I had heard about Bob's a couple of years ago but hadn't been able to get there until recently. It did not disappoint and I'm so glad I finally made it there! There's nothing I didn't enjoy, the service was spot on, old time soda flavors, the old school diner interior, and last but not least the food. I live an hour away but I'm sure I'll return for another visit.

Hit up this spot for a little roadside (i.e., outside) dining at this old-school diner style burger stand. Staff was super-friendly...went inside to place my order and they served me out at the picnic tables by the street. I ordered a signature burger, fries and a vanilla milkshake. Service took a bit of time, but I know it was because they were making my food fresh, so all good! Their burgers are served smashburger style off a flattop grill, so they come out all charred and juicy. The Bonanza burger was quite good with a mix of mayo and BBQ sauces on top along with crispy bacon and shredded lettuce. Their fries are shoestring style and (surprisingly) held their heat and were well seasoned. The vanilla milkshake was kind of thin and on the small side, but had a traditional soda fountain type flavor to it...seemed like ice cream and milk blended together. A bit on the pricey side for what you get, but a great bit of nostalgia and a solid burger and fries. Would definitely return.

OMFG...Bob! BOB...AMAZING! I have started a 1 week quest to find the best hamburger in Akron, Ohio. I'm a newbie to Bob's Hamburg so I went with a mushroom Swiss, fries, and a chocolate shake. Dang, you set the bar high...this is going to be a tough competition. You are being graded on overall taste, juiciness of meat, flavor of the burger, the bun, fries, and overall appearance. The only thing I would change is that I wish I could time travel and know about this place years ago when I came to Akron. Well done good guys, I will be a returning customer!

This is my second time coming to Bob's Hamburg AKA Bob's Burgers. This little beauty is tucked in Akron and if you're in the area please stop by (hours 7-4) Fresh burgers, I'm talking about balled up ground beef that they Smash and cooked right there in front of you. No Frozen patties just fresh goodness burgers. I drove a half hour from Medina just to come here again. And I'll probably visit every 3 weeks or so. The big fast food chains have nothing on this place. The shoestring fries were great and the burger was very tasty. I found my new favorite burger joint

I got the mushroom burger.... and what was called-- the biggest burger they have, is what is on his plate.

I was so excited by the hype on social media. We finally went and ordered. I'm sure this won't effect the business at all. But I was extremely disappointed in the food. We paid .... get ready-- $42 for the food pictured. The burgers had ZERO seasoning. Zero. My husbands burger was $14 and he is the least picky person on this earth. He said his burger had no flavor. If I had to guess. I would say this is a joint where locals get it good. (Or better) I would say they had the ability to do well, but perhaps that day they were so busy they didn't? Idk. But my onion rings were very very overdone. No salt. He barely got a handful of fries ( on top of his $14 burger!!) .... I wish them the best. But I won't ever go back.

Our quest to try new places continues! Bob's Hamburg is an Akron Landmark, it's been in business for 87 years!!!! WOW!!!! We are so excited to finally give it a try! I ordered the the Knife & Fork Burg and onion rings, Meshelle ordered the Undefeated Burger! BOOM!!!!

First time having bobs and I LOVED it. Better than swensons and WAY better than Ralleys. The root beer was absolutely amazing and served with a chilled mug. Very refreshing. I got the double cheeseburger and I could barely eat half. Even though these are smash burgers, they are VERY filling. But boy, do I love smash burgers and they make them perfectly. Kayla got the knife and fork cheeseburger and amazing the people there by devouring it in less than 10 minutes. Show off. They put just the right amount of sauces on, the onions are my favorite cut (super fine diced) and the bacon is nice and crispy. We will definitely be back

Extremely intimate historical setting. Loved Bobs Blazing Burger Great sauce and jalapeños. Fries amazing as well. They taste and smell just like carnival fries. Wife got the Rodeo Burger. Great flavor as well. Onion rings were top notch. Crisp and the onion stayed strong in the breading. Please try this place reminds me of going to a relatives house for a cookout but way better. Great job

    Amazing fries!

It's less than a 10 minute drive from downtown Akron but it's off the beaten path. All locals (except me) in here. When I went (10AM Friday) the place was almost full, and I was dining alone, so I sat at the counter, happily next to the kitchen. To look at the kitchen was like looking inside a bee hive, bustling with activity but barely a sound. I could just make out what was being calmly stated "2 Silver Dollar, Salmon, Country Fried, 2 Over Easy..." It was fun to watch, but what was important was the output. It took just over 6 minutes from the time I order until it was sitting in front of me, and everything was perfect! The waitresses were so efficient. I saw my order hit the window and in about 12 seconds it was delivered. They were so customer focused, they were (jokingly) fighting over refilling my tea. When I was done and paid for I waited outside for Uber to pick me up (3 min). I looked back on what I'd just experienced, and snapped a picture of the two parking lots of cars for Fred's Diner. I counted and there were 32 cars at Fred's. OK maybe 10 were staff so 22 cars for customers, let's say on average there were 2 customers per car (remember I walked here so no car for me). By my calculation, Fred's was feeding 44 people every 30 minutes or so. No wonder they're only open 4 days a week and only for breakfast - lunch. I calculate they might serve 3200 meals in those 4 days, and then take 3 days off to get ready for the next week. I love this place. Wish I lived here so I could come more often.

They were reasonably busy but we got seated quickly at a table for four. Service started out friendly but we were pretty much ignored after the onset. Our waters were empty and never refilled and we had to get another server's attention in order to get a refill on coffee. The food itself was just okay...not bad but nothing remarkable, in our opinion. Our party got a western omelet, a pancake and slice of French toast, and the beef tenderloin and egg special. My pancake was good but I did not care for the French toast and the syrup it was served with was just a packet of Smuckers. My husband said his omelet was just okay and the hash browns were pretty greasy. The others in our party liked the special but it didn't sit great with them afterward. Not a horrible experience at all, but I'd choose another spot for brunch next time.

Sooo good. Fries were crispy, hot, and plentiful on everyone's plate. The kids chicken strip meal was unbelievably crispy and juicy and flavorful. Two burgers were ordered and both were loved.
