Just picked up a salad today with fried chicken. The chicken was cold and the rolls were hard. Very disappointed.

Went this morning and with only one server working, wasn't a horrible wait. However, one person from our group brought in their Yeti cup that they bring everywhere and happened to leave it. We were a bit away when we realized it and called to check if we left it there. They answered yes and we let them know we would be back. When we went back, we found out that the employee who cleaned off our table -- and answered the phone to let us know it was still there -- STOLE it. Pretty sad. read more

Went for late breakfast/early lunch today with my granddaughter and her other grandmother . We were seated immediately, no issue there. When we ordered drinks the initial waitress took the order and brought the drinks to us fairly fast - so again, so far, so good. We eventually order and the waitress was great about accommodating us for substitutes my granddaughter requested so again, up to this point everything was ok. Then the gnats started becoming visible. I killed one but we couldn't keep up with the infestation. Then our our meal comes and before she took a bite, my granddaughter pointed to a hair baked into the center of her food. New waitress, that brought our meal and took hers away to replace. Then Another "New" waitress brings her food back after its "fIxed" and we eat but are non stop swatting gnats. They were in our faces, hair, trying to get on food and only made me think if it's this bad out here, what's the food area and soda areas like? These gnats are usually in drains and are likely much worse in the back. I couldn't enjoy the meal and honestly, this place needs closed until they treat this infestation!! No one really seemed as if this is an issue they're addressing. I KNOW they saw us swatting these things! Someone should've at least empathized that we had to kill these flying things the entire meal but no one stopped to ask us anything. A waitress who was waiting on another table finally filled my empty coffee cup that sat at the end of the table for half the meal. There was little effort made to attend to us but I did leave a tip. Usually I tip 25% and up- this service only a 15% because of poor service, dirty/ infested restaurant. Sorry folks, will not return here! read more

This was by far the worst experience we have ever had at a Bob Evans. I understand being short staffed and even have extra patience when a restaurant tries to take care of its customers. Our server had to be asked to come take our order after sitting for around 10 minutes. After he took our order he went back and paced a few times then talked to another co worker before he finally brought our drinks, I should have drank slower, that was the only drink I got, no refills at all, even after I asked for more tea. We are truck drivers and were laid over due to truck issues. Fortunately. This place was near our hotel. We stopped in and had breakfast lunch and dinner here and enjoyed being served by Diana and got special attention from Marcus (the manager). The food was great - thanks cooks!! We are new to town, and have never eaten at a Bob Evans. We enter the door at 11:01, and we left at 12:15 PM. The only problem was, I never got to eat. My partner ate and enjoyed his meal, but my meal never showed up until we asked for the check and we're ready to leave. Instead of comping me, the one meal that I never got to eat, I was asked to pay for the meal that was put into a go box. The best the cashier could come up with was "10% off", but the manager couldn't be bothered to come out of the kitchen. What might you ask was my meal? A cheeseburger. I visited this Bob Evans for breakfast and got the basic sausage links, scrambled eggs home fries and toast with a cup of coffee - I think it was called the "Good Morning America Get Your Butt Out of Bed and Have Some Greasy Fried Food Breakfast" or something like that. It's in a great location just off of I-70. Service was OK, nothing special as my waitress was pleasant enough and did her job perfunctorily. ( Been dying to use that word in a review ). The food though, well, it wasn't bad. I've seen this before at Bob Evans and I'm just not finding it has much flavor. Are my taste buds jaded? Are they burned out from eating too much Thai and Schezuan? I'm stumped. It just seems bland anymore. I'd go back there again but it's not at the top of my list of places to go back to. read more

Let me just start by saying our waitress was great, super friendly. However the food? Such a rip off! Now I'm not naive, the food is never going to look like the pictures but my Pot Roast? Not even close. They weren't busy at all (maybe five tables, tops.), my coworker ordered the turkey. Said there was a funny taste to the stuffing, neither of us received carrots at first. Then the waitress brought some out for him but not me. He ordered a side Caesar salad, it took the "new cook" until we had both finished our main meals to figure out how to make and even then my coworker said it was awful. They also left off the cranberry relish for the turkey meal. Very bland, almost box tasting mashed potatoes. In order for me to leave a one-star review, a place has to either be filthy, or the service so bad that it merits the worst rating. It was clean, and the waitress was friendly, but those are the only attributes. While I can't give this place a 1, read this review as a weak 2. I was in Springfield for three days, and noticed the Bob Evans across the street from the hotel I was staying in. In driving around town, I noticed quite a few Bob Evans trucks. There was some sort of truck yard full of their trailers. I'm not sure if this is their headquarters, but there was quite a bit of their presence in the area. When leaving the hotel on the third day, I figured that there had to be some super fresh good food here; I decided to have lunch at the restaurant. I ordered a turkey bacon melt - minus the bacon, and a bowl of their chicken noodle soup. Neither was impressive. I was stunned when the soup came - there was no visible liquid in the soup. It was a bowl full of damp noodles and chicken chunks. My first instinct was to send it back, but what can you do when all of the water is gone from a soup? "Hey, tell the cook to pour some water on this soup???" They served it this way. It's not like they didn't see that there's no broth in the soup. I decided to go with it. It was tasty, but I didn't want a bowl of noodles; I wanted chicken noodle soup. As for the turkey melt, well, it's not like there was a generous amount of turkey, but worse than that was the cheese. When you buy cheese in the grocery store, you can buy a package of the really, really, cheap stuff for like, $1.89 for 24 slices, or you can buy the good deli cheese. The cheese on my turkey sandwich must have been the worst quality artificially colored and flavored pasteurized processed cheese product that is commercially available - exposed for its quality because it wasn't even fully melted. An unbelievably poor quality product in a town where one should expect some pride in what they seve. Perhaps Bob Evans does a better job at breakfast since it sells breakfast sausage, nationally. But in a world where we have Jason's Deli and Panera Bread, this poor quality of food is unacceptable. I'll plant my butt in a Denny's or an IHOP before I'll ever go to a Bob Evans again. On this occasion, I'm sure I would have found better food at the neighboring Cracker Barrel. On the way out, I stopped to look at the photo on the wall of (evidently) the original founder of the chain. The original Mr. Bob Evans could not be proud of this food. I'd bet my Crown Jewels that this is a typical story where the original family is no longer involved in the daily operation of the "family" business. Waffle House is even better than this - scattered and smothered as it is. Based on my visit here, in their home territory, I'm calling Bob Evans the WORST RESTAURANT CHAIN IN AMERICA! This place sets a new low for restaurant chains. read more

This location can be a hit or miss depending on who you get as a server. But it's usually a hit. What's great about Bob Evans is that you can always rely on them. The food is always good no matter which one you go too. I mean, it's not fantastic, it's just good, safe food. This is also one of the updated location, I know the restaurants are all being updated, and this is one of them. The general manager that works during is a really nice guy too. He's probably one of the friendliest managers I have encountered at any restaurant. As I said before it depends on service, sometimes I have a really friendly server, other times I get someone who acts like they hate life. read more

It took another 10 minutes before we received our drinks and our food order was taken. We waited 45 minutes in total before our food arrived and were told there were no biscuits to go with our meal. We were offered a corner table. Before sitting, we looked at the floor and it was not clean. There were napkins, straws, and food bits all around the entire floor area.The whole public dining area was dirty.I always thought if the public area is filthy then the kitchen is probably worse. We would not eat here. As we were leaving, I asked the manager why the store was so dirty. He said they were going to replace the carpet and apologized. My husband and I are in town staying at the Quality Inn and placed an online order. We arrived to pickup our order at the time we requested it to be ready. The girl behind counter said they just started cooking the food because she didn't see that the order has been placed. So 15 min later we finally got our to go order. We take it back to hotel to eat and once we arrived in room we started to unpack and noticed they didn't give us any silverware. I called the restaurant and told the girl who answered the phone they forgot silverware. She told me we didn't forget, we don't place any silverware in to go orders unless customers requests. I told her we were from out of town and didn't know, so maybe you should ask customers if they need them. She didn't have anything to say just asked if I wanted to speak to manager. At this point I'm very upset and decided just to give up and hung the phone up. We will never eat here again nor will we recommend this place to anyone. read more
