We found this cool spot on our way to the Pro Football Hall of Fame. They opened on Sunday at 12 pm. Perfect timing for us. We had in-car service. Lauren, our waitress, was a tremendous help. Lauren was very nice and offered excellent service. The food really hit the spot. The onion rings were especially delicious. And their homemade root beer was awesome. Although the size of the burgers and hot dogs were on the small side, they were delicious. Being able to eat at their picnic area, overlooking the Pro Football Hall of Fame was great. I'm glad we were able to find this local spot. I highly recommend this spot, especially if you are heading toward the Canton, Ohio area. read more

Being a small business owner myself. This owner is ruining what supposed to be a staple in Canton,Oh. Wife and I like going to small businesses that are locally owned as others do the same for us. This is a cute little place well kept and clean with one exception! Let me tell you our experience. Pulled in nice young lady came up and took our order. 2 x Hotdogs w/ cheese 1 x Chicken Sandwich w/pickles 2 x Orders of fries 2 x Root-beers Order came out pretty quick nice Issue #1 - Tge young lady asked for my money I paid her. I take 1 root beer off the tray and hand it to my wife the young lady hits and dumps the other one in my lap. She apologizes repeatedly. I'm not mad that I'm covered in root beer more pissed that it's dumped down in the pocket of my doors and all over the items in the door. She runs and gets towels etc. Issue #2 They forgot my wife's chicken sandwich. When we asked about it the girl left and came back and said are you sure it's not there in an accusatory way. We showed what we had. She went and got the sandwich. Issue #3 We ordered my wife's chicken sandwich with pickles. There were no pickles on it. So we tell the young lady. She goes and gets pickles brings them to us and says. 50 cents please! We told her we had already paid for them due to us ordering them with the sandwich. She leaves. A minute later what I believe to be the owner an African American gentlemen is standing at my truck door and says he needs paid 50 cents for his pickles. We explain that we ordered the sandwich with pickles and had already paid for them. He in a threatening manner said he wants 50 cents for his pickles.I gave him 2 quarters and he stomped away. Rule number 1 when you have a situation where an employee assaults a customer with a drink time to be nice. Remember customers always right. Rule number 2 read your orders and fill them properly and you won't need to be rude to your customers and go ask for additional money for an order that you in fact screwed up! Most importantly here I felt that I was racially discriminated against by this gentlemen! I recommend to anyone planning on visiting this establishment don't waste your money. I have been coming here my entire life. I now live in Los Angeles and made a visit home w/ Woody's on my must see list. I ordered a well done hotdog, on the grille, with mustard and onions. I repeated it again after my sisters order was in. The hotdog came cold in the center and not well done. Not a big deal. I mentioned it to the waitress and she said OK let me ask, you'll probably just have to pay for it. I was surprised. Why am I having to pay for something I already paid for. None the less the waitresses never came back to us to let us know what the kitchen said. My sister eventually said "hey, are we replacing the hot dog?" The waitress said yes. You just have to pay for it. I then said. "Let me speak to the manager". The manager came out saying we don't make hot dogs this way? Well, I wasn't told that when I ordered it. She began to say I was making a big deal over a $2.50 cent hot dog. Really? Who's making the big deal of the $2.50 hot dog. What happened to customer service and getting what you ordered? I decided to support a local business and treat my mom to lunch at the same time! I ordered takeaway so we could eat at her house (instead of in my car). My mom got the Coney Dog (they didn't have the chili, cheese, and diced onion option, which is typical on a Coney Dog, so she got mustard, ketchup & relish). I ordered a cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato, pickles, mayo, and mustard. We split an order of onion rings, an order of fried mushrooms, ranch dipping sauce, and a chocolate malt with extra malt. Been a customer since before it was called Woody's. I remember when you could buy a quart of root beer for a quarter. The Root Beer Stand opening was always the sign that spring had arrived, and a rite of passage for each new generation of kids. You just had to have a root beer and a hot dog at least a few times each summer. Not any more folks. I've tried three times this year, and each time it has gotten worse. Fortunately the root beer is still good, but that is where it ends. Poor service, mistaken orders, shortchanged. Definitely gone off the rails. I gave it a few extra tries thinking that the young staff would catch on, but things have gotten worse. It starts at the top. Poor management, not nearly the same as when Marcia ran a tight ship. Save yourself the aggravation. If the current management is lucky, the Hall of Fame Village will declare eminent domain, buy the corner, take down the place and put up charging stations for the coming wave of EV's. While they are at it, park a bunch of those 2 wheel Birds that are polluting the city with aluminum trash. The thrill is gone for both. read more

We ordered the creamy chicken sandwiches, fried mushrooms, and a gallon of root beer. The creamy chicken sandwiches were super salty without a lot of flavor and I didn't like the consistency (almost blended chicken with cream?). The fried mushrooms needed a little more sauce but were good. The root beer was definitely yummy! Ah Woody old friend... it's been a while. This was a long time childhood favorite, Woody's root beer and miniature golf. Well no more golf, but Woody's hasn't changed. Awesome homemade root beer, seemingly the same delish breaded mushrooms with ranch of my youth :) and great round, melty grilled cheese for the little. They have delish burgers and onion rings, and next visit is for root bear floats. The car side window service is great, we had two servers checking on us and they were super friendly and quick. Woodys is a nostalgic place with classic drive-in food. The ice cream and root beer are good but we didn't enjoy the food. The creamed chicken was super dry, like it had been on the burner too long. Ordered onion rings and for $3.50 i got five onion rings and they were not giant. What they were was greasy, large pools of oil beneath them and super overdone. Service was slow the day we went, waited about 25 min to get our stuff. We didn't mind that, it was a lovely day and we had nothing to do. Overall Woodys is a local joint with lots of memories for some. Its a neat thing to do once a season. We just stick to the ice cream. read more

Although I didn't grow up in Canton, I've quickly learned this is a longtime favorite & can see why. I've been here numerous times- classic drive in style- order & food comes out on a tray that hooks to the windshield. On our most recent trip we rode our bikes down & grabbed a picnic table in the back. My biggest piece of advice? Get the grilled cheese! Or two! With American. I'm not a huge grilled cheese fan (unless we are talking Brie, fontina, Gouda....) but this is so good the first time I tried a bite of someone's I almost ate the whole thing! A nostalgic place for me. My Mom used to take me to Woody's as a reward for being good as a kid. The place hasn't changed much and that is a good thing. Pull into a parking spot and a girl will approach your car. Menu is posted on the side of the orange-colored building. This time I went with a baby root beer---a 2oz glass mug of their delicious root beer. Just enough to elicit good memories and taste great. An institution in Canton for sure. Good, old-fashioned root beer served in glass tankards. I've never had any sandwich or side order that wasn't hot and good tasting. Once in a while I'll order a float and they are yummy. The service was quick due to one other car there. Anyway, the food was not at all what i was used to in the past years. Order to go, 2 sloppy joes with onions and vanilla shake. My girl ordered aswiss cheese burger. no pickles or relish. got home, the swiss cheeseburger had pickles and relish. My sloppy joes were a mess. no onions, folded in half like they were sopposed to be. Buns were hard on one side and saturated on other. Shakes were good thow.
