The service is great (the owner is lovely), and the bouquets/vases I've received from the Modest Florist are always beautiful. Whenever I need a vase to take to someone local, I'll be buying them here! The delivery service is also very convenient! I feel lucky to have them in Hampden!

We wanted to arrange flowers ourselves for a memorial party and Avalon was so helpful in picking types of flowers that would fit the vibe and color palette we were looking for. All I had to tell her was the event, sizes and quantity of vases and about my grandmothers personality and she designed the order perfectly! She took the stress out of having to choose my own and place a bulk order online, she is so detail oriented and even chose greenery that would accent the flowers chosen. She even timed when to take them out of fridges and when to cut them so they opened perfectly for the event time. Everyone at the party raved about how wonderful the flowers looked and knew my grandmother would have loved them. If I had to do this on my own it would have been terrible, I definitely would not have known to order certain types and colors that Avalon knew would add pops of color & detail like we wanted. So I visited the Flower Cart to see what they had (after having driven by it earlier in the week). They did not have what I was looking for. The very helpful florist let me know that as soon as I inquired. I wasn't about to visit another place so I perused what they did have. They had some loose flowers that I could've purchased separately and built my own bouquet or they had one, yes one, lonely bouquet already made. It was beautiful so I opted for that. The Flower Cart was pricier than I normally pay but the quality of it was better. The recipient had nice things to say which isn't usually the case with the grocery store versions. Also, and this probably goes without saying, they had a lot less options than the grocery stores I normally go to. As an independent flower shop, I can understand not having a lot of premade bouquets for pop in visitors when you offer same day and next day bouquets that can be ordered on your website. They will even deliver around the Baltimore area. Still, I was pleased with my drop in visit of the Flower Cart and look forward to seeing what they can do when I actually order ahead of time.

Parking was a little challenge because their were not many available spots. I arrived when they opened. Others had the same idea. Buckets of different types of flowers and greenery were placed on a table in the center of the shop. My grandson and I were greeted as soon as we entered. You were able to pick the stems of your choice. Once picked you took your flowers to another table to be cut and arranged in beautiful bouquets. The entire staff was very friendly. Once your flowers were arranged, you were able to take them to the counter for payment. I purchased 32 stems which cost $20.00 plus tax. I was able to get 5 different bouquets out of them. I was truly pleased with my total experience. The flowers smelled amazing and they bought smiles to the people that we purchased them for.
