White water rafting with BOB Rafting was so much fun! the guides were super knowledgeable and the rapids were fun. also Bob was super nice, offering us snacks and water, all for free. All the equipment is included in the price and we got to swim off the raft in the quieter parts of the river. 10/10 would go again! Starts off at the dexter location, you get equipment then get on a bus for a 10-15 min drive up the river. takes about 1-1.5 hrs to get down the river, and then its just a 5 minute bus ride back to the building from there. read more

We had an amazing time rafting with Bob. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming. The river was high and it was a great time. They supply items that other companies charge you to use (nylon jackets, water shoes). The staff was very entertaining on the water and the history of the river was very interesting. I think the best part was not having to carry our raft back to the bus. When the day was over we boarded the bus and headed back to the business. I have done this river before and I know other companies have rafters carry the boats uphill and load the boats. It was nice to just head back. Thank you for a great time. Such a blast!! If you have been thinking about White Water Rafting... DO IT!! If you're local to Watertown - DO IT!! If you're visiting the area- DO IT!! We went with a group of 14, some it was their first time rafting and some had been a time or two, Seth and Scott were our guides and both boats argued that we each had the BEST guide! Hopper was our safety kayaker (thankfully - we all stayed in the boat). Not once did we feel unsafe. Both Scott and Seth made our experience enjoyable, FUN, informative and did I say FUN!!! Went with a group of six which included our good friends and both of our teenaged boys. I booked the experience over the phone after speaking directly with Bob who was warm and friendly and informative. Upon arrival day the staff continued to provide that same level of service and charm making our first time white water rafting experience a memorable one. The instructions were easy to remember and execute after a bit of hands on instruction, and our guide was absolutely great! This was for sure a fun time even though I fell out of the boat once. Don't worry I was pulled quickly back in. Not gonna lie this was out of my comfort zone, however I would totally do this again and recommend this experience to others. Absolutely amazing trip!!! Everyone was super helpful. Reservation process- simple and informative Day of Trip- they got us set up w no cost wet suit and shoes, helmets, paddles. Took very short bus ride to launch site and from there is was white water, laughs and memory making!!! Post trip- photos were awesome!! Chicken BBQ was delicious. We enjoy our lunch on back deck. Had the pleasure of taking a trip recently with B.O.B. Rafting and it was great! We were a party of 13 split between two rafts and every single person had an incredible time. The B.O.B. crew are very skilled and great coaches, and they made sure our excursion was amazing! We were in the river for about an hour and a half, navigating many sets of exciting rapids as well as enjoying some scenic floats through calmer areas. There is a portage area about midway, requiring the raft to be carried a short distance around a dam, where we took a break and received snacks & drinks. The trip concluded with the opportunity to get in and swim the rapids, which was very fun! Their location has a large outdoor deck with plenty of tables, where we were able to enjoy a post trip picnic to relax and chat with the crew some more. They also took many great pictures to commemorate the trip. Such a truly nice and welcoming group and we enjoyed them so much! B.O.B. Rafting is a fabulous family business and we were blown away by their hospitality and how fun they made the day. Exactly the sort of small business you can feel great about supporting! We've been going here for the past three years. Bob and his wife, Sue, are so nice and down to earth. For $59/pp (or $50 if you go on Memorial Day or Labor Day weekend, they also have other discounted prices for group or military) you get an awesome experience, with a ziti & chicken BBQ picnic on the back patio at the end and great guides. The trip is Approximately a 2 hour ride (6 miles). We request Scotty every time, he is knowledgeable, funny and nice! This was so much fun! I would recommend BOB Rafting to all my friends and other Yelpers! Even though we took our trip in August, (in exceptionally lower water because of this drought!), we all had such a blast! The Black River was a great experience, and the dam release provides category 4 rapids no matter what time of the year you go! I've fallen in love with whitewater after that trip, and need more! BOB Rafting (especially our guides Mike and Bernie) did a great job of providing safety and the best value for our trip. RAFTING! EXTREME! BLOOD AND THUNDER! EXTREME!!!!!! my first time rafting and I am glad to say it was with Bob's crew! Sam was the guide for my raft. pointed out a lot of interesting facts about things we'd pass, and was a great instructor. Seth gave us the overall safety info and Scotty drove the reformatted school bus which transported all of us from the storefront to the river. all the required safety gear - vest and helmet - was checked over multiple times before we hit the water. we split our group of 8 guys into 2 boats, which worked well since half of us were newbies and half of us were more experienced. you also get a few chances to go swimming in the calmer sections. the whole experience is a total adrenaline rush, a great workout, and takes a little over 2 hours. halfway through there's a break for granola bars and water. at the end, when you return to the store, lunch is provided: baked ziti, BBQ chicken, salad, rolls, and lemonade. in total, it runs about 60 bucks a head, which seemed fair. highly advisable: wear swimming shorts, a shirt that isn't cotton, and water shoes. also, leave your valuables in your car; you won't need them and you don't want to lose them. everything was handled safely, professionally, flawlessly, and we had a total blast. major props to Bob (though we didn't get to meet him) and his staff! read more

This was my first ever rafting experience. One of the best outdoor activity I have ever done. Bob, his wife and the entire crew were amazingly good and super friendly. I didnt even know that they arrange for food at the end of trip which was delicious and even included vegetarian options - a huge plus for me. They have your photos taken at strategic locations throughout the trip and you can buy a CD full of beautiful captures of all your moments in action. We had a wonderful day rafting the black river out of Dexter. Scotty, our guide, shared lots of knowledge about the local area, interspersed with friendly jokes. The entire team worked well together & we felt safe with them. We were traveling up from Florida & didn't have croakies for our sunglasses or water shoes but they kindly loaned us both. Afterwards, they even fed us a delicious lunch of salad, ziti & BBQ chicken, a nice touch. The office had bathrooms & changing areas for getting out of wet clothing afterwards.
