Had to wait to long for everything. The entire dining room faces the kitchen. You would think that would make everyone walk a little faster or put some kick in their steps. No. Waitress is nice. Friendly. But only one speed. Slow. Waited a long time to get the drink order. Which then delays the food order. Then the check comes late because the waitress is slow working other tables. One other thing I need to mention. There was a sign posted on the front door that stated that rudeness towards staff will not be tolerated. The sign has come down since the last time. I can't figure out if I'm offended by the sign or not. Are people being rude to the staff because they aren't that good? Or is the sign a comment on the quality of the local patrons? Why can you not just order hashbrowns? Home fries are soft. What is wrong with crunchy? Not even the toast is crunchy. Or the bacon. Basically if you are in absolutely no hurry, you're not rude, and you like soft food, come on down. Plenty of seats. read more

The food was just alright. We were excited to check this place out once it opened, and I'm kind of glad I didn't take the whole family here as it would've been very expensive. I took my son here for lunch. He got half a waffle, home fries, a fruit cup, and a drink. Off the kids menu, all for $6. I got a full waffle with 4 pieces of chicken (2 of them skimpy/small and the breading was bland), and what I thought said choose between home fries or another side just under the section I ordered my food from on the menu. Come to find out when I got the bill that it was a $3.50 additional charge because my order didn't actually come with home fries (that might be on me for not fully reading). All in all, my chicken and waffle, home fries (same amount as my son's), and a drink came to $18 total. 3x my son's total for almost the same amount of food. I just got an extra 2 waffle triangles and the 4 chicken tenders, for $12 more. So for just my son and I, plus tip, a little over $30. Service was really good. Plenty of people running food around, and everyone is really friendly and always checking in on you. Can't knock any of that. Really enjoyed the atmosphere of sitting up at the bar area, watching everyone. :) Really not sure I'd take my whole family here since I wasn't that impressed by the food, and the price point just wasn't worth it in my opinion. Way too expensive for what we got (me in particular). If we do return (my wife really wanted to go and was disappointed to hear our food experience), I'll definitely be ordering from the kids menu lol. It might also be worth noting that while we were sitting at the front, there were a couple of orders during that time that were served burnt or overcooked and got sent back. One was a muffin that was visibly obvious that it looked hard as a rock. One employee running the kitchen window said, yeah I wouldn't have wanted to eat that either lol. Second visit. 100% better than the first! Breakfast this morning, BLT added avocado, side of fruit and a treat of their croissant donuts, original. Service was spot on. Food was fresh, fruit was perfect ratio of grapes, blueberries, strawberries and a couple of melon pieces. All fresh fruit with a nice snap when you bite into them. Those donuts! I understand why it's difficult to keep them in stock! Ambiance has a diner feel, average noise, fun, uplifting atmosphere. Servers and hostesses are cheerful. $30 for breakfast. Just me. Won't make it a habit, especially with $3.49 upcharge for avocado. As an occasional outing, welcome to the neighborhood! read more

Good food; friendly staff; friendly owners. We've been eating here a few times a week for the past few years.

I came here for Mother's Day after church and I didn't have the most pleasant experience. We were given a 30 minute wait estimate that turned into 45 minutes which is when my party decided that it was taking too long and we were okay sitting at separate tables. I ordered the French vanilla iced latte and it was delicious, but all the drinks took a very long time to come out. Our food also took a very long time even though the restaurant wasn't that busy and we put our food orders in with our drinks. I ordered the Grilled Chick and it was completely dry. It came with "secret sauce" but there was barely any on the sandwich and the chicken tasted overcooked. The French fries were good but the home fries weren't hitting like they usually do. My sister ordered the lemon blueberry pancakes and although she enjoyed them she did note that the lemon was VERY strong. We also got free croissant style donuts courtesy of the owner and they were absolutely delicious. Overall I didn't have the worst time but I think this is my last time coming to the Benson location. The Clayton location is more put together and has better/faster service. read more

We've been to other locations of this restaurant, but tried the new Benson NC one today. Service was great, food was delicious, and there was a lot of room in their building. We were seated for 5 right away with no wait even though they were busy for Easter Sunday. This is only 10 min from my house, we'll definitely eat here again! read more

Came in for with my daughter for breakfast. I had the hash and eggs with crispy homefries and sourdough toast. Daughter had the Creme Brulee French toast. Both meals were outstanding. Jamie always kept our coffee full and anticipated our needs. The kitchen was backed up so we had to wait about 45 minutes for our food on a very busy day. We put our phones down and had a darn good time enjoying each other's company. Laughed, joked and didnt mind the wait at all. I see a lot of bad reviews due to wait times. Went back to my hometown to pick something up at my dad's. Had no idea this was even built here!!! Went in and got some fantastic shrimp and grits. Service was solid despite it being fairly busy. The look inside the restaurant is also pretty cool. I had a great experience. read more

I witnessed the owners discriminating a black woman. They kept her waiting over an hour and the owners came out and told her to stop talking about the restaurant or leave. I told the owner it wasn't nice way to treat customers and they told me I was free to leave. Service was terrible. read more

It's a breakfast place with a lot of staff and a friendly atmosphere. We I visited this week I had a ok experience. I order their breakfast platter, it came with 2 eggs, 4 pieces of sausage and 4 pieces of bacon, a biscuit and sausage gravy. The biscuit tasted like it was not homemade and the sausage gravy was thick as paste no flavor. I know they're new to the area, but I will give them one more opportunity, before I make plans to have meeting there. read more

Came on Sunday February 15, got there at 11:08 and sat there for over an hour and never received our food. There were only 4 of us and got coffee and water initially, had to stop someone to get refills. I do not recommend going there until they hire more staff that know what they're doing. This place has potential, but unfortunately they are not ready to be open for business just yet. We went Sunday around 11:30. There was about a 30 min wait which was not an issue. We noticed there were plenty of empty tables, but just thought they either didn't have enough staff or they were allowing the kitchen to catch up. The problem came when it took almost an hour for us to receive our food. The waitress also told us that they were out of home fries even though we saw them bringing them out to other tables. Two of our plates included gravy and the amount we were given was very minimal. We came with patience knowing that they have not been open for a long time, but an hour for breakfast is a really long time. When we were leaving we noticed the table sat before us still didn't have their food. Unfortunately I think they need to take a pause and temporarily close while they focus on training their kitchen staff. We will definitely go back to an Eggs Up Grill, but not this location, at least not for a while. read more
