Bob Evans normally wouldn't be a choice of mine to dine as I like local restaurants but I could walk from the hotel. My waiter was friendly and attentive. I started with a citrus drink that was really good and refreshing. I went with the Alaskan Cod for the entree and it was huge. I chose fries and a fruit cup for the sides. The fruit cup wasn't really a fruit cup but had a lot of grapes; melon slices and a strawberry so much more than I was expecting. The banana bread seemed to be the bread to order from seeing what other tables were getting. I didn't care for the dessert I ordered but that isn't the restaurant's fault. Bob Evans has a large menu and good food if you are looking for somewhere to dine in Smithfield.

We are longtime Bob Evan's fans since our introduction to them 30 years ago. We've also watched them struggle to stay relevant and popular especially lately. Some places, frankly, are hit or miss. This location today was more hits than misses. Promptly greeted and whisked to a clean booth, our server Emma (?) knew the menu inside and out--never missed a beat. I like that. Food was very good and surprisingly affordable. The banana bread as one of the complimentary choices, was a welcome treat for my turkey dinner. Mmmm. Need a place along the way to refresh, relax, and refill? I say "give 'em a whirl" at this location. Easy on/off the expressway.

We hadn't been to a Bob Evans in years and weren't planning to go to one. However, while trying to find the Cracker Barrel that was supposed to be at this exit, then not finding it, we came across Bob Evans. Well, then that's where we'll have dinner, we said. Upon entering, we were greeted and seated. Our server was friendly and efficient, the place was clean (except for that musty smell we noticed). I got "chicken fried steak" and chose green beans plus mashed potatoes and gravy for my side. My husband chose the turkey dinner which had sliced turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing and cranberry sauce. We both thought our dinners were good but nothing to write home about. To be fair, that was just what we expected.

PEOPLE, PEOPLE, did I say PEOPLE! I can not rave enough about this location regarding this visit. Now, mind you I have been to this location several times prior to COVID and after. Each time before I swore I would NEVER return. However, this time they changed my heart and mind. We were visiting with friends and they wanted to stop in. I kept asking, noooo let us go somewhere else - thinking about all the previous times I had been to this location and the service was horrible and the food the same. However, not one to spoil the mood I went along and I am glad I did. I am not sure if they just had better staff or management, but it was a complete 180 from other visits. The food was fresh and tasty! When they made a mistake, they were quick to ensure it was fixed and with a smile. During my visit, they were taking precautions for COVID. We were not seated very close to others and it looked as if they were wiping down everything as well. We ordered a few items on this trip: THE ORIGINAL FARMER'S CHOICE - 10/10 780 - 1820 cal. Our signature breakfast includes your choice of premium breakfast meat, two fresh-cracked eggs cooked-to-order, and hash browns or home fries. Served with three hotcakes or two slices of Brioche French toast BANANA BERRY FARMER - 10/10 1210 - 1690 cal. Choice of premium breakfast meat with two fresh-cracked eggs* cooked-to-order and your choice of hash browns, home fries or fresh-cut fruit. Served with three blueberry hotcakes topped with fresh bananas SIRLOIN STEAK* & FARM-FRESH EGGS* - 8/10 1350 - 1390 cal. Marinated Choice sirloin* cooked-to-order and served with two fresh-cracked eggs* cooked-to-order with your choice of hash browns or home fries and freshly-baked biscuits HONEY BUTTER CHICKEN AND BISCUIT - 8/10 1000 - 1620 cal. Two hand-breaded fried chicken breasts with real clover honey, butter, one split biscuit, and your choice of two sides CINNA-BISCUITS - 10/10 710 cal. Eight pieces of made-to-order fried biscuit dough dusted with cinnamon sugar and served with warm cream cheese icing Pro-Tip: go before 2pm if you want grits! They do not serve them after 2pm. The tea isn't really sweet, so you might need to add sugar. Always check their app for specials. Add peppers and onions to your home-fries for added flavor!

My hubby and I stopped by for a quick breakfast and my first plate of food had a piece of hair in it. I reordered and my second plate had a piece of hair. The manager compensated our food, but at this time I was nauseous.

This Bob Evans is located near Interstate 95 at exit 95. We were looking for a lunch spot during our travels. We know this place is not available locally, so we decided to come here during our travel. Plus, it was around lunch time anyways, so it worked out. This place is a little crazy to get to when you don't know the area. There were two lanes going into the Outlet Center, where this place is located. On the way out of the outlet center, you'll need to go through a roundabout as well. Our visit here was on July 25, 2019. When we came in, it looked like it was closer to the end of a rush that they may have had. Either way, we were immediately greeted and then seated when we came in. Within a minute or so, our server was at the table asking for our drink orders. After getting the drinks, she asked if we were ready to order, but we needed a few moments as they do have a large menu. After a few minutes, she came back and we were finally ready to order. I ended up going with the Bacon Cheeseburger with fries. My mom went with the Pick Two Combo with Cheddar Baked Potato Soup and a Loaded Baked Potato. After about 10 minutes, our orders came to the table. The food was nice and hot. The burger was cooked just as I had ordered. The burger was juicy and tasted great; it definitely hit the spot for me. My mom said the pick two choices were nice and hot, as well as tasty too. Our server did come to check on us while we were eating. Once we were done, I asked about getting drinks for us to go on the road and she got them for us. Overall, the food was good and the service was as well. If my travels take me this way again in the future, I wouldn't hesitate to stop here again. This place is worth checking out if you are hungry and in the area.

The place was crowded but there was no wait. I got seated immediately at a table near a column in the middle of the restaurant and Christy came over and asked if I wanted anything to drink. She brought me iced water and gave me time to look at the menu. I wanted to try so many things and I was too optimistic about ordering 3 things and finishing them myself. Good thing I only ordered 2 things! An order of fried catfish with home fries and one egg. And a biscuit with sausage gravy. The fried catfish was salted and well fried. It tasted delicious for my first bite! The home fries were basically cut potatoes, but they weren't very fried or flavored. I wished I ordered the side of apple sauce instead. The biscuit and sausage was good, but a bit too much for one person after eating a separate order already. Definitely bring more people so you can try more things. Also, I wished I had asked for sausage gravy on the side so I can try the biscuit on its own first as well. Furthermore, I would have more time to eat the catfish so I wasn't worried about the biscuit getting soggy. Christy came to check up on me every now and then. The place was buzzing with people and decorations so I didn't feel so alone. When it was time to pay, Christy brought me the check for me to pay at the cash register. Both Christy and the cashier were so friendly! The restaurant does have a women's and a mens restroom if needed.
