My only real complaint was that at 75% sweetness, it was still too sweet for my personal taste. Then again, I usually prefer less sweet desserts, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. I don't know why I've taken over 6 years to write a review here when my Boba birth began here @BL :P This is a Richardson classic, ingrained in the Richardson Chinatown since before my time. It is located on the block where First Chinese BBQ, the haircut place and Happy Foot(?) are. You can ignore all the reviews about Boba Latte being stinky / smelling like sewage because they've since upgraded, moved and renovated to the store over. I like their items because in most of their drinks, real fruits or ingredients are integrated. If you know your boba shops well, you also know that most places use all powder and syrup to make this work for them. My favorite drinks are: 1. Hong Kong Milk tea- The classic here is the HKMT- it's a "nai cha" that is specific to HK and I love it on a Sunday afternoon when I'm going home. 2. Soy red bean smoothie (sometimes with coconut or taro depending on the mood) 3. Soy Jasmine Milk tea with grass jelly- the tea taste is strong in this one :) Boba also has snacks available for purchase. I don't remember if they still have chicken nuggets here, but def call and see what else is on rotation! My favorite aspect about Boba Latte is their customization. I'm a person that happens to have complicated orders everywhere I go, and here I can see the changes to my drinks on the screen while the cashier inputs the information. There are plenty of tables for large groups. I see a lot of college students and families here, but there are also 2 person tables/taller stools with plugs where you can plug in and do your thing. Came here after dinner across the street. Initially when you walk in it's all white and clean looking. However, that is not the case. The counter where they give you your order had liquid from spilled drinks all over it and even though employees saw it, they didn't do anything. The spilling probably occurred because the seal on the drinks were so weak. Every single one of our drinks (3) came apart when he tried to push in the straw. One one of our drinks they had to seal it three times before it finally worked. I ordered the taro milk tea and it barely had any taro in it as you can see from the color of the drink. The menu looks cool and has a lot of drink options and they have a lot of games to just hang around. Over all though it is a mess so I don't see myself coming back here. read more

I wasn't a big fan of boba latte at first, but this place has certainly grown on me as I learned more about the business. First of all, they serve some pretty darn sweet drinks! I learned over the years that I should always opt for 75% sweetness for it to to taste like the "regular" sweetness level. You could even say 50%. I think their price point is pretty fair and affordable compared to other boba places, and they are certainly one of the quickest in making the drinks. I'm not a big fan of their milk teas, as I find them to be a little watery- however I do enjoy their fruit teas and avocado smoothie. Their butterfly limeades are very pretty and tasty as well! The interior is simple, modern, and clean and it's definitely one of the more popular boba place by the locals. They are normally busy and can get pretty loud inside so I'm unsure as so how some others are able to study there, but I've seen many do. Overall I won't be surprised to find people disliking this place upon their first experience- I'm telling you, stick to the 75% sweetness level!! After having dinner at Pappadeaux nearby, my husband and I went here to get our weekend ritual boba drinks. Earlier that week I had Boba Latte for the first time at the Frisco location, and I was a fan. This store is located in a very small strip mall near the 75 freeway. It was pandemic era, so no dine-in was allowed. The space is somewhat small even without dining tables, but it is nice, clean, and bright inside. I ended up getting the same exact drink that I had in Frisco at this location in Richardson, which was the sea salt cream black tea, and my husband got the Love Potion slush which was a concoction of tropical fruits. My drink was very good, but I was impressed with the Love Potion. It was not only fruity, but also refreshing. It is almost like a fruity mojito. I ended up taking a few slurps because I enjoyed it a lot, and I usually don't like smoothies or slushies. I probably would get the Love Potion the next time I visit. Overall, this was a good place to get our boba fix, especially for both types of drinks (tea drinks and slushies). I look forward to trying more drinks. Enjoy! read more

What an improvement the remodel made! It's a stunning euro-style inside with TV screens and digital displays everywhere! There are probably triple the amount of tables and seating as before and there had to be about 5 employees working! My boba tea however was ok...sadly. I ordered a half sweet regular black milk tea with boba ($0.35 cents extra). Not feeling particularly adventurous with my tea selection today, I thought it would be a safe and not disappointing option. Of all the bubble tea spots in Dallas, I'd say Boba Latte is in the top 5 and holds a special place in my heart for being one if the first boba spots to open in Richardson TX. My go-to place for bubble tea! They are cheaper compared to other shops and tastes great too! Their milk teas aren't too creamy and has a strong tea taste - the way I like it. Most bubble tea shops use a powdered creamer (and if you watch how much they use, it's disgusting), but i really appreciate how bobalatte uses milk/half n' half. I usually get their Hong Kong Milk Tea or Jasmine Milk Tea. The HKMT has a strong black tea flavor and tastes like it has a little condensed milk in it.. almost like coffee. The JMT is light and refreshing with a subtle floral green tea flavor. The fruity teas are great as well! The teas tend to be on the sweeter side so remember to ask for less sugar if you want a stronger tea flavor. When I order any fruity teas, I always ask for 50% sugar and it still comes out pretty sweet (coming from a gal that lovess sugar). Overall, love their prices and drinks! The only downside is that the store is small (and loud), so I don't do work/study here. read more

I am torn with this review because I really enjoyed my iced white mocha with boba but the overall cafe experience was lacking. When we walked into the cafe my friend and I were hit with a disgusting smell. Once we got used to it, ew, we ordered and our drinks arrived within five minutes. It's at least $1 lower than any tea bar I've been to, which doesn't seem like a lot but adds up if you get boba as much as I do. Mango Smoothie - 4/5 - I get the mango smoothie (0% sweet) here and it is pretty good. Even at 0% sweet it is still pretty sweet. I'm not sure how the mango smoothie is made (real mango, syrup, powder, puree) and I need to ask - I prefer real foods. Espresso - 1/5 - Before getting any espresso flavored drink I first try a plain shot of espresso. If the shot is good, then we are free to get fancy. Sadly, my search for good espresso in America continues. The espresso here tasted too bitter, almost inedible, so I don't recommend espresso drinks here. Note: I am not factoring this into my overall rating because so far I haven't found good espresso anywhere except Italy and Japan. Service is good. Interior is clean. Parking can be limited. Boba Just saying I think a crystal boba went in my lungs (aspiration). Since it was crystal boba I think it will dissolve without any health issues (aspiration pneumonia). After some Google searching this is apparently fairly common and some governments recommend boba come with a warning label and are not recommended for kids. I'm actually very surprised no one has sued yet. read more

This is where I first fell in love with hokkaido and I don't think any place will match how much I love it at Boba Latte!! At 50% sweet, it is the perfect sweetness, creamy, almost a butterscotch flavor or like those little coffee sucking candies you have when you're a kid, except it's not coffee! Hokkaido has hit the mark. As for their other drinks, I have personally not tried anything else because I'm obsessed with Hokkaido, but my friends have have the jasmine milk tea and it's pretty good, pretty standard to most places. Looking back 15ish years ago, I blame Boba Latte for my current bobaddiction. I remember I would look forward to getting haircuts every 2 months since I was a kid, cause every time I'd get a haircut next door, that would mean BOBA WILL BE SERVED. Their old location was smaller, not as modern, and there were only a total of 6 seats available in the whole place. They've done some nice renovations and I love it! When you walk in, it's kind of like walking into an Apple Store. Everything's shiny, people are on their computers, and the friendly staff is super welcoming! You can't go wrong with the classic milk teas they offer, but I tried their Hong Kong Tea. After tasting it for the first time, this is the only thing I'll get here from now on! The tea is quality and honestly, I'm mostly impressed by how nice it looks! Looks like the perfect place to study or to Boba and Chill. This is the worst Taro smoothie I've ever had. The drink was chalky, white in appearance, and bland, overly compensated with sugar rather than an actual Taro flavor. The boba tapioca itself was tender and not hard, so that was ok. The atmosphere was clean and upbeat. For that reason, I'd consider returning if in the area but definitely Not going out of my way... its pictures of Taro are actually purple and there was quite the crowd. One of the best places to get milk tea! I got the jasmine milk tea with sea salt foam and pudding and it was absolutely delicious! Not overwhelmingly sweet with such floral tea notes. I also got to try the matcha frappe and it tasted like real genuine matcha.
