Inside was a beautiful chaos: truckers comparing boots, kids losing their minds over slushies the size of small buckets, and a guy at the counter trying to buy a single banana and a windshield wiper. I headed for the restroom, and let me tell you, it was clean enough that I almost considered living there. Almost. The snack aisle was a spiritual experience--wall-to-wall trail mix, Hot Cheetos, and mystery meat sticks. I grabbed a soda, a slice of gas station pizza and got back on the road feeling satisfied. Love's isn't just a gas station. It's a strange, wonderful rest stop between "Where are we?" and "Are we there yet?" And in New Mexico, that's pretty much magic.

It turned out that the between the concrete apron and where the asphalt pavement should start there's basically a deep trench that's almost impossible to evaluate for how bad it is especially as the apron slopes down and the attention here must be mostly on the mirrors as turning something this big into this driveway must be done with a lot of care toward the rear of the rig. I stopped briefly after the shocking drop to make sure I could understand what caused this violent shaking, and to see if there was any obvious damage to my truck. When I went inside to use their bathroom facilities, I found the entire area from the doors into the male bathroom was grossly dirty, like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks if not months. As a trucker I use TA facilities a lot, so I plan on reporting the horrible conditions at this facility, to their corporate headquarters as well.

Even though they didn't have my specific tire size in stock, they immediately ordered it and managed to get it to their shop in less than 12 hours! Being stuck in a small town unexpectedly is never fun, but they were so understanding of my situation. They truly made me a priority to ensure I could get back on the road as quickly as possible. To make a stressful situation so much better, they gave me excellent local recommendations for places to stay, eat, and keep entertained while I waited. On top of that, because the blowout had shaken me up, I thought I was hearing a new noise from the car. When I mentioned it to them, they didn't hesitate to do a thorough look-over of the vehicle just to give me peace of mind and ensure I was completely safe to continue my travels. Getting a blowout sucks no matter how you look at it, but this shop was absolutely amazing. I could not be happier with their incredible service, kindness, and professionalism.
