Had an awesome time at Boca Black Box again last night. What an awesome venue this place is right here in Boca Raton on Glades Road, just west of the turnpike. They have excellent entertainment and you really can't miss with their seating selection. All their seats are great and let me tell you, they are all comfortable, they have tons of leg room plus they have cup holders. Last night we saw an excellent line up of three hilarious comedians- Fred Rubino, Tammy Pescatelli and Mike Marino. Each of them on their own were worth more than the cost of the modest admission. We laughed non-stop for almost 2 hours!! Afterwards the three of them came on stage and allowed the audience to do a Q&A with any of them and even with that, they were unprepared and hilarious! Boca Black Box has A+ entertainment, a huge bar, great, comfortable seating, a large, free parking lot.... This is something I don't find anywhere else in Florida and ALL for an extremely REASONABLE PRICE!!! Boca Black Box does it RIGHT!!! read more

Great Entertainment venue! Poor choice for musical talent. Michael Jackson tribute was painful! Bad costumes, long pants with buckles, dirty tee shirt. Lip syncing Poor dance moves, no fluidity. Multiple jacket changes, Not one dance move was imitated or similar to Michael Jackson! read more

I loved the venue because you feel somewhat cozy and close enough to the band. We went to see Viva classic rock band. Service was good . You can actually text the number to order and they'll bring it right to your seat. I did not ordered food. I did ordered drinks and they do have a great variety of alcoholic beverages and reg soft drinks. They have easy parking and free!!! I loved the vibe that this particular band brought to the crowd!!! read more

We were in the smaller of the two Black Boxes. We were not in the main stage of Black Box. We came to see "Talia Reese" an Orthodox Jewish women comic. We met up with our friends and it was super funny. I really enjoyed her skit as well as the ones that came before her. We did go to the bar and order a drink or two. The only thing was the line for the bathroom was super long...that needs a little improvement! read more

Place is filthy and rundown. Needs a major overhaul on everything from seats to the sound system. Don't waste your time or money.

What could have been a great pop-up speakeasy experience was seriously brought down by the venue itself. Microphones (usually considered a must for a spoken word performance of this type were cutting out right and left, leaving one performer to belt out his lines like a sideshow barker. The text option for ordering at the bar was an exercise in futility, as myself and at least 3 nearby patrons got a response from the bar and were then ignored for 30+ minutes before we got up and walked to the counter. read more

I really am loving this venue. It's the perfect size, the sound quality is solid and they just did an upgrade of the seats, which are super comfortable. They also got a new video screen behind the stage, which looks amazing. Since my original review I've seen quite a few more acts here including a Black Sabbath tribute band, Andrew Dice Clay, Vanilla Fudge and more, and I also have tickets for SNL alum Kevin Nealon which Im really looking forward too. Going to upgrade my rating from 3 to 5 stars, if you love comedy and live music I would definitely recommend checking out their schedule, there is so much to choose from! read more

We showed up here on Christmas Day for Yule Laugh Out Loud. They were fully booked and the venue is cozy and comfortable -- they know how to hold a full house together. Bar on the side with a fun crew and good drinks to warm up. This is just down the street from me -- it's been on my wishlist for some time and Christmas Day comedy made for the perfect first event. I came to The Edgar Allen Poe Speakeasy Cocktail Experience. This was my first time here. Black Box is in a shopping plaza with restaurants and other businesses around. It was easy to find the place. It has parking all around. If you want to get closer parking. You have to get here early. I got my ticket online. The process was smooth. There were a lot of people here. I was glad I came. The place had a big bar inside but understaffed. They also had some snacks for sale like pretzels, popcorn, nachos, nuts, and cotton candy. The people helping out with the drinks on the floor were also the actors. This event was fun and interactive. The actors did a great job. Some put a personal touch, lol. The drinks were all good and sneak up in you. I got a pretzel to help, and they are big. It was a good pretzel. I am a fan of Poes work, and so I enjoyed the experience. read more

Kind of a late review, but was there last winter and came for a Saturday performance with my wife, but I inadvertently brought tickets for the Friday night. Instead of turning us away, the manager made wonderful accommodations for us with just charging us a service fee. Could be more happy with the venue, the staff and the performers. Will be back in January. read more

Went to see some bullshit show for Halloween it was suppose to start at 800pm.The so called ghost story teller came on at 825 spoke for 5 minutes then the lights came on.They were passing around free garbage drinks probably to get everyone drunk just to cover up how bad it really was.We left at 845 complaining to the owner who brushed us off. Like really di-k H-ad no refund or apology never again I guess $$$$$$$$$is more important that keeping your customers happy. even in the best places in NYC want their customers to be happy and would offer some sort of compensation to keep the people happy.Not this place. My Spouse Bryan Dail recently Performed Comedy there @ Boca Black Box, and I must say I was impressed with their hospitality, they were very gracious and The Hostess Danielle was very accommodating, she greeted us upon arrival with a smile, moved 2 chairs so I can sit near front ..I'm very impressed with the staff and how gracious they were to Our family!!! I took some family to see a Sinatra tribute show at The Boca Black Box. It looked like there's not a bad seat in the place. The seats are comfortable. They do serve drinks and have a text number set up so your drinks will be brought to you from the bar. We didn't order food. I don't remember if they have food. Get there early to get a parking spot. Just a little Disappointed with tonight's venue a tribute to 3 Dog Night the performers were good but I didn't really feel like the Three Dog night just wanted to let you know we have seen shows there before but tonight's show just didn't do it for me. So we came here because we purchased tickets to see comedian joselito dapuppet. We are new to the area so we are always purchasing Groupons and getting recommendations from the locals. So first off the show was amazing we have been watching joselito on Instagram for years now and we're super soaked that he was coming to perform near us. The theatre was small which we loved. The waitress staff was amazing -they have a text system that you just text your drink order to them and they bring to your seat. The drink costs were reasonable , what you would expect to pay when you go out. (See photo below for pricing ) We ordered some popcorn and pretzels which were packaged , so we weren't to crazy about hence the 4 stars not 5. The ambiance was casual and relaxed - mostly Hispanic but that was expected since joselito is a Spanish puppet. There was only one person in the audience that complained about him speaking Spanish- guess she didn't get the memo about him being Hispanic lol helloooooo have you not watched his videos lol. We enjoyed his show to the fullest and would def Visit this venue again. read more

I have seen a lot of shows here. Some good some not so good. Mostly good. It was amazing to see Rita Rudner in person. After seeing her for so many years on television. The Beatles review was great. The ABA review was amazing. Some other acts were very good. It's a nice local place clean and easy to get to. read more

A great live music venue, non-smoking, with good views of the band. BUT... I pretty much have given up on going to comedy clubs because the comedians are for the most part crass and foul. My wife and I discovered K-Von, who is a very funny comedian without having to dip into the bucket of vile humor and she wanted to go there so I gave her a ticket for a late mother's Day present. If I was reviewing him I would give him five stars, but the MC and (I believe) owner of the club opened the act with a very vulgar routine that really wasn't even that funny. I have no desire hearing about tinder bad dates and strange sexual acts. K-Von's actual opener then took liberties He probably normally wouldn't have because the MC set the tone. Again, K-Von's routine was hilarious and at the worst PG-13, Too bad the MC had to open the night with hard R. I have to to believe that the owner of the club knew that he was booking a clean comic and he could have at least kept the experience over the whole night in that genre. He has had the comic there before apparently. I've been to live music shows there (and actually performed there in a tribute band) ... But the lack of discretion on the owner's part has turned me off about the venue. read more

I attended the Edgar Allen Poe speakeasy event at Boca Black Box last night. It started 1/2 hour late, so most people waited an hour to get in. My friend who is a sweet and kind lady stopped literally 2 seconds to take a picture as everyone was walking in and was stopped by the owner for holding up the line. She said sir I was just trying to take a picture. We waited 45 min and I just wanted to take a picture. He screamed obscenities in her face "F*** you! Get the F*** out of here." I heard it myself, but didn't realize it was directed at my friend who was behind me. He literally kicked her out of the event that she paid to attend. He came back out and screamed and cursed at her a second time as she was standing out front. It was misogynistic and completely unacceptable behavior. There was a large group of us, and another friend left with her. This lady is super nice and did not deserve this treatment. She insisted no one else leave and handled the situation with grace. read more

I saw a Led Zeppelin cover band here. The venue is FUN with great seating and good visibility of the performance area. Staff was great. Drinks a little pricey but that's expected. Super fun venue with great views and seating options anywhere in the building! read more

We enjoyed this first time visit to Boca Black Box. In a surprising location in a strip mall setting, it is quite the setting. Larger that we expected but cozy at the same time. It has a convenient bar in the performance space. I don't know why people complain about the bar prices. They have to realize how expensive it is to operate a business like this. We saw Keiko Matsui's trio. All three musicians were excellent. I would love to see fewer comics and tribute bands here, as these shows don't interest us. read more

The 3 times I have gone there, the tribute bands have been absolutely excellent. We saw tribute to Blues Brothers,Bee Gees and most recent Super Soul 70 ( very good). The price is reasonable, drinks are expensive and mediocre, there are good snacks.
