Our home was perfectly painted 10 years ago by Gary Migale Painting in Novato. Gary has since retired, but a number of the Migale painters then went to work for Bob Kunst Painting. When we hired Kunst for significant interior painting, we asked for one of the former Migale painters, and they were obliging. Kunst send a staff painter, Edgar, to do the work. The painting was top-flight. No big surprise here! Painting tape and painter's paper was everywhere. Then I looked. Not a single spill or wavy margin. This is the quality painting where you cannot tell if a wall or baseboard has been repainted - except that it now looks new again! The painter himself was super courteous, and did everything we asked - and more. For this kind of quality painting, the price was perfectly fair and reasonable. I cannot believe that in years past I hired painters who seemed competent, and charged less, only to find window panes with paint on them, and evidence everywhere of repainting. For those of you who know about matchless quality interior painting, okay, I am preaching to the choir. Bob Kunst Painting painted the exterior of my San Rafael town home. They caulked, sealed, sanded, replaced rotten trim and completely prepared all surfaces prior to painting. Mike Busick oversaw the painters on a daily basis (always two guys sometimes three or four). Mike helped us pick paint colors even mixing colors to get it exactly right. They finished the job on schedule working from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM weekdays. We were so pleased with the exterior paint job we asked Mike for an interior paint quote. When Mike was looking at the interior of our house he mentioned that he could paint our kitchen and bathroom cabinets inside and out and they would look great. We had been looking into bathroom and kitchen remodeling because we wanted to replace our brown outdated cabinets. Having Bob Kunst Painting paint our cabinets white instead of replacing the cabinets made it possible to replace counter tops in the bathroom and kitchen at a fraction of the cost of a full kitchen and bathroom remodel. We recently purchased a home and needed some painting. In addition, the previous owner did not have much attention to detail with his painting and with those he hired. John was professional and helpful and gave an honest assessment of the needs of the house. We both noticed patches of mismatched colors and wear. We decided to pain the entire house, including areas that were recently but poorly painted by another company. Communication was great with daily updates, honest estimates, and a personal visit the morning the project began. Quickly I appreciated their approach to painting. They spent several days just prepping the surfaces carefully. The body was smooth with a great finish, and the trim was bright and crisp. They even made the effort to paint small details like the exposed concrete foundation, the alarm bell box, the external cable and telephone boxes, and the roof fixtures. We have worked with Tom on two separate exterior projects over the past several years, one a shingled home in Fairfax and another with stucco and wood siding in Greenbrae. I have to say that we have been very impressed with our experience in both situations. The projects were very different in nature. The shingles are a completely different animal (cleaned, stained) than the more traditional home. Tom and his crew turned out exceptional work in both situations. Not only is the end product great but Tom is wonderful to work with, communication is very easy, etc. He was patient with us when we took time deciding on colors and his crew is very friendly. Exceptional quality and superb management. Mike Busick wrote an estimate for power washing, scaffolding, and painting the outside of our house. The crew was meticulous, friendly, polite, clean, orderly (putting all equipment and cleaning after themselves each evening), never hesitating to do some small extras such as repainting outdoors dining tables. Mike stopped by nearly every day, making sure that there were no issues and that his crew had everything they needed. He always asked their opinion respecting their views as opposed to shouting directions. The painting was completed on time and precisely according to the estimate despite some scheduling challenges due to the late April rain. This was no surprise.
