Whole Truth does it again....my daughter went at my recommendation and picked up food for us. She loves it as much as I do...says the fried chicken is the best ever and lived the great service. She's normally not a banana pudding fan, but she loved what she got here. Can't wait to go back again.

My meal smothered chicken rice and gravy and collard greens. A fried chicken thigh. Moderately priced with dessert is $11.50

This is a restaurant next to a church and appears to be ran by the members of the church. They have a Buffay type serving. They put the food in card bored containers. There's a lot of confusion. They are no signs telling you which way to go in.And the food here is very good. The chicken is nice and crunchy the rice and gravy are good and a banana putting is good. The place is very clean as well

    Everything was delicious! Simple.

Anytime we're in the south we try to find a local restaurant with home cooked meals. I found this on Yelp and that's how we ended up here. It's cafeteria style I guess is the best way to describe it. We had the fried chicken, black eye peas, greens, potato salad, yams, and some sort of fried corn fritters. It was all good. Even the sweet tea was yummy. And they do have Koolaid. But I didn't try it, I regret that. It's not your gourmet spot but just simple cooking just like your granny would make.

I've been coming to this spot since my childhood! I have never been let down! I love the "Whole Truth", because that is what it is!

This joint is located just on South Walnut Street in Wilson, NC. We were in town on a Sunday afternoon looking for some home cooked greens and fried chicken and Honey this place whets your appetite for more than you bargained for. The fried chicken reminds us of the kind Maw-maw would make on Sunday after church. The greens are well prepared, not over cooked and mushy like some places. Don't forget the sweet potatoes and the pie. Place reminds you of back home, growing up. Just the way you like it; real home cook n' Soul food (good for your soul don't you know). Come on down and get you some while it's hot. Try the ham hocks, pig tail, or fat ribs. Open Wed-Sun from 11-5 or 6. Walk on in and pay the cashier after you go through the line. They'll treat you real nice like. The tea was a little too sweet, but other than that it all it's the spot. Don't forget the corn fritters. Mmm-mm, Good!

Yams, Cabbage and Fried Chicken was delicious!

The people were friendly and the food was delicious! I had the cabbage, yams, and fried chicken all of which was delicious and very filling! I especially liked the yams. Service was quick and I was in and out in no time. I will definitely be back!

Good southern food. Service good. Desserts are good. Little pricey but you get a good amount. I like the vegetables.

I was surprised when it came, because I was not expecting a chunk of brisket that thick! The portions are good!!! It's a dark restaurant, not well lit, but I honestly don't mind that kind of vibe. Made it more chill. The service was not the fastest, but it didn't ruin the dinner at all. If I'm ever back in the area, I would come back to this spot.

It is not fancy, but once you try something it is different. This is American Cooking but with a style that is special. See what awaits. When we went in I had worked up at the Rocky Point Markets for furniture both in the spring and the fall of each year. It was always filled with folks from everywhere to shop, and see and buy for the next season. There were plenty of places to have lunch. But when dinner came it was special. The local style of cooking was different. It might have the same meal as you would find in another region, but here it was different as it is based on the cook / chef. Tonight we stopped in and the person helping us was very special. She told us of what was available and what was not. She gave the details and let us order. First we had to have an Arnold Palmer. Naturally, it was different than the person down the block. This was not sweet as usually. It was an equal mike and perfect to have. It gave us something to think about. First up was the Mac & Cheese. But unlike normal Mac & Cheese, with this we ordered shrimp. Not what you expect, this was unique. The Mac & Cheese was a combination of fresh pasta and mixed with four different types of cheese. It was mixed together with a cream and butter. It was not a firm mix but a mix that was moist and tasty with each bit you took. That alone was a meal unto itself. Being mixed with shrimp was different. The shrimp where not small. They were a good size. And there was almost a dozen mixed in. They were not placed onto. Being mixed in they aded to the flavor and taste. There was no spices. Just fresh shrimp with pasta and a cheese mix. A dip of bread helped to take it all in. Next we did have Baby Back Ribs. These were very fresh and tasty. Cooked to the right point hthey literally fell off the bone itself with the touch of a fork. The taste was slightly mixed with honey. Sweet but spicy. Naturally had to have some home made coleslaw with this. Plus an order of sweet potato fries. And these were fresh. Alone with a drink these would have been a good snack to have together. I could have had another plate of these alone. The two dishes were perfect. Yet, we did need to have dessert when the couple at the next table ordered it and shared it. This was Bread Pudding, topped with vanilla ice cream and served with Bourbon sauce. This was heaven itself. You did not need more. There people could have shared this one item. Again, it was freshly made and warm. Ideal. The ice cream was made that morning. And, as for the bourbon, you could have had a glass of this. Spread over the bread pudding it was how we sometime drink an Irish Coffee. Had to have that taste with each bite. Overall, this was a special place to for a meal. It was truly unique for the region and for the chef. The team was a great help. The price was great. As for the people who were there, it was packed. Many came from the places where they are creating the new furniture and items that will be on display for the next market in Rocky Point for next spring. They knew where the place is and what to order. It is truly the right spot for a good meal. It is worth the visit next time I am in town.

You walk in and the young HS or College Busboys/waiters are lined up waiting to assist. It has to be one of the most nostalgic things gs I've seen in a long time. The sweet tea is southern pucker sweet & perfect!! There's malt vinegar on the table for collards, and the NC vinegar based BBQ sauce was very good. However, the chopped pork BBQ did t really need any help, it was just as good on its own and not mushy. I even enjoyed the yellow coleslaw, it's a mustard & vinegar base and tasty. The Brunswick stew could have been heat hotter, but it had a decent taste with plenty of meat & veggies. I would definitely drive out of my way again to share Parker's with my 15yr old who missed this road trip.

Very good with lots of vinegar to add on the table; epic corn sticks and slightly sweetened hush puppies for the table; green beans served southern style just like grandma made them; mustard Cole slaw, a bit too sweet but yummy and Mac and cheese. The good news ... from what they had to offer, the food was quite tasty. The bad news ... the offerings were limited. But the pig is so revered I thought we would see that offered a number of ways, and at least see some baby back ribs on the menu. Not sure this place is named properly as I expected to see more BBQ than anything else on the menu, and that is simply not the case.
