In the end I couldn't make up my mind so I got 2 drinks (judge me :D ) plus the stuffed chicken wing. Got a mango smoothie w/ boba and an almond milk tea w/ pudding and they were both really good especially after I got over my texture issues with the pudding. The stuffed wing reminded me of one I had tried at the fair that had rice in it but this one was almost as good. Also I do have to note that this place looks super clean. This is my favorite boba so far. Some places the tea base is not very nice, not here. We go here at least once a week because it's truly the best. There are tons of flavors and additions you can add to your drink. It's very clean and everyone is super friendly. It's also right next to a dessert place so you can stop in and get both. This is definitely my go-to boba place anytime I'm in the Richardson area! First of all, make sure you're a part of their rewards program so you can get a free, any-size drink every 10th drink. You can either use a rewards card or just give them your phone number, and sometimes they also send you a 50% off coupon to come by if you haven't checked in for a few weeks. They have a big table with outlets, regular tables for small groups, and bar seating. Their menu holds coffee, tea, milk tea, smoothies, slushies, and special concoctions deemed "Premium Drinks" boasting names such as "Strawberry Cheesecake". They offer skim, almond, and soy milk and you can customize your sweetness. They even offer slices of pie from Emporium Pie! I always get a regular mango fusion green tea, 75% sweet, light ice, and boba. In the years I have been coming year, there have only been a handful of times where they've either messed up or my drink hasn't been up to par. The boba is almost always sweet and the perfect consistency, which is a big reason why I keep coming back. If you're a fan of boba and haven't stopped in at Boba Latte, you should definitely try it! I ordered a strawberry slush with mango jelly as is, and it wasn't overly sweet but I'd probably get it 75% sweetness next time. their coffee drink menu is my motivation to come back and try something new. 12/22/17 worst taro milk tea ever. I don't know if it was because the people working were new, or if it was because they were busy, but if I weren't in a rush I would have gone back inside for a refund/remake of something else. it was gritty, like the artificial taro powder wasn't sifted in or shaken up. and the tea overall had a watery and diluted consistency. I used to come to this spot when it was super small and there was never anywhere to park . This was over 6 years ago though . Well, they have remodeled and it's a ton better . It's much more modern . The decor is fun and inviting with tons of flavors to choose from as far as boba tea and smoothies . They also have slushes and frappes. I came here for boba tea . I remember it being very good then . Now it's ok . Maybe I got the wrong flavor , which was bubble gum . I didn't get the pearls either . So, you will have to make your own call on that. I really enjoy the jellys that they have here, the boba is okay, not the best I've ever had; but satisfactory. I would say that my drink tends to be somewhat powdery and could be overwhelming sometimes when drinkning it for long periods of time. My sister gets the HK milk tea (sometimes its not sweet enough) and I've also tried the Jasmine Milk Tea which is pretty good here. Before you all gasp at my two-star rating of Boba Latte, I want to remind you of the official Yelp description of a two-star rating: "Meh. I've experienced better." That's not to say that Boba Latte was terrible. If this is the best boba I can get in Dallas, I'll make do. However, compared to my beloved boba place in the Bay Area (where they import all their ingredients from Taiwan and know special tricks to make each cup PERFECT), I have to say that you Boba Latte fans just don't know what you're missing. Compared to Fat Straws, Boba Latte is miles better. For starters, Boba Latte has tons more flavors. I scanned the menu and was pleased to see many authentic flavors such as taro and lychee. Then, as we were ordering, I suddenly became aware of an absolutely putrid smell. It literally smelled like sewage. Then I realized that durian was on the menu as one of the flavors. That was shocking enough in itself; I nearly died when I realized that the guy two people in front of me had actually ORDERED it. Ewwww!! haha...sorry to all you durian fans out there. Yes, all three of you. Anyway, relieved that the store was perfectly hygenic and not actually sitting on a leaking sewage system, I placed my order and then stood by the counter watching with eagle eyes to see how they made their drinks. There were a ton of syrup bottles behind the counter, but I was pleased to see that two avocado smoothies were being made with real avocado. In my fascination with watching that, I missed seeing whether my taro milk tea was made with powder or syrup or what, but it tasted like powder (not in a bad way, but there weren't any bits of taro floating around, which is usually what you find when they actually make it with real taro). Sooo that brings me to my complaints with Boba Latte. I watched the girl behind the counter pour my drink into the cup. It filled -- I kid you not -- less than half the cup. Then she dumped some pearls in (a skimpy portion, especially considering that the pearls were strangely small compared to the boba I've had everywhere else). Of course, this was still not enough to fill the cup, so she then loaded in about half a cup of ice. Great. This meant that, even despite the skimpy spoonful of pearls at the bottom of my cup, I ran out of tea before I ran out of pearls. There's NO excuse for a boba shop to not know how to make enough liquid for a single cup. That's just taking advantage of your customers. The flavor itself? WAY too sweet. I guess I should have been scared when I saw a girl making someone else's drink by opening about ten Splenda packets and dumping them in. Um, what?!??! My drink was supposed to be "normal" sweetness, but it was so sickeningly sweet that I literally felt ill after drinking about half of it. That's NOT what boba should be. The pearls? They had probably been cooked that morning and left to sit all day. I've made countless batches of pearls myself, so I know how they change over the course of a few hours. The ones at Boba Latte were fine with the first few sips, but after a few minutes in the drink, they started getting hard in the middle. That's what happens with pearls that are too old. Pearls should be cooked every few hours at LEAST, and the old ones should be thrown out even if they still look and feel okay. Due to the ridiculous sweetness of the drink itself, I couldn't even tell how well the pearls were soaked (in honey). I'm hoping that the liquid I saw them soaking in was honey and not just water, but it was really impossible to tell by taste alone. My friend got a regular milk tea, and his was also WAY too sweet. He also had the same problem with too little liquid, excessive amounts of ice, and pearls that got hard fast. {sigh} Next stop: Tapioca House. You're my only hope! read more

A passion fruit green tea is pretty awesome too. Basically anything I had was pretty good. I can't remember if I liked the taro here though. My friend bought me a Julie Special. It was delicious, a very pretty drink too(: I tried a green tea with aloe vera yesterday! I think this is my new drink. Healthy, light and it's good for you. Very cute and swanky lil tea place with tons of chairs and tables to chill on a cute date, talk biz, or have a lil time alone. It was a bit cold inside and was therefore a little uncomfortable for me but thats me! The menu was extensive but had really unique options. Im plain jan and don't like too much extras and sugar so i got a jasmine classic tea with boba with honey. Still pretty sweet. My friend ordered the chai late boba with almond milk and tasted sooooo good- again super sweet. They had a few food items on the menu and we tried the chicken Karage which are like chicken chunks fried, and these little pancake balls with octopus in it. Milk (black) tea with boba. This is normally the only drink I get here. I used to ask for strawberry milk tea but it was always a weird consistency. They used a powder and it never dissolved fully. 2.70 for a regular size which I don't think is a horrible price. The boba was freshly made (b/c I had to wait longer this time) but it was still a bit harder than I feel it should be. I like the boba consistency from fat straws. Also, a bit of a surprise was when I got my drink, the boba was also green and red! Looked a little freaky deaky in my cup, but it still tasted the same. Holiday season deal I guess. I know a lot of reviews say the drinks are overly sweet, but my milk tea never is. There is a sign near the door that you can refer to if you would like it less sweet, just tell the employee the way you want it. I recommend staying away from milk (green) tea. Walking into Boba Latte, I thought it was really cute and modern. It's kind of hard to find, as it's located in a small shopping center behind a larger one, but once we found it, I was pretty happy. I love that they give you a choice of how sweet you want your tea. Most places just add way too much sugar by default. I ordered mine unsweetened and added the sugar myself. It would be nice if they made each tea to order, but they have pitchers of pre-made tea. Also, they just use regular fast food drink cups instead of boba cups. I know that machine that seals plastic onto a cup shouldn't be so important to me, but I consider it part of the experience, and everyone loves breaking the film with the fat straw. On the plus side, the orders came out really fast, since they didn't have to actually make the tea or seal the cup. I really liked the consistency of the boba. It was chewy, but firm, and not too gummy. I would go back if I'm in the area again, but I don't think I'd go out of my way for it. read more

I always get their hong kong milk tea and is always just right to my liking. They expanded and remodeled so it's a different feel than the older store used to be. It's so spacious and white now! Get the Hong Kong Milk Tea, half sweet. Just do it. You'll realize how tea-ey and complex milk tea can actually be, because Hong Kong style means its brewed stronger and more flavorful. With a slight tinge of the bitterness and myriad flavorings of actual tea, and silky slight sweetness, just get it next time you come in to Boba Latte. It's so good! You can see them make the legit tea in a huge steaming pot in the back and they actually prepare the tea the legit way, straining and pulling it several times like tradition demands. The boba here are also of good texture, not too mushy like lots of other places make it. I used to like Tapioca House but have recently changed my preference to Boba Latte after Tap House got the case of the mushy bubbles. Make sure you get and use the FiveStars reward card, you get a free drink after 10 drinks here! The only reasons why they don't get 5 stars is because the place smells really oddly of papaya/garbage/some funky air freshener they should change out. Also, depending on who's working in the back that day, the drinks can be inconsistent in terms of sweetness, I've had a "half sweet" drink come out super syrupy before. read more
