When we showed up to the camp ground we immediately knew it was the kind of place we wouldn't mind waiting before we got on the bus to rafting. Not only were there activities such as corn hole and volleyball, there were a few friendly dogs playing on the premise. Keep in mind, we haven't even gotten to the water and we were already having a good time. In regards to the staff, we were extremely impressed by how friendly they are. It was almost foreign to us to be around such upbeat, laid-back people. Our tour guide, Dylan, talked to us like we were already his friends. There was not one time our group felt uncomfortable. Even if you decide to go alone, your group will take you in as their own. Finally, and probably the most important part, is how much fun rafting was. Honestly, we were all freaking out for no reason. The guides were so skillful and helpful that even the most intimidating looking rapids were a breeze. There were even spots to swim or jump off a cliff. Did I mention the free cookies and lemonade halfway through? No I didn't, but it was a plus. At the end, the food was amazing and as a vegetarian, the veggie burgers were awesome. I recently planned a Bachelor Party on the Black River through White Water Challengers, and wanted to let everyone know what a wonderful time we had. Everything from checking in, gearing up, safety instructions, the rafting experience, and photography were top notch. My party was split into two groups. My group with Chris Burnham, and the other with Chris Morelli. Both guides went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect day that we'll never forget. We told Chris we were looking for an exciting day with lots of action on the river. He made sure we took advantage of every rapid on the river, and gave us ample time to play around. He also promised and made sure that everyone of us was tossed overboard on the Cruncher. It was great to see how much their guides enjoyed their work. I also had the privilege of working with Mallory in customer service. One of the guys in my group fractured his ankle 2 days prior to our trip. She has assured us that he will get a voucher for a return trip. I look forward to booking a future trip with White Water Challengers. Next time we may attempt a Spring trip on the Hudson. read more

"On Saturday, August 1st at 1:30 p.m., I and four friends on a "girl's" weekend had the pleasure of rafting Salmon River with Whitewater Challengers. Our guide was Scott. He was the best!! This was my first time rafting. Scott went above and beyond to make our experience an extremely fun one. He told us we were the "sweepers", and I think we did pretty well for "newbies" (we never got stuck and we did not have to "set" once). All the guides that day were extremely friendly. I had a mother/daughter weekend and part of my plan was going on the Black River out of Dexter NY. She knew in advance of the plan and was scared out of her mind. We got there and were greeted as we drove in by Tom. We checked in and then we were put into groups with our guides. Our guide was Kellee. My daughter was a little nervous as she thought it would be a man as she was thinking if she needed to be rescued, what could a girl do. Anyway, we got all geared up and off we went. Kellee was wonderful, very professional and a great gal. I ended up falling off the raft twice, but with Kellee's instruction, it was a piece of cake. I booked a two-day whitewater rafting Excursion with Whitewater Challengers it was loads of fun the water was really high made for an exciting trip we had fun both days I thought it might be boring the second day but jhanvi and Brian change things up and made it very fun and exciting John head a lot of history of the section of river we were running on it was very informative I would definitely recommend Whitewater Challengers to anyone looking for this type of activity John V and Brian took extra time after the raft trip to socialize at the dinner they are both really good guys I booked this trip for myself my son who was home on leave from the Marines and his friend made for a memorable trip home for us ! Our group of 6 went on this adventure yesterday and had so much fun!! We had perfect weather for our trip, sunny and 80 and were all super excited to try this as it was the first time ever white water rafting for 5 of us! Whatever nerves we might have had at first quickly vanished once we met with the instructors/ guides and saw how relaxed, down to earth and FUNNY they all were!! Our guide was Cody and he was amazing! He took charge of our rowdy group with confidence and humor, which made our trip that much more fun! I initially this would be quite the workout (I was picturing 5 hours of non stop paddling, ha) but there were several rest points and a couple of places to jump out and swim, as well as a 2 mile stretch at the end to simply sit and visit or look at the scenery!! Had the most amazing experience today while on the Black River Whitewater Rafting. The overall experience was beyond exceptional. Our guide Cody kept us safe and took great care of us the whole time! He was a funny guy too, there was no shortfall of laughter in our boat! When someone loves their job like he does the experience cannot be anything but awesome! The weather was perfect and the water felt great! We stopped for refreshments and lunch afterwards. The food was very good, no complaints from our group! The life jackets were clean as well as the helmets. The company certainly takes care of their equipment and their guests. We cannot wait to go back next summer! Our group of 16 had an amazing day on the Black River with Whitewater Challengers! The staff was professional from beginning to end, and every member of our diverse group (age, experience, fitness level) was accommodated. Everyone felt comfortable...even the nervous newbies! Of note - our boat guide, Cody, was safety-minded, funny, informative, and found the best shoot through each section of the complex Black River whitewater. Given the wet season thus far, this was no easy task! Cody read the River, the boat, and his crew with an expertise beyond his years. I went here with a group of friends and none of us have ever been white water rafting before and didn't know what to expect. It blew us away being greater than anything we could have imagined. We arrived at 9am and were given a safety briefing and gear then shuttled to the starting point of the expedition. Our group was paired with Noel on the Noel Patrol who was perfect for our sarcastic foolhardy group of misfits affectionately know as "the yeet boys". He gave us great instructions and history about everything around us while making us laugh and feel safe. I would recommend this to anyone as a family activity or group of friends, we will definitely be back to take on the rapids again! read more

I went whitewater rafting for the first time ever a few days ago. We went to the Black River location. I was so nervous about it, but had absolutely no reason to be, thanks to our guide Eric Adsit! He was knowledgeable, engaging, totally competent and fun!! He made sure that we had a ball! Even though all the guides were great, my group (SIXPACK!!) knew we had scored THE BEST guide there and we had a blast! Everything was well orchestrated, the rafting was thrilling and the barbecue after rafting was the perfect way to end the day! Eric kept us safe as well as entertained the whole time! I went with the skydiving group, and we had the best time!! I've been rafting once before, and I'm glad I did, because the bore of that trip, (which was more like a kiddy ride at a bad carnival), made this time that much more fun. Our guide, Cody, was funny and personable, and we all agreed that we lucked out getting him as our guide. Our group of skydivers has been going every year for 25 years. I thought they were crazy and stuck in their ways and couldn't imagine how they weren't already bored of it, but now I understand why they do! I'll definitely be going next year. If you're gullible, just don't believe all of the stories you hear on the river... read more

This was a truly exciting experience. Water levels were abnormally high for this time of year (July 19) which made the ride even more challenging. Our guide, Dylan, was knowledgeable, very personable, and lots of fun. I couldn't imagine how anything else could have been packed into this 4 hour trip. Not only did we raft on great whitewater conditions but we also had the opportunity to get out of the boat to cliff jump. Our family of 8 had a great time rafting with whitewater challengers. The staff was very welcoming, thoughtful and accommodating! We rafted with Ziggy as our guide and he was awesome! He was very knowledgeable about the river and pointed out many historic landmarks. He has a great sense of humor and made sure we all had a good time! Not to mention his St. Bernard, Guinness, was adorable and made our experience that much better by joining us on the ride! The bbq afterwards is nice and the perfect way to end the day. Went whitewater rafting on the Black River for my daughters 18th birthday. Really great time and more than I expected. Rafting, swimming (more like floating down the river), a little bit of cliff jumping (not too high) and of course the rafting which was awesome. Our guide, Cody, was exceptional. He made it a point to make sure we had lots of fun. I would highly recommend Whitewater Challengers. We will definitely be back next year, and will definitely request Cody as our guide if he is still there next summer. So much fun! read more

Had an absolute blast on the river today with ERIC A! He was so fun and made the entire trip enjoyable! I felt safe under his guidance yet also challenged. I would totally recommend this trip! The chicken dinner at the end was a perfect way to wrap up the day. Thanks everyone! I would recommend bringing a towel, spare change of clothes and some other shoes. Highly recommend whitewater challengers! For our first time ever we had a group of 7 we were all together and really enjoyed the experience with Eric W. and Brian as our guides! Went whitewater rafting 5/27/17 on the Black River. What a great time we had. The weather was perfect and the water fast and refreshing. Our guide, Eric, really made the trip fun. Our trip to Black River on June 10th was definitely one to remember! The water was high and the rapids were fantastic. Even though I'd rafted on the river before, Eric/Fat Mac made this the best trip yet. He was the perfect guide, making sure we were making the most of our time.
