Our church had a church trip planned and I brought the church van in to have it checked before the trip. Another shop did the estimate for repairs but would not honor the aftermarket warranty . Tuffy was recommended because of ability to honor warranty. Long and short. Brought to Miller Rd Thursday and was informed by steve to bring in Friday at 10:00am and there was good chance to be ready by COB. Warranty was called, videos sent, emails sent with time-Stamped info. Somehow there was miscue between the Shop and warranty company. while waiting for response from warrant, the shop went forward and did the work and anticipating to hear back from warranty. Ends up, church van was kept overnight Friday into Saturday, following Monday Warranty company denies claim to pay for work done "without their authorization", church has to come out pocket $580+ (NOTE: Owner Steve did try to work with me taking about $264 off the labor portion and we pay for parts. The crew working under Steve, the SUPV and some of techs were showing and giving the feeling of "dismissal" and excuses about van being ready and not communicating with other shift or crew. Overall just not a good experience. Have to admit the other part-owner tried to assist as well. I am on the fence on whether to have a return visit for service but would consider due to their shop ability to honor warranty work

Sence the engine was replaced we have had it back 3 times for the same problem. Lights turn on car won't start. All 3 times they tell me all set car is fixed. I talked to the salesman today and he tells me the car is only worth 3000 we owe 9000. You wold think they would try to keep a customer happy as of right now I will never come back. It was a blown engine (rod, cylinder, bearing, who knows the cause at this point). Spoke with the owner Charles who was fantastic and filled with integrity. The mechanic Gareth replaced the engine and had the car back in a week (there were other issues as a result of shrapnel shooting out of the block). 600 miles on the 76k used engine and so far no issues. Mr. Hoover (Charles) also let me know, and I trust him, if there's an issue he will make it right. I did consult a couple of other mechanics and they said that the work was being done at a very reasonable price (one said it was cheaper than he could do, especially the price of the engine). Most people need to realize cars a crap shoot. Quality integrity and workmanship is a skill though.

I always like to support local business but will never take a car here again. I was given different prices, the owner attempted to charge me multiple times for the same services, including towing. Even upon completion he stated I could have the car towed home. After well over $2,000 in repairs I refuse to have to tow a car that should be working properly when it leave the repair shop. I do not wish to go back and forward with the owner via social media but have all my receipts, including all estimates from the Hoover & Sons that I am more than happy to post if there is any denial by the owner. I have not lived in Michigan in over 10 years but my mom does and I was hoping to still be able to support local business for the care of her 1959 Ford Fairlane.
