While visiting Indiana, PA, we searched out a breakfast joint that is a favorite of the locals. Cannella Cafe is located downtown and was consistently busy during our visit. The staff were friendly but inattentive. As for the food, it left a lot to be desired. The over-easy eggs came out over-medium at best. The light yellow egg yolks are an easy sign of low quality/cheap eggs. The sausage and bacon were fine. The "Cafe Mess" bowl was an interesting concept, but the cheese appeared to be a Kraft single. The food was very mid and, therefore, we are not very likely to return. read more

We found Canella Cafe on Yelp. But ironically we realized that we had passed by many times without realizing it. Just stepping through the front door, we knew we had found our new favorite breakfast place. The decor, the design of the seating, the arrangement of all of The interior design lends itself to a modern warm and fun breakfast experience. The breakfast menu is terrific. I had a mocha and their Cinnamon Roll pancakes with bacon. I was very happy with the food. Our waitress was friendly, courteous and helpful in explaining their menu items. WHATEVER YOU DO YOU MUST ORDER THE CINNAMON ROLL PANCAKES. Crouse's is operating under a different name now but the cinnamon roll pancakes are still on the menu and they need to be in your belly. Because I am not yet diabetic I also ordered and thoroughly enjoyed the coconut cookie latte. Here for my friends wedding who is an IUP Alum and recommended us to come here and thank goodness he did! The place was max capacity, but the staff cleaned the tables immediately after people left and had the place moving very quickly. We got seated quickly despite the long line, and were approached by the server right after taking our seats. We ordered our food and before we knew it the food was right in front of our faces! All three of us had no complaints with the food it was hot and delicious. Overall the experience was phenomenal. The tables were very close together so for people worried about covid this may be a bit unsettling. But from start to finish this was a great small town breakfast cafe and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Indiana, PA! read more

There's usually a short wait before getting sat at a table, but the employees tend to keep the flow going to to make sure everyone gets a table. The service is friendly and the food is served quickly! This time around I gave the chicken salad sandwich and home fries with peppers and onions a shot. I'd go 3.5 for this establishment which is settled in Downtown Indiana Pa, just outside of the college campus IUP. There was nothing overwhelming about any of our sandwiches which included my club or the wifes burger. The prospective college student had chicken fingers and she didn't even finish them. If you need a quick bite and you're looking for a sammich, I'd say try this place but it's nothing overwhelming. read more

This restaurant was one of the first I frequented once I moved to Indiana. The restaurant opens at 7AM and is one of the few open in Indiana at that time. I generally come for a late lunch, but still get breakfast food. The price of most items on the menu are relatively low, so you can eat here often and not break the bank. Also, free parking is in the back of the restaurant off of Gompers Ave. It took me a while to figure that out. I've had several different servers here and they've all been pleasant. The service is always good and the food comes out really fast. I'd recommend this restaurant for anyone getting lunch or breakfast in Indiana, but especially to someone who is looking something quick to eat in a sit down restaurant. read more
