I just wanted to give a shout-out to Janda Florists. I wanted flowers for my Mama for Mother's Day and gave this local shop a call. I didn't know what to expect, because the shop was closed due to COVID measures. They had limited inventory (mind you, I waited until only a few days before Mother's Day) and the prices were steep. Still, I wanted to gift my mother a petunia hanging basket and so I placed my order. The lady in charge of entering and processing my order did a fantastic job. It was seamless. She promised me she would "pick out a nice one" and boy did she; the purple petunia hanging basket was full and healthy, it overflowed -- and it was the smallest (cheapest) I could buy (afford). My mother adored the flowers and you could tell that this local business puts their hearts into fulfilling orders. It was easy, seamless, and in the end, worth every dollar spent. I'm extremely disappointed with this florist's bouquets. I ordered birthday flowers and paid over $90 and got this bouquet. It's so underwhelming and for the price, I honestly regret spending my money. I could have gotten more beautiful flowers from teleflora or Trader Joe's if I could. I was told the bright and cheery bouquet would be delivered to the recipient and this is what I got. It sucks considering this was my second time ordering form this business. If they had delivered real bright and beautiful flowers, I would have used them long term. This bouquet has mostly green and looks like I was given the last of the flowers available for the day. Excellent delivery and confirmation that I received via text, I was on a business call and they actually were coming back to get them because it was raining - I was able to let them know I was going to bring them in. I needed a silk flower arrangement in no pinch for a relative who was in the hospital. I called the store to ensure that this florist carried a decent selection of silk arrangements and was told by a very friendly and helpful employee that they had plenty in stock, offering some different options that were available. I stopped in the store twenty minutes later and the same woman helped me hunt down all of the available silk gerber daisy arrangements in the store, making sure I was happy with the one I chose. She helped me check out, packing my arrangement in a cute paper bag with colored tissue paper. I think Janda could get better quality roses. I received roses several times and they always seem to start wilt approximately 5 days later. Their other flowers seem to be just fine. They do arrange them beautifully. In my opinion I would not buy roses from them if you want them to last more then a week. read more

I don't know where to start... AMAZING service, INCREDIBLE value, CONSISTENTLY exceeds expectations in all areas, PROFESSIONAL, and always-CLASSY, BEAUTIFUL arrangements whether $15 or $100. My family's been using Janda exclusively for flowers for years now, and they've done my wedding, my brother's wedding and rehearsal dinner, various showers, my cousin's wedding, and most recently my husband's best-friend's wedding. Every single time, people ask "Who did your flowers?!" There are florists doing work of this caliber in the Baltimore-Washington area, but they generally come with a double or triple price point and a whole lot of attitude to boot. Janda folks are just the nicest people ever, and they're incredibly talented and passionate about their work. Don't let the tiny size of their unassuming strip-mall shop fool you! I've worked with both Don and Joann and they have exquisite taste. On WeddingWire, I had more than a dozen people comment specifically on my flowers, and three emailed me privately asking for the name of my florist. People said "THAT'S what I want and i've been trying to explain to my florist!!!" The price is excellent, and the quality top-notch. Even 24 hours without water, the bridesmaid bouquets were still looking almost as good as at the wedding, enough so that we ended up trimming the ends and putting them back into a vase at home - and they revived beautifully. The hydrangeas they did for my wedding shower lasted TWO WEEKS after i brought them home (of course with regular trimming of the stems). For my friend's wedding, they did incredible natural, rustic bouquets with petite wax flowers, billy balls, fresh lavender, yellow roses, and greens, plus white anemonies for the bridal bouquet. But they didn't just use boring greens when they built it out - they added fragrant rosemary and green peppercorn sprigs, in addition to other interesting 'rustic' field flowers. All night, people kept asking to smell the bouquets LOL! The bride's bouquet was so beautiful, when we put it into the mercury glass vase on the head table it looked like something you'd see in an oil painting. And the boutonniers... working off of the venue photos, they decided to wrap the boutonniers in a dark brown twine all the way up the stems, to mirror the wrap on the bride's bouquet. People couldn't stop talking about them - and seriously, who ever comments on boutonniers?! They will deliver to the local area for $10, with Baltimore City $15. That's the same price as one of the online companies whose name you know - but you're not going to get anything like what Janda offers from those commercial brands. I can't recommend these guys enough - they are truly a 5-star company, and they deserve your business. read more

Amazing florist! They always have the freshest flowers. My boyfriend orders from them all the time, they deliver in a nice vase (none of that flowers in a box stuff) He selected a rose and lily arrangement because those are my absolute favorite but sadly it came without lilies. He emailed them to tell them how lilies were my favorite and the arrangement didn't come with any. They explained that their lilies from that day were not fresh and didn't want to send them but they sent a make up bouquet the following week with the prettiest lilies! They totally didn't have to! I do not recommend this florist. I ordered my daughter's wedding flowers from them and I was very disappointement at the bridal bouquet. When I called the manager to explain that all looked good except the bridal bouquet, She said some customers are not happy no matter what. She said that you choose the flowers and this is how it is. The picture's of what you are ordering vs what is delivered are far from each other. I expected some variance, but other than being red roses, it wasn't even close. Very disappointed with the flowers that were delivered for a birthday occasion. Arrangement was sloppy and looked like it came from a grocery store. I asked for pink tulips ( which the clerk said were available) and they were white. The recipient ( at my request) sent a "before" photo and then another after she re arranged the bouquet. I came into the shop on a Tuesday to order flowers for an anniversary on Friday. I walked through the cases with an associate and picked out the vase and particular flowers to be put in the arrangement. The staff in general was friendly and helpful in personalizing the arrangement to be delivered on Friday. However, when the arrangement arrived it was not what I had ordered at all. I spent a good deal of money on the arrangement to have it arrive with 4 flowers...4 FLOWERS total. The flowers were lost in a fold a rumpled greenery and the particular flowers that I picked out to go into the arrangement were never put in. Since it was a special occasion, you can imagine my disappoint to find out that the personalized arrangement instructions were ignored and something completely different was thrown together. I would expect it to look haphazardly put together if I had rushed to have it done the day before, but I felt I gave ample notice and resources at their disposal to create the order. If I had wanted something so impersonal, I would have ordered an arrangement online but I took to the time to see the process through so it would be special and the florist completely dropped the ball. The arrangement was for a guy, masculine with white accents and the particular flowers I picked out was not in the arrangement that was delivered. It was such a disappointment and shock to read all the great reviews and then to have an experience such as this. Upon calling the business to explain my reservations about the flower arrangement, they didn't offer much if any explanation other than the instructions were not specific and "What do you want us to do?". I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism and was deeply upset that even though I carefully went through the process in order to make the arrangement a reflection of the recipient it was for, the order was handled without an ounce of care. read more
