My three year old son's jacket had the zipper slide break, and I found Bob's via an internet search for "zipper replacement" - they were close, so I called. I was quoted a price that was within my range so I drove the coat over at lunchtime, thinking I'd have to drop it off and come back in a few days. Within 5 minutes in the store, the coat was fixed at an absolutely fair (and fantastic) price! What had me scrambling on one of the coldest days of the winter so far was fixed so fast and with great service - my son is extremely happy to have his beloved red coat to wear and I'm happy because I found a great new place to repair my shoes and other things. Unless you have unlimited funds and are independently wealthy, this is not the place for anyone who is cost conscious or fiscally responsible! I looked online for a shoe repair place that didn't have negative comments. While their work is satisfactory, I don't like that they don't have pricing posted, don't tell you pricing up front so you can make choices and when you pick something up, pricing changes! I brought in two pairs of boots to have taplet heals replaced. I was told they were $17.50 for each pair. When I picked them up, I was charged $15.00 each. When I questioned this I was told I was given a wrong price originally. I was pleased the price was less. I gave them two more pairs of shoes to do the same work. They asked if I wanted them to clean the salt off. I said "If you want". At no time did they tell me a price for this service. I picked up my shoes yesterday. The price for the heals was now $18.50 each and the cleaning was $7.00. I was expecting the $15.00 I was quoted from last time, plus a cleaning fee. I was charged MORE than what I was originally quoted. What's up with all the price changing?! By the time I was done yesterday, it cost me double of what I was expecting and the response you get when I addressed this is, "Bob likes to give deals. & I've told him we need to put up a price board, but he doesn't do it". If they put up a price board, that means they can't charge whatever the mood strikes them! As I said, the workmanship was satisfactory, but I will definitely NOT be going back unless absolutely necessary and will be telling as many people as possible to avoid this place! read more

Not the same anymore. Stopped today with something that needed 2 stitches and Bob would have done on the spot and was told it would be a week. Won't be back. They should change the name so people don't think Bob is still there and doing business this way. read more

I went to have a vent put in the side of a Tory Burch boot, brand new. They did the WORST job, ruined the boots. They told me that is how they do it and walked away. I asked if I could pay and leave and the big guy just said, "take em". They cut out a triangle of my leather, put in the cheapest black elastic, the elastic was frayed at the top and coming apart, I showed them, they took a scissors in front of me and cut it off. The sewing looked like a 5 year old did it by hand, the edges where they cut the leather were rough and not even polished black. I will now go to a GOOD shoe repair. It is no longer Bobs, someone else bought it and everyone there when I was there was complaining about the lousy job read more

Brought two pairs of lace up boots to have new heals put on. both jobs were botched. the first pair Bob fixed and was apologetic. Second pair I didn't deal with Bob, employee working said that if I didn't like the service I should never come back. That is exactly what I will be doing and will never set foot in that shop again. If you have higher end shoes, aldens, carminas, allen edmonds, etc. then I would highly suggest you do not bring them here as they appear to be targeted towards cheap fixes. You might end up in same situation where shoe is made significantly worse which requires more $ to fix somewhere else. read more

I brought my wife's Frye boots in. They needed resole on the front part of the shoe, new heel tips and the "wrapping" on the heel was damaged. Quoted me 45.00. I came back to get them and was surprised they didn't replace the entire sole, just cut the leather where it contacts the ground and glued the seam together. Did not replace the heel wrap. My wife wore them for all of 3 hours and the glued seam came apart. I brought them back and told him to re-glue the sole. I also asked why he didn't repair the heel wrap. He said, you didn't ask me to, it's 25.00 each. They clearly needed to be replaced. This was done the second time around, we'll see if the sole stays glued. I would say Bob's doesn't take a lot of pride in what they do and it shows. I'll be cleaning the excess glue off of the outside of the boots now. read more

Went in hoping to be pleasantly surprised and just the opposite happened. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with their work there wasn't any initiation of a redo on their part. I requested that the work be done over and the second time was just as bad as the first. My item is ruined!! read more

Bob's Shoe Repair fixed the zippers on two small animal carriers that my dogs can't live without. The zippers are now working better than new. This saved me a bundle as the carriers were very expensive and the total repairs were about $25, total. Superb customer service and the work was done in just a few days. read more

Well something has definitely changed at Bob's. Used to absolutely love the place. Last three times, not so good. Attention to detail and a quality job is definitely lacking. Time to shop for a new shoe cobbler. Want the old Bob's Shoe Repair back. read more

WOW! I thought I was drunk or dreaming when I pick up my briefcase. I had an extremely work worn expensive leather briefcase (cuts, fading, scuffs, scratches, handle wear, paint transfers, ink staining on the inside, etc.). At dropoff they said they could do anything about the ink stain, but they would try. At pickup, it was gorgeous! No it did not look brand new (nor could anyone beyond God do that), but the 26 year old briefcase looked like it was 5 years old. Best part now $35. Even if I would need to get this touched up every 3 years (like you should for detailing a car), it is so worth it. Large large exposure to the business world. Quality-Value/Cost ratio could not be higher, and I am extremely picky. Oh, great enagaging pleasant, down to earth staff. read more
