    The only reason I used this company was a friend of mine had his whole house done with new flooring…read moreand the guys did a great job. I had stopped by quite a few times to watch the process. My experience was completely different. I wanted new flooring in my master bedroom with new baseboards and asked for new baseboards only in the bathroom to freshen it up. Well the day of the install the guys didn't arrive till 11am about two hours late. I felt like he was rushing the entire time. At 6pm when he was done I went in to check and the flooring looked great but the baseboards were all 5 inches, did not ask for that and that is not what I have in my home. I can overlook that but the baseboards were dull, scuffed and black fingerprints on them. I asked the guy are you going to clean them and why are they not white. He looked at me and said "You have to paint them." Why would I pay thousands of dollars to get on my hands and knees to paint baseboards. I sent Mike the salesperson and email with 10 pictures and the next day he calls and says I'm sorry I didn't tell you that our customers paint their own baseboards. That is not true because at my friends house I observed a young guy painting the baseboards. Mike said he would talk to the owner. Two weeks later he calls and says we can come out and paint the nail holes. I told him no thanks, it should have been done right the first time. I also questioned why no product was left behind, not even one plank of flooring. He claimed it was damaged and they would order me two more boxes and hand deliver it. No surprise, its a month and a half later, he never called and no product. I would say shop around and ask the right questions, otherwise you get crappy work and you spend money to only have to complete the project on your own. I should have went somewhere else.

    When we discovered Accent Flooring in Brooksville, FL. it appeared that we had found the perfect…read moreflooring company. Their selection and quality of flooring was better that most others. They worked with us as we struggled through the task of picking the flooring for our great room, dining room and bedroom. They told us that as long as they did the measuring and installation that any mistakes made were on them and not us. Obviously, we had them measure, order and install the required amount of flooring. As with any project where you purchase product by cartons and not individual pieces, we were aware that there would be a few pieces left over; which we wanted just in case in the future we needed to repair an area. The next step was to set up a time for the installation. We set up three days which were completely clear on their calendar assuring that once the job was started, and nothing unexpected happened, the job would be completed on time. We then made arrangements to leave so they had the house to themselves and we were out of the mess. That was a mistake. Before I continue, I want to say that the installers did a great job. The installation was to start on a Tuesday at 9am, ending around noon on Thursday. Accent was terrible at project management. We had our neighbor watch when the installers arrived and left. The first day they were two hours late, the second day they were five and half hours late and the last day two and a half hours late. That is a total of 10 hours that Accent sent the installers to other job sites, not ours. On Thursday we arrived home about 10:30am expecting the job to be close to completion. To our amazement the job was not even close to being finished. When I inquired as to what happened the installers said since we were not home Accent had a couple other projects that needed completion and they were sent to those and told to ignore our timeframe. When Accent was questioned their answer was it was not their fault and the job would be completed by Thursday sometime. Yes, it was, 8:30 in the evening. Accent thought we were over reacting to their inability to complete the project in the agreed upon time. They refused to take ownership of their screwups. Completely unacceptable. When the project was finally completed there were two cartons of flooring remaining. As said before, we wanted some left over so we kept one carton and the other we took back to Accent. Accent was surprised that we brought back a carton. They asked what they were to do with it and we said send it back; you ordered too much. They put up a small argument saying they do not send flooring back but finally did take it. After all, they ordered too much and we were not about to pay for something they ordered and we could not use. Even though Accent has a great selection of quality flooring we advise to steer clear. But if you do use them, we advise you get in writing exactly when the job will begin and end including the hours each day, they will be on-site. Insist the installers arrive on time and that they do not leave during the day except for lunch. Make sure you have in writing that unopened excess materials they order can be returned with no question. It is doubtful we will ever use Accent again.
