Walked in on a Friday laaaate afternoon and needed a piece of glass cut asap for a move out accidental break, would have cost me $150 to have it replaced by another place so I wanted to fix it myself. They were already closed up in the shop and instead of turning me away, the gentleman from the office went in the back and cut it for me within 5 minutes and charged me $5 bucks for the glass. $145 saved and it took me all of 20 minutes to do the repair. Figured I'd give thanks for the solid done for me and give Bobbitt glass a high five. read more

We called and preferred glass for a pair of doors for a client of ours. Bobbitt glass read back my order to me totaling 4 pieces of glass. Our customer drove 52 min to pick up glass even though we offered to pick up and deliver the glass to their home. We do not ship doors with glass due to breakage, no matter how well you package them. Customer arrived at Bobbitt glass only to discover they ordered glass for only 1 door instead of two. We paid for two doors worth of glass as well. We called Bobbitt glass spoke to a lady and said they would call us back. Never did! Apologized the error was on their end. They had told our customer it was our error when clearly we have the receipt to prove it was NOT! Our receipt reflects 4 pieces of glade purchased. We received a bad review due to these cowards not willing to own up to their mistake. Along with verbal harassment from our client whom we sold the doors to. Perhaps Bobbitt has new owners. Beware. Do not do business with this business. About 6 years ago I did business with this company and had good service. This time for simple bar glass it took approximately 3 visits to get a small area sized correctly. Prior to installation Someone came out to measure. Apparently he did not measure correctly. I ordered the glass, they did not record the color of glass nor inform me when it was ready. It took over 7 weeks for a shelf and 2 approximately 16x17 glass areas to be installed. Both Nicole and Carol were rude, gave my GC Deeply Rooted(excellent GC), the run around and lacked customer service. Actually basic politeness. I almost never write a review, but when they damaged the walls at my sister house based on my recommendation. I had to alert others. Yes, the nails went through the wall extending out through the adjoining room. Yes, I took my time paying the balance because of the horrible service, money owed to my sister to reimburse her for the damages and the long delay to receive my glass. I received emails and calls daily for 7 days. I should have made them wait 7 weeks. read more

I love Bobbitt Glass so much. They have proven to be so competent and amazing on three separate occasions. I am renovating an old house and first got involved with them a few months ago, when they replaced the glass fronts in some of my kitchen cabinets. Then they put in a new mirror in my bathroom in MINUTES and cleaned it to perfection and called me later to make sure I was happy with it. I didn't even have to go in that time! Most recently they cut glass to size for these prints I framelessly framed as a house project and they came out beautifully. Carol is so great (she remembers my NAME in between the months I see them- that is customer service!) and she is always just as gracious whether it's a big job or $18 worth of cut glass. These guys are beyond great! I wish I could give them 8 or 10 stars. I contacted several glass companies to do the work I needed. I started with a different glass company, who will remain nameless, that badly screwed things up. Bobbitt had a difficult job to do because of that other glass company's screw up, but Bobbitt went well beyond the "call of duty" for me. This is the very first Yelp review I have ever written and it is because of Carol and the two guys she sent to do the work ( I am so sorry I don't have their names but Carol knows who they are) - awesome guys! They treat you like family and really care about pleasing you. I can't say enough about Bobbitt Glass....and very well priced! I live about twenty minutes away from the Montrose area (lived there for twenty years) and I still drive in every time I need glass or mirror work, passing up many other companies. They're prices are always very reasonable, if not too cheap sometimes, and from my experiences, they are always very helpful and friendly. They know me by name and always treat me like an old friend. I believe Nicole is running the business now. Ask for her as she is a very sweet lady and always cuts me a deal. read more

Dishonest bait and switch pricing. I contacted Bobbitt Glass to find out what it would cost to replace some 14"x19" single layer panes in a historical building. Three had to be replaced as there were holes in them. Others were just cracked. I asked what it would cost per pane to decide if I should use them and how many to replace. I was told that it would be "fourteen each for materials and thirteen sixty five for labor." I had 14 panes replaced thinking this was a reasonable per pane price. When I received the paid invoice it was for $1,669.78 Their explanation is that by $13.65 they meant $1,365. When you ask for a price per pane and the prices are presented as they were, anyone would assume the price was $13.65. I asked them if they would inform customers in the future of the total out the door price and was told that they would not. When I asked for a good faith discount they refused. This is simple glass installed with glazing caulk. They claim they charge $125 per pane, though this number was never discussed with me. And at any rate, I would never have paid this. It takes only a few minutes to chisel out the old glazing and install new. I could easily have gotten glass and installed it myself. At first I thought this was a comedy of errors but given their aggressive response in my communications with them and the negative reviews by other customers, I now suspect I was intentionally misled. Be sure to read the negative reviews below in addition to this one. I wish I had. read more

While in Houston I stopped by your store and explained my situation, called back later to set up an appointment. You all had come out the following Monday and fixed the window. I took a small candle holder in that had a mirror that was about 5 inches in diameter that needed to be replaced. I called before i went and the receptionist informed me they were working a half a day today 12/31/10 and closed at 12 but could cut the small mirror while i waited. I got there at 8:45...so after measuring the size of mirror to be cut she goes back to the glass cutter...and i overhear them arguing him telling her were not doing anything same day today....im sure the mirror i needed cut couldnt have taken more than 15 minutes...really...it was literally the size of a saucer. 5 freaking inches in diameter.....so needless to say they wont be getting my business ever. read more

Positive: Carol is a sweetheart - she knows how to communicate with customers. They definitely need her. Negative: The owner/manager - older lady w/short hair was not so nice & I got the vibe she wasn't willing to go above & beyond to help out. So it turns out the store was unable to accomplish what I needed done with my glass table top w/in my timeframe so I went back after a few hours to pick it up, say around 4pm on Friday. The owner/manager checked in the back and discovered it was behind another sheet of glass -- all but 1 guy was left in the store & at least 2 guys would be needed to dump it in the trunk of my SUV. Because she only had 1 guy available she asked if I could come back on Monday when she had enough people. Of course I wasn't going to do this so I offered to be the 2nd hand. She then asked me to take a seat because the guy was busy on the PC but thank goodness the guy decided to get up and help me right-away, specifically letting her know he can finish with his PC stuff later. In my head I was like, lady, are you seriously going to make me wait especially when you are not able to provide the service I need? All I needed was to get the glass back in my car so I could be on my way -- I left work early to make this happen for crying out loud! Funny enough she ended up helping the guy put it in my SUV -- so what was all the fuss about then? For some reason, I took this a lil personal esp since I simply go by the principle, 'treat others how you would want to be treated' If she has issues helping potential customers then maybe start charging for loading/unloading -- I would have gladly paid. I can't say I'm a fan because of the negative vibe I got from the lady owner/manager but all the same thank you and no thanks. I got my glass table top to a different store and got the job well done by 5:20pm same Friday! ;-) read more

Difficult and expensive experience. The process started when a glass shattered at our home. I went in and talked to someone and asked if they could handle the job. I told them the glass had a glaze on it. They could and would send someone out. A man came out to measure. We had a bid which was delayed when glass was not available. Another bid was made and it was almost $500. After quite sometime, the man came back (3rd time) & replaced the glass. There was no glaze and we were told they didn't gaze-after the install! It was on the workers first measurement that the glass was glazed; I had talked to them about it, but they hire out glazing. Bobbitt refused to pay and we will be out more than $100 now for the service. Unacceptable and sloppy way to do business. The final price for 1 glass replaced? It will be a staggering $600! I worked with Bobbitt for my frameless shower installation. From the measuring to the install they were very pleasant and professional. I also had a shelf and small shaving mirror put in the shower. I am a big supporter of using the smaller "Mom & Pop" shops when I need to outsource product for my business. I have used Bobbitt Glass numerous times over the last 25 years and it has become less and less due to mistakes, the last few years I have been taking my larger orders to a different company. The final straw was last week when I ordered a mirror to fit a frame for a gift over the weekend and what I got was clear glass. My bad for not checking the order before I left but I guess I ask to much for people to do their job correctly. They have consistently gotten my orders wrong and for some reason I keep giving them another chance but as of today I will take that business elsewhere. read more

I was forced to remodel my home due to Harvey flooding my home. I live outside of the Houston area and I needed several walls of mirrors removed as well as a frameless shower door. I called several glass companies that turned me down until I finally called Bobbitt Glass Company. I am so glad they all turned me down. Bobbitt Glass was very sympathetic to our situation and offered a flood discount and came out within two days. They worked safe and fast which saved me even more money since it was an hourly rate. After we had the repairs completed we called upon Bobbitt again to install new mirrors and showers as well as a Monteray door system they designed (five bifolding glass panel doors making a large opening when opened) WOW it turned out AMAZING. But even better, they offered the flood discount again. That is good business from good people. Hard to find honest decent businesses nowadays. I have used Bobbitt in years past, so I consider myself to be an established customer. I recently broke a tabletop piece of tempered glass. I left the table, along with explicit instructions of how the glass was to fit the table. It took a solid month to get the first piece. No big deal. But it was cut to the wrong size. So back I went to Bobbitt, telling them, again, how the glass needed to fit the table. Almost 3 weeks later it was ready, instead of having been placed in "rush" status. Again, it was too big and did not fit the tabletop. Yesterday, I returned the glass, and the table, showing the woman at the front, that they needed to re-do the glass. She informed me that they could do it, but I would have to pay for a new piece of glass. The glass was expensive the first time I paid for it. I told her, "No, that will not be necessary, thank you. And I will never come back here again, because not only are you incompetent, you do not stand behind your work." Having sent many customers to Bobbitt over the years, I will now warn anyone who will listen to avoid Bobbitt glass like the plague. I always stand behind my products and give great customer service. Apparently, Bobbitt Glass does not, and this is inexcusable. read more

I needed two patio door glass inserts replaced due to fogging, and two kitchen windows that had small cracks replaced. I contacted Bobbitt as they are in the neighborhood and wanted to shop local. The quote process went great, it took over a month for the doors windows to come in but finally the installation was scheduled. The guys that came did a good job, a little messy on clean up but I can live with that, they told me they were given the wrong glass for the kitchen and would have to reschedule. Carol emailed me later that she would send someone out for a solex quote, which I never wanted, so after a few emails and a phone call that got straight. She scheduled the kitchen windows for installation two weeks ago. The guy showed up 3 hours late, and apparently had a very bad day. He took his frustration out on the windows, they were shattered outside on my driveway, and he was cursing up a storm about something. Very embarrassing for me, my neighbors have small children and they called me to find out what was going on. In about an hour he had the windows in, complained that he was supposed to be off early and no one even ordered the windows for my job until this afternoon. He was having a very bad day, but that isn't my fault. When he took off I cleaned up the shards of glass from my driveway, then noticed the trim on the windows was broken. I came in to clean the new windows, he did not, and found that both of the windows wer loose enough that it moved when i wiped it with a paper towel. I sent pictures, talked to Bobbitt, they sent Robert out to look and we discovered one frame was also bent. They sent Alfredo out, he fixed the trim and loose windows, but he didn't know about the frame, so one more trip was needed. Alfredo was very professional, cleaned everything up. He was great. Bottom line, it may take several attempts, and everything balances on the person they send to your home but I think Bobbitt tries. The owner never communicated with me although i was told she'd call. From what I've read, that was probably a blessing. Not sure I'd recommend them, it's been quite an experience and I'm sure you can find a better option on Angie's List. read more
