I thought we'd try out the Bobcat Den for the first time for breakfast on my wife's birthday. My wife loves biscuits and gravy. But the Bobcat Den's gravy has sausage in it. That doesn't work for my wife. She tried it anyway picking out the sausage. But, to no avail, the cook used way too much flour to make the gravy with. It really tasted horrible. We asked for crispy hash browns, we got soggy over buttered hash browns. I had a 3 egg omelette with bacon, sausage, onions and tomato. The egg was not fluffy at all. The eggs had no life in them, it was as flat as a pancake. The hot chocolate is from a bag, they serve powered hot chocolate. Terrible choice for any restaurant. I will say, the other reviewers are spot on here on Yelp. This place misses the mark in too many places. Service was very underwhelming also. No personality whatsoever. A 15% tip was it. Been there for breakfast many times and an occasional lunch. Prices are fair and we have found the food to be very good. Will go back again!

Busy place. Very nice staff. We ate lunch there once and supper once. My wife had a BLT and fries and took half home. Crisp bacon and cold tomato and lettuce. It crunches when you eat, and that indicates the freshness. The chicken fingers are great and plentiful. Tender yet crunchy. Now, the salad bar. 5.99 one trip. 9.99 for all-you-can eat. I am a big guy. The plates are large and square. One trip filled me up. Make sure you get some of the chicken salad off of the bar and captains crakers. It is fresh and filling. The location is right on highway 111. The food is made fresh. Plan on about 45 minutes to order and eat unless you are just eating salad. If you are driving through and hungry, it is worth the wait. I ordered the today's special, which was turkey & dressing, mashed potatoes & gravy and green beans. The green beans had a really good flavor to them and they was not overcooked a lot like other places. The mashed potatoes was really good along with the gravy that was on top. The dressing was awesome and so was the gravy on the dressing. The turkey was a little dry like most turkeys are, could have used a little more gravy with the turkey. The sweet tea was really good and it was true Southern sweet tea . I may need to go get checked for diabetes after two glasses of that . The pecan pie was a little bit different than what I was used to but it was really good. Overall I would say it was a really good meal and it was only $10. I could not ask for better service. We decided to eat dinner here after being on Dale Hollow reservoir all day. I saw on the menu that they had grilled tenderloin and when I ordered it they told me they were out of it. I ordered breaded mushrooms, onion rings, and a bacon cheeseburger.The hubby ordered the brisket meal it came with a side and a trip to the salad bar **Tip: the ranch dressing is not on the bar with the rest of the dressings. It is in a cooler next to the bar. The salad bar was fine, the service was fine. We ate the food and we will not return here. The food was edible but not really good. My friend and I would come here to relax, talk and eat lunch. Christy is my favorite server there and we would go sometimes, just because she was working that day. Until, that is, until the day my friend and I were kicked out because I made a comment. So, we went to have lunch and Christy wasn't there. I didn't get her name but another server, she has black hair, kind of a Bob cut (haha no pun intended!), and she can be grumpy. I digress. We sat down and were trying to decide what to eat when I heard a child scream. The kind that makes you cringe all the way to your toes. I simply asked the grump if she knew if those customers had just gotten there (there's a wall up the middle of the restaurant and you can't see over it). She gave me the dirtiest look then said something about having 2 grandchildren herself. She walked away and next thing you know, the owner of the restaurant was at our table-side. I didn't know the scream came from his granddaughter. However, none of that mattered because he felt that my question was rude and said that we should just go. In the few years that I have gone to this restaurant, I have never seen this guy before so, as long as grumpy isn't there, I'm sure I could still go. But I won't. Never again. read more

Staff was super friendly. We both had the pork chops. They were really good, I enjoyed the mashed potatoes as well. My husband got his with green beans but didn't care for the beans. Salad bar was decent. First time I have been anywhere and they serve ranch dressing out of a 5 gallon water jug. read more

On my latest trip to TN, my son wife and I stopped at the Bobcat Den for dinner, and I have to say it was probably the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The young waitress who waited on us was nothing but downright rude from the moment we sat down. She was throwing our food on the table, making us all jump, shaking her head at us and rolling her eyes. Once we complained about the poor service, the owner of the restaurant came over. The owner started in on us with a terrible attitude from the beginning of the conversation as well. They wanted to charge us for EXTRA sides because they were out of the sides we had ordered. Instead of swapping one item for another, they said we would have to pay for the full meal + another side. They advertise lowered prices because apparently so many had complained it was expensive but what they don't tell you until you get your bill is that you're also charged a SERVICE fee on top of everything else. After we complained about the experience we were told by the teenage waitress as well as the owner to never come back. All we did was complain about not receiving our food and the attitude of the waitress. The service was downright abysmal. Everyone who lives in the area has sworn off eating at the Bobcat Den. Save yourself the trouble and keep driving. read more

Poor customer service, food prices are higher than gas prices. Save yourself , eat somewhere else. Staff are rude to customers they do not accommodate customers. Staff would rather see you leave than serve you. Byrdstown has many other customer friendly restaurants. read more

I'm a 70 year old army veteran with a service connected disability. I've eaten here several times, no problem with bringing my registered service dog with me that I need for a specific reason that I will not go into here. Two nights ago I bring a couple of older friends with me and my service dog. It's like all hell broke loose. Suddenly the owner comes rushing over telling me I have to keep my dog under the table. I'm told he can't have any bites of my food. Was told In not so nice of a tone if I return with him again to bring paper work to prove he is a registered service dog. He is registered and I do have government issued paper work on his training but I won't need it since I will no longer patronize this restaurant. read more

We spent a few days at Sunset Marina fishing. The first day we tried 2 different restaurants and both were horrible. We found this place on our second day heading back to our motel. My hopes were not high considering the other places in the area. However this place was a home run! They have a salad bar with everything imaginable and all of it was fresh! They even make their own Ranch dressing! My husband ordered the hamburger steak with fries and a one trip salad. I ordered the salad bar and an order of cheese sticks. He said his hamburger steak was the best he ever had and my $6 cheese sticks were a 12 inch cheese pizza cut into strips. So delicious. We even went back the next morning for breakfast! Our breakfast was just as amazing and I highly recommend the biscuits and gravy and the French toast! This place is a must for breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
