Bob is "old school" auto craftsman. And I do mean craftsman. The 1968 dune buggy posed a major challenge, as these are kit cars, nothing standard. Bob was patient, methodical, and the workmanship beyond what I had even hoped for. Workmanship of this caliber is rare these days. Allow the man TIME, and the results will be well worth it. Bob is truly a professional. I was getting my 24 year old classic convertible ready for auction, and it had to be absolutely perfect. He ordered the rear window for the the top for me from the manufacturer. Got a good price for me too. He called me as soon as it arrived, and we scheduled an early next morning appointment . Bob has, for years, custom-crafted dog lounge beds, SUV storage area liners, and done minor upholstery repairs on several of my vehicles. Each were expertly and tastefully done, always matching the interior of my (usually brand new) vehicles perfectly. LOVE his work and so do my dogs--last job involved creating a "dog lounge on wheels" in my Chevy Tahoe, complete with custom memory foam mattress. My Hounds are the envy of all other dogs as they ride around in supreme comfort; I am happy because everything is both water-resistant and washable for those frequent occurrences of muddy paws. Bob has also kindly performed additions and minor repairs on several of my horse's items (such as shipping boots). Not the fastest turnaround time and his schedule is a bit erratic, but the quality of the workmanship is well worth it. Always fairly priced. read more

I have taken my BMW to Bob's twice for leather seat restitching .On first meeting, he is a likeable guy and his work is decent. However, BOTH TIMES , he has not reinstalled my seat with it's electronic seat adjustment and airbag correctly. He incorrectly wired the seat and it cost me $200.00 the first time to fix, and close to $300.00 the second time as the seat wouldn't adjust and my husband's knees were in his chest and he was unable to drive the car. I had taken the car back to Bob before I finally had to pay and fix it elsewhere. Each time he looked and said" he had no clue" , then appeared irritated and left me on my own to correct it. I called his shop and left a message re: the amount I had to pay for repairs and invited him to have a conversation with me about this and left my number. I did not ask for payment, simply requested a conversation. He was not interested in having a conversation and I will not be going back. .Too bad. He seemed like a more concerned business owner. read more

Went by Bob's shop to see about getting the front seats in my Volvo S80 reupholstered. Bob took out some leather cleaner called Lexol and showed me that my seats were actually in pretty good condition and if I spent some time working on them with Lexol they would look a lot better. Didn't charge me a dime or try and sell me anything. Instead he suggested I try the Lexol route and if I wasn't happy with the results to come back and we could talk about spending a bunch of money to reupholster the seats. He is a straight up cat and I dig his style. Thanks Bob! I'll be back when I have something that needs reupholstering. read more

I took my 1994 Miata to Prestigious Auto Body for repair (great job) and they had to send it to Bobs to remove the convertible top before they could proceed with the work. I had been wanting to have the convertible top replaced and seats recovered but had not had the time to pursue. I took a chance and discussed with Bob over the phone the price to do both and authorized him to do the work. The results were fantastic. The top looks the same as when I first purchased the car in 1994 and the leather seat covers look better than the original. He was fast and professional. I am now spending my weekend replacing the electronic seat control button BOB broke off my Landcruiser seat. I saw him throwing my seats around like they were made of wood but figured he was a pro so I didn't say anything. He told me it would be $360 to INSTALL my SEAT COVERS and after it was done he said it was $360 per seat so $720 total. This is just for taking off old leather and putting on covers I had already had custom made. He did not mention it was $360 PER SEAT when I got the estimate but I paid him because thats just the kind of person I am even tho this is a very high price for a two-three hour job at the most. When I noticed that he had broken the button i mentioned it to him and he said "it was that way when I got it". I suggested that maybe he could do my arm rests for free or put in the new button and he didn't seem to enthusiastic about it so now I am doing it myself and writing a yelp review about it. I run my own business and I make it right when I mess up so I don't get bad reviews like this one. Did he do a descent job on my upholstry?...yes Did he do damage in the process that I am somehow responsible to take care of now? yes.
