The subs are affordable but the real snack is the manager Hannah. Always positive and always sweet talks me into getting a combo to save 50 cents. Big Paul loves Bob's subs. I always get the Senior because I'm 370 lbs with 55% body fat. There is no reason to pay $9 for a steak sandwich at Sheetz if Bob's is open. There is no comparison. Highly recommend. Only complaint has nothing to do with the food and it's why they get 4/5 and not 5 stars. Take out the trash more often and watch the bees around the fountain drinks. read more

Nothing like going to a college town and getting subs before a tailgate. Bobs subs has a great variety of subs to pick from. They have three sizes. I always get the medium size and it fills me up, honestly could eat only half and save some for later but they are too darn good. The fixins are so fresh and at no extra charge. Huge subs at such a great price value. The medium size is 8 to 9 inches for at approximately 6 dollars each! Definitely a steal. I got two to go and they were fabulous. Just stopped in for a quick late lunch and was pleasantly surprised! Never been here but will definitely come back when I'm in town! I got a #1 Bobs delight junior sized and it was definitely not junior in any way. It was perfectly made and not one ingredient over powered the others. Bob's is the "new" Sub shop in town--a spinoff of a mother store in Clarion or Slippery Rock or one of those other PA small college towns (I can't tell one of 'em from another). I decided to give them a try, and found their italian hoagie to be blandly mediocre--not as bad as the bad reviews written before mine, but not as awesome as the breathless, obviously fake reviews that you'll find in the "filtered reviews" section (come on guys, if you're going to try to fool me at least vary your syntax a little.) But I digress. The Bob's sub was remarkably ordinary--I got it warm and to go, so it was a little limp from the 5 minute jaunt home, but I gave them a pass. It wasn't greasy, just...unremarkable. Nothing special about it, but not nearly as good as it's neighbors. 9th St, Steel City, even Subs and Suds offer better and often bigger for the money. This is a frustrating review--nothing good to say, nothing bad to say. But that says a lot, doesn't it? I'll be real curious to see if this place can make it. I'm betting not. read more

Went to Bobs subs a couple of time while I was down in Indiana. Had the veggie sub and it was great. Their bread was amazing!

Hands down best subs in Indiana. My boyfriend and I come here weekly. Bob's is the main things we will miss when we graduate.

After careful consideration, I have reached the conclusion that Bob's is better than 'another sandwich shop in town' that is also good. Their sandwiches don't blow my mind, but they're good and definitely worth a visit. Try it out and decide for yourself, and hey, if you're an IUP student like me, walk a few blocks away from Sheets and get some much better food on Philly St. (though I do respect Sheets' attempt, and the fact that they sell beer until 2am - support Sheets, but you know, this is a level up for the same price) ...and as for that other place on 7th St., you forgot my egg (and the wait was rather long). At Bob's, the wait was reasonable and the food was tasty. The prices are a little high considering that this is literally 'nowhere' - the middle of it. Prices seem to be exploitative of the college town experience. If I can't buy a freakin' sandwich with a $10 bill, you're ripping me off, basically, but that's just how it is. Here. Where I'm from. That's my gripe about this place, the other place, and well, if you want a better review then provide better value. On quality and flavor, full points. Overall, 3 stars out of 5. The ambiance is a little weird too. I am NOT a fan of the open window storefront. When I go 'to' a place to eat, I don't want wind and noise and bees and smoke and all that stuff from outside to be persistent while I'm eating. I want to sit down, inside, and take a break. So, points off for that. Not a bad place at all. Good food, but not mind blowing, but better than the other places... so if you're out here, I'd say pick this over other options. read more

I visited Bob's Sub in Indiana for the first time yesterday, and I have to say I enjoyed my experience from beginning to end. The young man behind the counter was very pleasant, the restaurant was CLEAN, and the food was good! I ordered the small spicy italian sub, side of macaroni salad, and vanilla milk shake. At first glance, I was surprised to see the size of the macaroni salad. However, by the time I finished my meal, I thought it was the perfect portion. Anymore and I would not have been able to finish my SHAKE...which by the way, I LOVED! I am glad I didn't have a chance to read the other reviews prior to visiting Indiana or I might not have given Bob's a try. I would recommend Bob's Sub and I definitely suggest you try it for yourself! read more

I went here today to grab some lunch with my girlfriend. We were looking for some place new to eat in town and both wanted subs...so we decided to go to bob's because we have never been there. The restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was relaxing. I found the bread to be crisp and fresh. The meat was good, but nothing really stood out about it. The veggies where fresh and exactly how veggies should taste. I guess the cons of this place are there is no meal deal which would be nice and the subs could use some more meat on them. Overall, I would say they are tied for best subs in town I'm not crazy either because my girlfriend said the same thing! read more

Fabulous quadrupled!!!!! I'm not sure how anyone could say these subs are soggy... They're TOASTED AND MADE FRESH!!!! Sooooo good!!!!! The staff is so friendly and do all they can to make your meal and visit enjoyable!!! I would eat here every day if possible! If you don't want mayo... Just tried a Senior sized steak & cheese sub from Bob's Subs. Along with that, I had sea salt chips, and a chocolate milkshake. The sub is full of flavors, which is why I preference it over any of the other cheesesteaks in Indiana. Don't get me wrong...I love a plain, old fashioned cheesesteak, but no one in Indiana seems to be able to make a good one. With that being said, if you get the steak and cheese sub here, with everything, it is full of flavor and actually a good value for your money. The only problem with this sub is that they pile A LOT of steak onto the sub. A good chunk of it just falls off the sub when picking it up, and eating it. If they used a little less, it would be great! Just a personal complaint. I do have to say though, that you get your money's worth. A nice selection of chips helps to compliment a sub, and I think they have a good selection. My favorite thing about this experience, is the Chocolate Milkshake. It is seriously THE BEST chocolate milkshake I have ever had. Overall, this is a great place for lunch or dinner. The atmosphere is clean, friendly, and the service I received was wonderful. I was weary of trying this place, because of the prior reviews...but I went with my thought that I won't know until I try it. So if you have the opportunity, give this place a try. The best subs are only as good as the bread they come on and the bread here is good. The fillings seem high quality and generous. Prices about right and service may be a touch slow but the end result always pleases. Salads are also huge and good. read more

The subs are good, but the service is unacceptable. Today I had to wait over an hour for two subs, and the people behind the counter rushed an order for two people who got there 15 to 20 minutes after me because they said they couldn't wait any longer. Today was exceptionally slow but unfortunately that's not uncommon. I have had to wait for over 15 minutes with only one or two other costumers in the restaurant. Good choice if you have absolutely nothing better to do for the next few hours. Update: I got home and went to eat my sub and, on top of everything else, they screwed up my order. I have had bob's before in New Kensington as well as Clarion and always preferred them over Subway and Jimmy Johns. I don't eat here often but when I do they are pretty good. Sometimes the wait can be a little long as a lot of weekday evenings (around 8ish) they usually are only staffed with one member. Which in a college town can always be hit or miss. The woman that works there and I have seen a few times is always nice even with having to run around like a crazy person. read more

Just tried Bob's subs for the first time and honestly, they were the worst I have ever had. If your idea of a good sub is a soggy roll with globs and globs of mayo, mostly lettuce and barely a shred of low quality meat and cheese, then this is the place for you. I am a hoagie lover and we actually threw this "food" out after a few bites. My sister raved about Bob's subs in Slippery Rock so I was happy to try it when they opened one here. Big waste of money. I don't know, maybe they had someone not well trained making the food tonight? I won't risk this place again, it was disgusting. read more

I was very excited to try Bob's Subs for the first time and it was definately not a disappointment. I had the special Buffalo Chicken sub and it was delicious. Every friend of mine had a different sub and they all enjoyed each one. I traveled over an hour to visit the beauitful and well decorated new shop and would travel over and over again for the legacy of a Bob's Sub. This is the best sandwich shop around! You should definitely check out their new buffalo chicken sub, it's pretty damn awesome if I do say so myself. They also have a late night window open Wednesday through Saturday, which is a great way to fuel those drunk munchies. Bob's even has live entertainment on some days.
