I rarely leave negative reviews, but I hope this helps others who are deciding where to rent a vehicle for an insurance claim. I have President's Circle status with Hertz and arrived for an insurance replacement rental after calling the location about a week and a half in advance. During that call, I explained that I drive a Mercedes S-Class, am 6'4", and was hoping for a comfortable vehicle. I understood my preferred Luxury/Prestige option likely wouldn't be available, so I told them I was completely open to any mid-size or large SUV or a larger sedan. I was told they would make a note and do their best. When I arrived, I was asked for my driver's license and credit card. Without mentioning it, the agent updated the address on my Hertz profile to match my driver's license, which still had my previous address. I only discovered this after receiving the confirmation email and now have to correct my account. After swiping my card, I was told there were no notes regarding my earlier call and that the best available vehicle was a minivan. I declined because it wasn't a good fit for my needs. When I asked whether another vehicle might become available if I waited, I was met with a shrug and no real guidance or effort to help find an alternative. The most disappointing part wasn't the lack of vehicle availability--I understand inventory changes. It was the overall customer service. My President's Circle status wasn't acknowledged, the advance call appeared to have accomplished nothing, and I left feeling like no one was interested in helping find a solution. I ultimately walked out, called my insurance company, and transferred my reservation to Enterprise one block away. The difference was remarkable. They had multiple vehicle options, were friendly, understood the insurance rental process, and had me in a vehicle in under 20 minutes. If you're using an insurance replacement rental, I would strongly recommend checking Enterprise before choosing this Hertz location. Based on my experience, it was a night-and-day difference in both service and professionalism. Hertz has a recognizable brand, but this location fell well short of the experience I'd expect. I hope corporate takes a closer look at how this branch handles customer service, communication, and insurance rentals.
