Stopped in to pick up online order to take to in-laws for holiday get together. The staff was friendly but the food lacked this time. Large pieces of chicken but the coating was not crisp but soggy. The stuffing was dry and reminded me of stove top from the box. To many biscuits and rolls for 4 people which might be good hot but not hard and cold. Must be just a filler for the price. This once great restraunt has gone downhill. Haven't been in awhile due to poor service and the food has changed. Last night (9/1) I decided to give it another try. At 7:03pm there were 3 cars in the parking lot. I was seated only 3 tables of customers. I sat for 20 minutes, was never asked if I woukd like something to drink, no one ever came to my table. I got up and walked out. It's as if there were no employees at at all. I had seen 4 different faces so I know they were there. Apparently this explains why there were so few customers. Horrible! This has to be the worst place I have ever eaten from. I don't understand how they are still open or how they haven't accidentally killed someone from food poisoning. The eggs were cold. I ordered French toast with the berries and the cream. It wasn't toast. It was bread with berries poured on top. So it was a soggy mess. And there was no cream. The sausage had a funny metallic flavor and the bacon was not cooked. It was still white and full of grease. The hash-browns didn't have any kind of potato flavor because the amount of grease overwhelmed anything else. and weren't cooked. Everything was inedible and the flavor was just off. I took two bites of everything (except the French toast (soggy bread) and threw it in the trash. It was that bad. I am very sick to my stomach now and I'm having bad stomach pains from attempting to eat any of this food. If I get any more sick than what I am right now, I'm going to the emergency room and I'm calling the health department. This place isn't safe. Ordered omelet and hash browns. Told waitress I wanted them very crispy and if they weren't I would send them back. She brought them to our table very raw looking and asked me if they were ok? I told her they were terrible looking. She took my plate back to kitchen. Returned several minutes later with the same thing except these were greasy. Sent them back again. We finished our meal then she brought another plate out that was the same as the first. She knew they weren't good but the kitchen wasn't helping. We paid and left. I had never had Bob Evans and was fairly excited to try it. From their all day breakfast to the dinner menu, it was a wide variety. Me and my party all got different things. A half salad, half soup, then a burger and fries, finally a chicken, mash potato, corn, and biscuit meal. The chicken on both meals tasted unseasoned and rubbery. The biscuit came out soaked in honey. The service was disrespectful and not professional. The drinks were heavily overpriced for the little jars that the drinks came in. Love Bob Evans. It is a family favorite restaurant fir breakfast. They will accomodate almost any food request too, even if it is not on the menu. Ordered appetizers and pot roast, pot roast came cold atop cold mashed potatos with raw onion and carrot on top? When I asked the waitress why she claims she wasn't sure and will ask the kitchen, she never came back until the bill was ready. On both visits the "mason jar" glasses smelled like eggs, so I asked for to go cups and was looked at like I was asking for something extravagant. We went for Brunch today There was a small wait of 15 minutes which is normal. Got our table out waitress was prompt got our two coffees one orange juice and tree out of the four waters. Yes their was four of us. We waited for our food patiently for 25 minutes and then no not patience and no one brought more coffee, water or did we get a pass by saying sorry for the wait At 35 minutes we and several others table magically all get our food at the same time and we all came at separate times. We were still not brought drink refills. We finally asked and we ate are cold potatoes but very hot eggs. Thank goodness. Having had several lackluster encounters with Bob Evans in the past, I was reluctant to stop here. I did so, mostly because my little grandson wanted to. To begin, the table was sticky, as though it were given a hasty, superficial wiping, after a messy pancake fest. The real disappointment came with the "omelet" I ordered. The "omelet" was rolled up in normal fashion, except that the filling components were simply piled around, and on top of it, as opposed to being wrapped within. None of them were actually fried or sauteed, but were instead piled on raw, as though the adding of them was a hurried afterthought. I struggled to pick through the meal and consume that which I deemed edible. "Little guy" fared better with his biscuits and gravy. If there is any redeeming quality here, it would be the biscuits, which were quite good. This visit was on a Friday evening, when most local restaurants are bursting at the seams with patrons; there were however, only two tables occupied here, including ours. We used to love coming here, we came in yesterday and had horrible service. The food came out late the order was not complete. They forgot to bring out three items, side of bacon, order of mush and fresh fruit. I order take out from here all the time because they offer family sized soups for under $6. Their vegetable beef soup is out of the this world. My mom prefers their potato soup. Worst experience to date at this location. Told us 15-20 minutes to be seated...ended up being 45. The host was spending more time yaking with a child, instead of doing his job seating people. They were seating 3+ tables at a time, in the same waitresses section, making ordering a slow event. Once ordered, it took over 30 minutes to get our food, which came out incomplete and cold. The hash browns tasted like burnt plastic. Once we finished, we had to ask the waitress twice for our check, since each time she went by our table, she'd forgotten about us. We ended up getting up and headed for the register in hopes they could speed things up. We spent 2 hours there for what shouldn't have taken much more than an hour. We have put this place on the "maybe we'll be back next year" list, in hopes they either get their act together, or go out of business and we get a better restaurant. We either dine in or carry out from the Evansville, Indiana Bob Evans at least 4 times a month. The place is usually busy so we try and go after 1:00 P.M. which is​ fine for us as we are retired. We love that breakfast is served all day long! The food is always tasty and hot and the servers are exceptional. This Thanksgiving we ordered the Premium Farmhouse Feast for 8-10 serving. There were​ six adults and two children and there was enough left over for more than two meals. We didn't even get into the ham until the third day. We picked up the order the night before and all I had to do was heat up the next day. The meal consisted of white Turkey breast, smoked ham, dressing, mashed potatoes/gravy, green beans, corn, macaroni & cheese, cranberry relish, rolls, pumpkin bread, apple pie & pumpkin pie. I know I will do this again as everything was very delicious. Bob Evans is one of my favorite places to eat in Evansville. Just really good tasting comfort food. read more
