The place is immaculate, with a really nice ambiance, but what sets it apart is the wonderful staff. They know that my dad and I are just exploring and viewing the airplanes, but they've always made us feel just as welcome as everybody else and never made us feel unwelcome! *I'd like to clarify that we're not loitering or anything like that, we just like to take walks around the airport while plane spotting and maybe one a year pop in, say hi, and enjoy the views :⁠-⁠)

I took the 10:10 from Old Town to LA - Union Station. I opted for a business class seat. It was a…read moregood thing, too, because Coach was standing room only for most of the ride. The Business class seat was amply sized and had a good amount of leg room. There were also easy to access electrical outlets next to my window seat. While I don't love sitting backwards, I did like the view from the big window. The seat next to mine was also empty, so I had plenty of space. Lots of cool ocean and town views from the right side of the train! The included snack amenities included OJ, bottled water, coffee/tea & danishes. While the conductor indicated that snack boxes would be delivered at noon, no such boxes ever made an appearance. The bathroom was okay, but nothing spectacular. Overall, the ride was efficient and pleasant, and it was much better than sitting in traffic for hours and dealing with driving hassles or flying up. Peace.

The complimentary sodas and simple snacks weren't anything fancy, but definitely a nice little bonus on a longer ride. We traveled up the coast and while the seats going up weren't quite as nice as the ones on the way back, the overall experience was still so good. Way more relaxing than flying--comfortable seats, no airport chaos, and actual room to breathe. My little one was completely obsessed with the window views--watching the waves roll in and the beaches pass by was such a highlight. I even got some quality quiet time and managed to read a book, which never happens. Overall, such a fun, easy, and scenic experience. Highly recommend for a day trip if you want something convenient but still feels like a little adventure.

I recently booked a very important, last minute flight from San Diego to Austin, Texas…read more I initially left a message with them rather late in the evening and was surprised and impressed that within a few minutes, Kelly who works in booking reached out to me to discuss my aircraft options, times, and dates. Schubach Aviation is a first class private aircraft service, with an ARGUS Platinum safety rating - which is a top priority for me. Kelly researched my options and by the next morning I was able to book the flight. The entire experience with Schubach Aviation was excellent - from the booking, the flight to Austin and then back to San Diego. I would definitely book with them again! Both Kelly and her co-worker in booking were outstanding.

We came for an event for Ranch & Coast Magazine's Best Of Party! What an amazing special event…read morevenue and space. They had Ace Parking Valet cars and the red carpet through the private jets was epic. They had a private jet as a step and repeat background which was so creative and one of a kind. The beautiful private jets themselves were open for public viewing and it was quite the treat to pop in and see the newer planes! The event space in the hangar was amazing too! Such a great idea for an event space!

In 1987 I voted to raise my taxes with TransNet to extend the trolley to UTC expecting to take the…read moretrolley downtown to Comic Con.  Seems the government spent all that money and asked for more money in 2004 with TransNet 2.  This time they actually started working on the trolley.  I watched them as they were building the line and they finished it in 2021.  It was cool watching them dig a huge hole for the base of the steel reinforced concrete columns.  Then they added steel.  Then they put a mold around the steel and added concrete. In July 2022 I rode the Blue Line Trolley to Comic Con.  It took about an hour as I had to transfer to a 2nd trolley line in order to get to the Convention Center from UTC.  The price was $5 for a day pass which I found quite reasonable.  The trolley was pretty new and they kept it clean.  Ride was smooth.  Not too many people riding the Blue Line. I like riding the trolley and plan on taking it whenever I go to Comic Con or jury duty as it's cheaper than paying for parking. This is a the only and I mean the only transit station in rancho Bernardo you get the the 20 bus…read moregoes back downtown down here the 235 comes here the 290 and one more other but otherwise there are no bathrooms nothing to eat it's nothing but a park and drive Park and Ride place it's right next to the highway it's open most the time what's the nice it has a really nice view of it too basically like I said this is the only place in rancho Bernardo you get a bus unless you go down on the main Street which is only the 20 bus that goes from rancho Bernardo and all the way back to downtown San Diegon otherwise you have to go down to the transit center to get the 235 to go back downtown which is the cheapest one you get the other one cost like $5 just to get on the bus unless you have one of the really expensive bus passes which cost $100 when the regular bus pass cost $72 a month

The "Coaster." Go…read moreanywhere up and down the San Diego County coast for a few bucks on new, quiet, and clean trains. (I suppose trains like this stay this clean and pristine because San Diego hasn't got Chicago's awful weather). I took the Coaster to Old Town to meet a friend for dinner before I went to the airport on my way out of town. Service operates primarily during weekday peak periods, but there is also limited weekday midday, Friday evening, and Saturday service. Special evening service is provided when the San Diego Padres play Monday-Thursday evening home games. The only thing that bugged me is there was no one to collect the ticket I bought at the station before boarding. This was 100% honor system, and I suspect it's widely abused to the disadvantage of the transit authority, but maybe they save more money than they lose this way by not employing conductors.
