In 1987 I voted to raise my taxes with TransNet to extend the trolley to UTC expecting to take the…read moretrolley downtown to Comic Con.  Seems the government spent all that money and asked for more money in 2004 with TransNet 2.  This time they actually started working on the trolley.  I watched them as they were building the line and they finished it in 2021.  It was cool watching them dig a huge hole for the base of the steel reinforced concrete columns.  Then they added steel.  Then they put a mold around the steel and added concrete. In July 2022 I rode the Blue Line Trolley to Comic Con.  It took about an hour as I had to transfer to a 2nd trolley line in order to get to the Convention Center from UTC.  The price was $5 for a day pass which I found quite reasonable.  The trolley was pretty new and they kept it clean.  Ride was smooth.  Not too many people riding the Blue Line. I like riding the trolley and plan on taking it whenever I go to Comic Con or jury duty as it's cheaper than paying for parking. This rest area has a lot of potential to be really wonderful, with its amenities, a nice park like atmosphere, and an ocean view. Outside, there is a place where you can buy drinks, and there is also plenty of parking. Inside, it is quite clean for a public restroom facility. It's just a simple stop along the way, but it's comfortable enough when you need a break on the road.

Well, if you haven't, you can correct that deficiency at McClellan Palomar Airport. It's just a few miles from downtown Carlsbad and offers a fantastic alternative to busy San Diego International Airport, if you're headed out this way. It's newly remodeled and services a mix of private jets, charters, and a handful of commercial flights. United Airlines flies to/from San Francisco and Denver and American Airlines flies to/from Phoenix. I dropped off my son and daughter-in-law yesterday for their flight home to San Francisco, and the experience of driving into the airport and terminal was a lot easier than what I've run into at a few shopping malls. We have quite a few relatives around Carlsbad and the North Country, and I can't wait to fly into this friendly low-stress airport on our next visit.

Skate hoodlums and bottle collectors use this station as a jumping off spot to make tourists uneasy and regretting their decision to head East towards Escondido rather than South towards San Diego. Overall, a great place to puke onto old railways before rallying for a Sculpin at Larry's after exiting in Oceanside.

Friendly grounds- maintenance staff (Gardner) Cons- really tight spots, trains over night running close with horns, really unfriendly office staff - there was an older women maybe in her 60s that told our daughter she couldn't ride her bike in the empty spots. These spots were empty the entire trip and I was able to watch my disabled son while keeping eyes on her. The woman took it upon herself to tell her ride somewhere else and not discuss it directly with us. When my husband confronted her, she told us to read our bi- laws. They were not in the bi laws. She kept going around looking for citations on campers - very miserable woman. Just know if you're going to camp here she's likely going to try to make your time miserable. Someone please take away her assistant manager push pin someone gave her. She's clearly chasing business away.

The last two or three years really was the peak of quality and service! This trip was a sad let down, the things we had come to expect and look forward to were not remotely close. Spaces were NOT cleaned between campers, this used to be the norm! Staff used to be very present and maintained a level of connection with campers while making sure they helped with any issues and made sure rules were being followed. The pool was heated this trip but the area around it was not as well maintained and the hot tub was WAY TOO HOT! It was dangerously hot, enough it gave my husband heat stroke! He was wiped out for the whole night. It was very VERY hot, was checked and was over 107 degrees. The staff was very hands off, unprofessional and not present. The park was dirty, you can tell the gardeners and maintenance staff were not maintaining like they use to. We stayed for 12 nights and never ONCE saw someone cleaning or trimming etc. They have now imposed a $10 per delivery fee for packages that are delivered to the campground. This is however not posted on TT website or the Oceanside RV Resort site. Its just a sign on their post board out in front of their office that we are supposed to read when arriving. Scammy to me and very very ridiculous for long term guests. Overall the location and price are hard to beat, so we will be back but I am in no rush based off this trip. The prior management and staff really had a care for their guests experiences and showed it in their work. Sad to say that Oceanside RV Resort has definitely peaked and is on the downward fall for sure!

Very disappointing that after multiple phone calls to confirm the flight he never showed. After three phone calls this morning, 45 minutes after we were supposed to take off the pilot called back to say oh sorry my mistake I screwed up. That's it. Thank God we found another flight in San Diego to take but I would not recommend flying with this guy. If he can't even figure out how to get to a booked flight on time, how in the world can he fly a plane?

From Tacos & Margaritas to Pizza and Wine to Simosa's & Ice Cream we got to experience a variety of ambiances, foods and drinks special to Newport Beach. We got to learn a bit about the restaurants we dined at, the history behind the food we were served and experience the true culture of Newport Beach. Ben was our guide and he was very knowledgeable, passionate and made it a great time for us! Looking forward to trying the Laguna Beach food tour next!

This review is for the Swell building…read more COVID-19 ruined our annual Hawai'i trip...WAAAAAAHHHHH!!! Since hubby and I had time off, we decided to do something a little bit local, but far enough to feel like we were away from Orange County. So, we traveled south to Carlsbad. We packed up the kids and headed to the 2 bed 2 bath Wave unit in the Swell building. We were fortunate to be given early check in. Self check in was a breeze with the emailed instructions. Super cool feature: ELECTRONIC LOCKS! I felt like I was using The Force every time I waved my hand in front of the lock. There is a shed full of beach chairs, boogie boards, sand toys, a couple of soft top surfboards, umbrellas, and I think some canopies. Barbecues have dedicated gas lines. Oh, there's a game room! We got my son off the electronics long enough for a spirited game of foosball...the game room also includes Ms Pacman, an old school pinball machine and shuffleboard. There is also an outdoor shower with HOT WATER that my surfer dude relished. Speaking of hot water...on day 2, hubby went out for dawn patrol. When he came back from his early AM surf, he was looking forward to a hot shower. Our shower would not heat up! The other shower and every faucet in the unit ran hot water, but for some reason, our bathroom shower did not. I texted property management, they promptly replied, came in an hour to verify my findings, and sent a plumber to make repairs. Thank goodness for the in-unit washer and dryer. I threw in a beach towel in the dryer to defrost my hubsicle. Great management, awesome property. We hope to check out their other rentals! We appreciate the amenities and know we'll be taken care of should the need arise.
