping the future relationship with them is better than the past. read more

Breach of contract/Fraudulent/buy elsewhere January 28, 2025 Bob Allen Danville, KY. I negotiated a deal that was agreed upon twice verbally and documented in a hand written sheet. The terms of the agreement were not honored with a $700 processing fee added post our agreed price after more time there than I planed. The dealership changed the terms. Id give half a star if possible. Not fair. Not honest. Ridiculous. BOB ALLEN MOTOR MALL sold me a 10 yr old jeep with 73k miles with a blown head gasket. And they did nothing except cover up what was wrong with it.. they looked at it 2 times, have receipts along with at least 9 more receipts from 4 shops and replacing the entire coolant system when all along it was the head gasket . Altho its been in shop for close to 8.5 months of the 13 ive owned it and spent all together 13k for purchase and another $4.5k in repairs that werent even needed for a total of about 18k including the purchase of the jeep and now another 3k probably to fix heads. Costed me my job at that. I will not buy from them again and will make it my mission to spread the word not to buy from them. Do not trust these people. They did me and many others dirty, wont name names but they know .. Ridiculous. Also when i had oil changed after purchase it had 6 quarts oil in a 4 cylinder, Most vehicles on average use 4, or 5 for v8s. Never again. How do you all sleep at night? I Will contact ktc, for the history of this vehicle, cause your repair shop deleted the history without telling or consulting me. A vehicle with 84k miles will have history. This one dont also i have pics of silicone being used around the headgasket. UPDATE JUNE 2 2025. Ive put almost 7k in repairs minimum since Ive owned it in 2024. was in shops (plural) about 7 months of past 13. This will not go unnoticed nor will this sh@# fly with me. Took my truck in for a simple oil change. No tire rotation, no nothing. Just change the oil.......Well, had a 3pm appointment, truck sat in the driveway for 20 min before the tech moved it outside where it sat for another 15min. So, not only did it sit for 35min after my appt but then they put THE WRONG OIL IN IT!!!!! Whoever "Mike" is he's an idiot! The entire process was a major failure. NEVER trust your vehicle to these people. Mike could care less, he was just a jerk wad. I mean, seriously....a simple oil change and they F'd it up and they could care less. read more

This letter is written after waiting over 3 months for a brand-new truck I purchased in December to be delivered to the dealership from which I purchased. Let's start from the beginning; I am in the sales/customer service industry and work with people every day. I have never seen such sheer disrespect and pure arrogance until I came to Bob Allen Motor Mall. This was the first ever new truck I was purchasing so I was super excited about it. I spoke with Dave at Bob Allen when he informed me that they have a 2022 GMC Sierra 2500 AT4 listed on their website as (IN TRANSIT). After much consideration, On December 14th I decided to pull the trigger on the truck as I needed to buy something before the end of December. However, at this time I was PROMISED by Dave that the truck would not take more than a couple of weeks to get there. The truck was built on 12/28/2021. On this Date is when the dealer and I went through the actual purchase contract. I had planned to take the GMC 0% interest financing options seen everywhere on TV. When they ran my credit, they called me and said there was an issue. This seemed hard to believe seeing that I have an 800+ credit score with a credit history over 14 years long and ZERO late payments. I could qualify for anything I want. The GMC Finance manager that I was connected to couldn't give a crap about hearing what might be the issue. The synopsis of the story is that I was named after my dad and had a legal name change in 2020. This GMC finance manager told me that because I had a name change my old credit would not come over and therefore, I would not qualify. I emailed him multiple articles written by the credit reporting agencies that clearly say a name change does not change your credit. I was treated like trash. This manager said to me this sentence "We didn't ask you what size shoe you wear why would we ask you if you had a name change" accusing me of changing the deal. Apparently, they make money even on the 0% financing option. I never received ANY written notification of why my credit application was denied which is clearly a violation of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act. (15 U.S.C. 1691 et seq.) Conveniently, even though I placed a $1000 deposit on this truck 2 weeks prior I noticed they now have MY truck listed on their website for several thousand dollars more with the same Stock number and Vin number! This manager wanted to deny my credit so they could sell the truck for more money to someone else. After receiving more horrible customer service I was encouraged to give up the deal. Seeing that I only had 3 days left before the end of the year to find a new truck I went forward with wiring the dealership $84,802.34. PAID IN FULL. Over the next few months, I had to call my salesman every single week for an update. NOT ONCE IN OVER 3 MONTHS HAS THIS DEALERSHIP GIVEN ME AN UPDATE without having to ask! I have received the tag and the title in the mail for my truck yet GMC is withholding my paid for property from me. I have been told so many times that they have no idea when its coming or why it is taking so long. I know of multiple other people who have had their trucks built after mine and been delivered soon after from THE SAME EXACT PLANT MY TRUCK IS PARKED AT. I have asked the dealer if there is any way I could fly to Michigan and pick up my truck and that's not an option and they are not willing to anything about this. I have been told my truck is 100% complete not waiting on chips literally sitting in a parking lot where it was built with an unknown shipping time. I have called GMC corporate as well and they defer me to the absolute embarrassment of a dealership that I did business with. I am having to pay over $160 a month to maintain insurance on MY brand-new vehicle that is sitting in Michigan with NO answer on when I might receive it. When I spoke with the General Manager of the Dealership, he gave the same runaround answer of everyone else who seemingly has no clue as to why the truck hasn't been delivered. Once salesperson arrived, she was hostile and rude bc it was her day off but she still came in to make the sale by choice. WARNING!! DO NOT buy a used car from this lot. Here is my story. I found a used 2018 Mustang with only 57,263 miles on it on this lot. I had been looking for a mustang with low miles and decided to make the drive to Danville to take a look. As soon as we got there we took the car for a test drive and noticed that the car was jumping when going into any gear from park. The young salesman was very nice and when he noticed we were very hesitant about the car offered for the mechanic at the new car dealership to look at it. I asked if the mechanic could run the car for any codes and just do an overall check since I was now nervous about the integrity of the car, even though it had such low miles. The mechanic then took the car to the new car dealership and we went into town to wait. We waited around in town for a couple hours while they checked the car. I called my brother, who is a mechanic to ask him if he thought I could trust this, and his response was of course you can trust a mechanic, they will look it over for you, especially if it is a dealership. After a couple hours they called us to come back and informed us that the mustang needed the transmission reprogrammed and I asked if there were any codes showing when they scanned it. The salesman's response was no. I then called the local Ford dealership in Danville to confirm that reprogramming a transmission would fix the problem we were seeing and they confirmed. It appeared that the problem we were seeing was a pretty easy fix, a few hundred dollars at the ford dealership to reprogram the transmission. I asked the salesman about what if it were a bigger issue and he actually told us they had sold a fusion to a girl a couple days before and it broke down almost immediately after she bought it and they ended up refunding her. I didn't know how to feel about that, did they sell junk, or did they stand by what they sell?? Regardless, we ended up unfortunately deciding to purchase the car. We made it home about 40 miles and then 3 miles to work the next day and then BOOM the engine light came on! MISFIRE cylinder 2. So I called the dealership. I have the car scanned and what do I find out??? THAT CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAD BEEN CLEARED ON THE LOT BEFORE THEY SOLD IT TO ME!! The manager of the lot denies it, I drive there and discuss it with him until he gets his mechanic on speakerphone who then admits on the phone to clearing the code and putting the car on the lot. The lot manager then says he will fix the car for me. That becomes the biggest joke of all. Their mechanic puts spark plugs in it...I drive it maybe 40 miles and the light is back on and end up at BIll Collins Ford paying $500 to have those aftermarket plugs that were installed incorrectly replaced. So you ask where is the car now??? Where is the Mustang?? IT IS CURRENTLY AT BILL COLLINS FORD AWAITING ENGINE REPAIR!!!!!!! I have yet to drive the car I purchased on July 25th and it is Aug 26th. So if you want a car that actually runs shop anywhere but here. They are deceptive and their mechanics do not even know how to properly install a spark plug. read more

I talked to the salesman several times and he sent me a walk around. I flew in and the truck Had a service engine soon light on and the steering wheel had a bad vibration. The salesman said the light was a particular filter and the tries were out of balance. I said you knew i was flying in 3 weeks ago, why wasn't it fixed. He had no idea. I talked to the manager and asked, Who sells a truck with lights on and out of balance tires? He said the salesman sent you a video so you should have asked why the light was on hell i would have. I said i couldn't see well because the video was so grainy and showed him. He tried to see it but couldn't. He pulled it up on his website and showed me a picture of the dash with the light and you can see the rpm so its running. I said i didn't see it on your site it was on truecar.com with only 4 pics. I told him that i wasn't buying from a guy off the street and thought you were a reputable lot. The filter is part of the exhaust and is $3500 and the tires shaking. He said well i will just have somebody take you back to the airport and refund you your deposit. Total lack of professionalism. I bought the truck but was not happy. I was stuck. Had a great salesman Tony. But I was given the car empty on gas, oil was 1,000 miles over due, and brakes going out on way home, and stereo making popping noise. It's "AS-IS" alright!! but my advice is go somewhere else where they at least change the oil and put gas in it and inspect the dang cars. Thought the new car transaction would go smoothly based on phone calls, arrived to do all the paperwork to find out the car had the wrong interior color. Sales team immediately went into denial mode until I told them I had an email to them that stated the desired interior color. It then became a game of showing us cars "within 400 miles" that we're missing one or more of the options we wanted. Understand mistakes will be made, but the denial followed by the press to compromise what we wanted and paid for was disappointing and infuriating. Follow up: After some thrashing around the dealer is making it right. Car is not delivered yet, but I upgraded rating based on them making good on their error to this point. read more

On December 21 2017, I traded in my 2015 GMC for a 2018 GMC. The deal and the ease of trade was great. Sadly Alex, my salesman, has since left. In April of 2019, I received notice from my lease company that taxes for 2018 were due on my 2015 truck. It has been 6 months now and John Welsh and Bob Allen Motor mall have not paid the taxes on the truck that I traded. They were the owners from December 21st 2017, so on January 1 they owed the tax. The lease company paid it and now wants me to pay the money back to them. Multiple emails and phone calls have not resolved the issue. The County Clerks Office in Boyle and Jessamine counties both say there is nothing I can do to fix it. Now I have received a notice demanding payment from the lease company. I am forced into filing against Bob Allen Motor Mall with the BBB and the Attorney General as well as posting my complaint on social media. Bob Allen Motor Mall COULD have easily sent a check in April of 2019 to clear this all up. But they didn't. I guess my 4 new truck purchases weren't enough to warrant them forking out $360.00 that they themselves owed to clear my name from their debt. Obviously, I am now going to have to find a new dealer to purchase trucks from next year. read more

Lies....uneducated salesperson.....son of General Manager....duh. Knows nothing about vehicles....or sales. Can't even match VIN's. 1st asked for pictures to be sent to me. He sent pictures of the wrong vehicle....wrong model...wrong year...wrong VIN. I informed him that it wasn't the vehicle described...his response was it must be listed wrong. What a salesperson. I then did my research with the VIN and discovered that it was actually what I wanted. I then text him to say that I was pretty sure that he sent the wrong pictures. He then sent the correct pictures....which showed a damaged rear bumper cover. Okay, no big deal as he stated that there was a new one on order to replace it. He said there was no metal body damage. I asked about the driver's seat, tires, and if there was any other damage. His response, seat was perfect, tires are good, and no other damage. I then place a deposit over the phone to hold the vehicle. I drive 5 hours....first thing I do upon arrival is inspect the bumper cover to only see a bend/ damaged rear metal quarter panel above the new bumper cover. I then continue looking....driver's seat is showing a lot of wear, NOT close to perfect. The front windshield has about a 6 inch crack. I point these areas out. General Manager said they would deduct the amount to fix the quarter. The General Manager then told me that I should wait a few months and turn the windshield into my insurance company....FRAUD He then decided to deduct $300 for the quarter panel, after I told him that it would cost $360-435 to repair.....after he said he would deduct the cost of the repair. I then spoke with my wife and we decided that there needed to be another $200 discount to help with the windshield. NOPE....was his answer on a $34,000 used vehicle. I wasted a day dealing with the kid that says he is a salesperson and the daddy General Manager that will be taking care of his son the rest of his life. Drove 300 miles to get the 2500 and asked salesman when I got there if truck had a locking differential and he answered all 2500's do.A few weeks later decided to register on mopar website and just curious what actually were the vehicle options so I ran vin number. No kind of locking differential or limited slip on truck. Dealership said everything would be on video and if I was told that it would be added. Mopar said it would look into this . Dealership then told mopar I was told it didn't have that option.There is a reason they claim to be the top seller of big trucks.They lie and say whatever is needed to sell more. read more
