One of the worst Bob Evans in the area, they staff stand around gossiping, while customers are told it's a 15 min wait to be seated; 2/3 of the restaurant was empty. The food came out cold due to the servers standing around talking and playing on their phones; I waited 15 mins for a refill. We were seated at a table that had been cleaned but had water all over it. I asked the hostess with the shoulder length purple hair to bring a napkin so I could wipe it up. She never brought it so we asked to be moved to a booth. We both ordered the $7.99 country-fried steak dinners with the soup and dessert added. Both the potato soup and chicken noodles soup was cold. Server did not come back until entree was delivered. The entrees were mediocre at best. There must be a gravy shortage. The green beans were good. The mashed potatoes not so good. Bob Evans has been a family staple since I was a kid. It was always a treat and something I look forward to each time I visit. However this place is not what I remember except for one thing but I will get to that in a minute. The restaurant was about 3/4 full when we arrived. We waited to be seated because I figured they must have had a mass exodus because all of the tables in one section were dirty. They "cleaned" the table but it was still really sticky when we were seated. We then sat for over 10 minutes, watched a server clean a table, seat that table, bring their drinks, and take their order. When she passed we asked her to find our server. She said that he was normally the griddle cook so he probably got confused that he had our table. He came, took our drink order, was super apologetic-didn't know it was his table, and quickly got our drinks. They now make, with their new coffee blend, one of best cups of decaf I have ever had! He took our order and still the tables around us sat dirty. No one took plates as they passed by, no one did anything until another group came in and they had to clean a table. Our food came, but not all of it. And we had no silverware. The server finally came back to check and we asked for silverware and missing food items and thankfully he brought the silverware before the missing food items because they took a while. I had ordered the Rise and Shine and it was well cooked although the hash brown portion was super small. Normally you get a nice helping of hash browns because they fill up the plate and they are cheap. I had the biscuits which amazingly are just like I remember and they are delicious fluffy pillows of butter that are an indulgence you must not miss. My husband's bacon was over cooked on one end and underdone on the other to the point that it was inedible. It kind of looked like they forgot to put it on so they held it in the fryer to cook it, hence the totally raw ends. His hash browns were still frozen in the middle and were basically just raw potato as in just hash, no brown. I hope this is a fluke and that it hasn't come to this for Bob Evans. read more

I have always enjoyed the food at Bob Evans. A few weeks before Easter I ordered dinner for my family for Easter. On the day it was to be picked up, Easter morning, I was informed they "ran out of food" so here it was Easter morning with no Easter meal. I was given a refund. What ticked me off more was that Bob Evans should never have taken my or the many others orders if that could not fill the orders. I tried to complain to the Bob Evans company but they were not accepting complaints. From what I read on line this happened all over the country. We are traveling and decided to stop for dinner at this Bob Evans. We waited for about 3 minutes for someone to even approach us, as the staff were busy talking to each other. The wait staff was very unprofessional, making snide comments to each other. They were out of pot roast and turkey (seems odd when those are the two big menu items) so we ordered chicken. The chicken was good, however when we were cutting into it, noticed the inside was raw. The waitress did not come back to check on us at all, until it was time to bring the bill. When I told her that the chicken was raw, she alerted the manager. He did not comp our bill, but gave us a discount on our food, he didn't even come to talk to us which I felt was wrong. Normally their food is delicious but I think maybe since the pandemic it's gone downhill a little bit. i usually get their western omelette and its delicious but the last few times I can tell they definitely stopped using fresh peppers and onions and switched to frozen as the omelette is watery and the veggies are mushy and soggy. food is cold, their "baked potato soup" is nothing more than under cooked potatoes in their macaroni and cheese sauce. I am extremely disappointed in the quality of this establishment every time i visit. Even though the place has been remodeled it needs a very good cleaning. Also, they were VERY short staffed the hostess was also dealing with take out and cashiering because two of the other employees left early. Haven't had Bob Evans (this time for take-out considering COVID-19) in awhile. Definitely not what it used to be. Ordered the pot roast so beautifully pictured on the website menu. The order actually looks absolutely nothing like what's shown. Do you remember Bob Evans signature coleslaw? We ordered it as a side Well, you can forget about getting any of that anymore. What Bob Evans is selling you now isn't even close to what you remember as its signature coleslaw. But they sure haven't dropped the price. You might as well save some money and get a container of store-bought coleslaw. It'll taste the same as what Bob Evans will drastically overcharge for. Very disappointing experience. read more

Normally this would be a great family gathering to sit down and have a nice meal. Today we gathered after church to sit and have a nice lunch but that was not the case. To begin we wait 45-60 minutes to be seated then realized people have been seated around us and we have not been seated even though there has been another group with the same amount of people that arrived after us was seated. We sit down and start ordering for only some of the food we have ordered doesn't come, but shows on the receipt. After we get our food, after waiting 2 hours. We find out there was 2 long hairs in the soup. We notified the waitress and instead of apologizing she was determined to find out the owner to the hair and was talking about the details of the hair and how it was probably a beard hair. Our food was cold or warm and over cooked. The waitress had only came out a few amount of times, even though we needed her at others. Two stars because our waitress was funny. However, it took our family of 3 awhile to be seated in an almost empty dining room. When we were seated, everywhere looked dirty such as trash on the floor and just things being sticky. Our church waitress did wipe down our high chair for us, though. The waitresses seemed "out of it" because she tried to bring us things we already had and would promise to bring us rolls "after she got this next order" but then brought rolls to a table seated after us. It didn't take too long to get our food and the waitress was still very kind. However, the structure of this establishment could use work and so could the cleanliness. read more

Bob Evans is one of the few restaurants in Jackson where you can get a sitdown breakfast, which makes it worth having around. The food is "homestyle" but over the years i think it has started tasting more and more processed. Still, it's hard to ruin eggs and bacon. It doesn't take too long to get a seat in here and the bathrooms are kept clean. For breakfast I'd suggest the banana bread and yogurt, and for lunch and dinner I like the chicken strips with mashed potatoes. read more

I ordered a veggie omelette with toast, and when the food was served, I was told I had to wait on the toast. When it arrived, one piece was burnt and the other barely toasted. Along my search for the "Buzzardroost Rock" I had to make a pit stop to use restroom but felt obligated to order something. There was a case with desserts by the entrance so I ordered a brownie but I specifically asked if the brownie had any nuts or chips in it of any kind the lady said no so I took it to go it was $1.99. Them I thought well heck if I'm going to eat a brownie I should get a milk. Not realizing the price of milk I was surprised that a SMALL milk cost $2.16 - REALLY? I could have bought an entire gallon of milk for $2.16. And what made me even more irritated is that once I was back on the highway I bit into the brownie which HAD NUTS. I was just frustrated. This was my first time at a Bob Evans. The restaurant in Jackson Ohio is an excellent first impression. Staff were excellent, the interior was very clean and also gave a warm welcoming feeling. I had a simple Hamburger with the store recommended toppings. The bread was amazing and the overall taste was so good it put Bob Evans on my list of favorite burger places. I recommend checking it out if you're in the area! read more

Needs new management! One the day we were there, the (very nice) wait staff was clearly trying to run the restaurant by themselves. Even when a young child threw up at the booth next to ours, the manager made a brief appearance before returning to the back room. I am in town for business and came here for breakfast and was wonderfully surprised. I don't visit Bob Evans often as the closest one to where I live is 50 miles away. I want to start off saying that I enjoy a good breakfast and I got a very good breakfast at this restaurant. There were 3 main things that contributed to this very good experience. 1. The food was good, prepared well, and served fresh. Eggs prepared the way I requested and multigrain pancakes that were delicious and cooked perfectly. 2. A waitress that was warm, friendly, and took my order and delivered exactly what I asked for. I have special dietary needs and I appreciate it when I order a meal a specific way and it gets presented to me just as I order it. It is amazing the number of times I order something like eggs only, no toast, no potatoes, no extras and receive a plate of eggs amassed with greasy potatoes and white toast that I cannot eat. Then they charge for it to boot. Sherry accepted my order and delivered it just the way I wanted. 3. I hostess/receptionist that had a pleasant greeting, a warm smile, and sparkling eyes. Started the experience off right and it just got better throughout my entire visit and breakfast.
