Still only rating two stars from my last review because if anything my experience was worse. I have seen lots of great shows at The Funky Biscuit, but my last visit was terrible and probably was my last visit. When you buy a ticket online there is no way to tell from the seating map if you have an obstructed view. We had been waiting for the show a long time and we were happy to be attending until they showed us to our table which was behind a pole coming out of the middle of the table and only allowing us minimal table space. Also, I accidentally booked a high top which I normally would never do because nobody wants to sit on one of those chairs for an entire show. Additionally, because you are required to spend money on food and drink it is the worst having that little, tiny space of a table as the support pole took up most of it. We were going to suck it up as a lesson learned until the server came by to take our order reeking of cigarettes and sweat and he absolutely disgusted us. Usually, we get an efficient gal server who takes good care of us but after seeing the table and meeting the server who would be taking care of us between smoke breaks, we left before the show vowing to never return. The food for the most part is hit and miss. I have enjoyed the fish dip, wings, and onion soup but most everything else I have had there was mediocre to just plain bad. My take on it is if you cannot get a table up front, go for the very back section up on a riser because you don't want the pole table which is a buzz killer. Also, you don't want the sweaty stinky server. read more

They also have a happy hour on Friday with free admission at 5 PM. Drink specials and happy hour food specials. read more

Dropped in late night while visiting Boca. Found this funky little gem. Walked in.... there was a cover since they had a live band... no worries I love supporting the arts. We paid a little extra to have a table but that does require food and drink minimum. Ordered drinks I got the espress yourself perfect late night pick me up. Now I was ready for a drunk snack and the menu looked great and that is what helped us decide on the funky biscuit as our stop. However about 10 minutes after ordering they came back to let us know that the kitchen had to unexpectedly close due to a family emergency for the cook ( I really hope everything is ok). We ended up ordering a second round of drinks to reach our table minimum since we couldn't get snacks I look forward to retuning to try the food next time I'm in town. I had the shrimp and cheesy grits. The grits and shrimp were cooked to perfection. The staff was attentive. The drinks were not watered down like some bars. Very tasty! We ate outside during part of the first show while waiting for the 9 pm show. It was great as they had TV's outside so I could get a sample of what it was going to be like. This was my first jazz concert and I am hooked. Maria Meadows and band were phenomenal. I will definitely be going again to the Funky Biscuit for delicious food, drink and entertainment. read more

The Funky Biscuit has a really nice vibe to it; the seating is right in front of the stage and the sight lines are good. Our food was surprisingly good - the Shrimp Po Boy was full of plump, tasty shrimp and the salads were all fresh and good sized. No surprise - the drinks were great. While there were plenty of servers, ours was either distracted or disinterested, which was too bad. read more

We enjoyed our visit to The Funky Biscuit. Not going to down play the 15 mins we drove around looking for a legal parking spot. A good Warning ‼ watch where you park Other than that we were anxious to get in because one of our favorite bands were performing that night. They offer indoor & outdoor seating however that night all the inside tables were reserved Ok so we decided to grab a table out on the patio. We certainly enjoyed the service food,music & atmosphere out on the patio. Our waitress never forgot about us & checked in with us a few time. They had a few tables set up on the patio with some vendors selling some cool stuff. Art,jewelry,shirts & yess dresses.... How cool Oh boy did Crazy Fingers perform that Taco Tuesday! We ordered cocktails before during & after the show. To start we order the spinach & artichoke dip with chips (it was taco Tuesday) so you guessed it we filled up on the tacos! then more tacos Calypso tacos with chicken. Then we enjoyed shrimp & grits. Everything was REALLY good We have been backa few times & the food is pretty consistent. We will always recommend the food & a Crazy Fingers concert at The Funky Biscuit. Love this venue! They have a great line up of bands and all different types of music. The place is intimate and good sound for the bands. The staff is efficient, friendly and always nice. The food is decent and we never had a dish that we didn't enjoy. Nice Outdoor area to hang out during admission if you like with ample seating. Prices for events are also reasonable. I love the atmosphere of this place. Just the right size to be listening and swaying to the music. And the sound system is amazing. Incredible the wealth of talent I have seen there.the cover charge of $25 per seat is easy to fill with drinks or pretty good food off their menu. Always such a nice experience there. What an awesome place! Saw Caroline Wonderland 01/10/2026 seated at the stage and was overwhelmed by such a uniquely great performance. Made some hard choices with the dinner menu so now must return several times to order the rest, then repeat. Excellent food and service throughout the evening. Certainly a friendly, organized, clean venue that's neither too big nor too small and well run with a huge bar. A very full, deeply emotional and intense act by Ms. Wonderland and friends who also graciously hung out with the crowd for pictures and endless chat outside after the show. Tonight was date night and we went with a musical mystery theme, starting at Funky Biscuit for a band neither of us had heard of. This was both our first time here but it won't be the last! Located around the back side of Mizner, parking suuuuuucks, but the venue itself is great. Dark and divey, with a decently sized stage, plus fast and friendly bartenders. Located near Mizner Park, the Funky Biscuit is a great venue for live music in Boca Raton. Whether you're into rock, blues, jazz or reggae, there's always something on the calendar to satisfy any musical taste. Aside from a nice mix of local artists, the Funky Biscuit also gets some cool cover bands and veteran performances to play. We saw a Van Halen tribute there and it was great. The band rocked, the sound was loud and crystal clear and the vibe was great. As for the food, we got a variety of items, the hummus, pita and veggie plate, fries, burgers and chicken. It was OK, nothing to write home about. The service was actually pretty good though, despite it being loud and busy. The waiter kept coming back to check and see if we needed anything and he also kept brining us refills which hit the spot. The only thing that's sucked was paying the check as the show ended. At once, 300 people wanted to pay and go, so we had to wait a bit to leave. Not ideal but not the end of the world either. All in all, great spot. I'd definitely recommend checking out their calendar to see if there's any shows of interest! read more

I had so much fun at The Funky Biscuit! I came to see a live show (Mike Zito) on my own, and sat at the bar. The bartenders were pleasant and helpful. I had one of their burgers (the Voodoo Blue Burger), which was very tasty. They also had a decent selection of beer and cocktails. Most importantly, the ambiance was very, very cool. It felt like an old-school blues club (minus the smoke), with a long history of live acts. The acoustics were excellent. The customers were there to have a good time - just a generally positive vibe. Monday is the absolute best night of the week. The Funky Biscuit Allstars are the best band in the area. They play every Monday and after them is a featured artist. The staff here are amazing. Unique venue in Boca for music and food. Loved the band and heard that the venue caters to various age demographics depending on the band and time of night. Just had an appetizer and beer, so no heavy views on food quality; service was good and seems there were sufficient servers on duty. Parking is always a challenge in this plaza so get here earlier. Went to see Yes tribute band. Ticket cost $53 with fees and band played for 1 hour. They also had a $25 min cover charge for food and drinks. Service was so slow by the time drinks came out half the show was over. Drinks are $17 each and there was no time to get another. A/C must have been broken as it was pretty warm inside They also had problems with their credit card processing as they requested payment by cash. Very disappointed read more

Stopped by this bar restaurant located in Boca Raton for happy hour and music. The band was playing when we walked in and the place was pretty busy. We found seats at the bar. I had a happy hour house tequila sunrise for $3 a real bargain. We also shared a bowl of popcorn Shrimp $8. It was nice to listen to live entertainment. read more

Went there as a treat from my neighbors. Very excited to see a live band in a long time. First impression, music way too loud. I'm no engineer that said, bass guitar over mixed, lead guitar weak. Could probably explain sound man/ engineer constantly going back to guitar player. Band was good, song selection was okay. Deafening volume was not appreciated.. I realized that most patrons including myself were over 60, that said, tone it down a bit. Food was below average. My neighbors got burnt on the 25 dollar minimum. And they were regular customers. Fortunately' I ordered 2 drinks and a dry chicken sandwich to cover my nut. I would not expect to visit again. The acoustics suck. Too much money for a sub par experience. They would get a 5 star if they opened up on time on Friday (5pm) instead of making everyone wait outside until they were ready, which can be 5:15 or later. Southeast Florida in the summer is not the place to be waiting in the hot sun! read more

Music venue (call is 3.5 stars) Looking for a night out to see some of your favorite performers? Hit the Biscuit. The Funky Biscuit features a mix of bands that might be considered a little past their prime (but that also depends on the music genre), tribute bands and up and coming artists. The place is sort of a bar, but more of a nightclub where you reserve a table and can eat dinner while watching the show. Personally, I prefer these places to be more of a bar atmosphere. The tables tend to go fast, and there is usually limited standing room available. It all depends on the act that is playing and the time of year. Crowd tends toward the older side, and if you can get a table, the food there is pretty good. They're not going to get any Michelin stars, but it is not the worst choice to eat there. They do offer a decent happy hour as well and there is a small section where you can sit outside. The staff working there all seem to be very good- bartenders are good and they make a decent libation. Bathrooms are large and clean (at least the mens room is). The downside is parking kind of sucks- there are a lot of restaurants in the same area so while there are a lot of parking spots, you need to get there early to park close by- most likely you are going to have to hoof it. All in all a very good place to see a band - check their calendar for what is coming up. read more

As I mentioned in my previous review, I have been coming to The Funky Biscuit for over 10 years, at least 2 times every year and I don't do it more often because I live in Miami and it requires a 2+ hours drive and a hotel stay. Over the years the lighting and sound have improved big time, the service has fluctuated significantly, prior-COVID it was a team and after-COVID they are still finding the right-TEAM. We have always come for the early show and eaten here, their menu is not fancy but we always find a couple of appetizers, then I normally get the Mahi-mahi and we finish with their famous Funky-Biscuit as desert. This time we changed our routine completely. We went to Louie Bossi's Ristorante with a good friend and his wife that live in Boca for a wine-dinner. We both are wine collectors and I got the corkage fee waived in Louie Bossi's, so it's a win-win for us and the restaurant since our bills are always $200+ and we add the "corkage" into the server's tip. Going back to the Funky, we arrived around 8:30, we were guided to our table by one of the managers, she was attentive, our server Jacob was super fast, we got water without asking for it within minutes, and he was on top of all his tables the whole night. The show started around 9:10 and it was a blast, the sound was great, lighting very good and the energy of Eric Darius super contagious! The house was packed with people maskless, might I add, which to me is a BLESSING. That's why a large percentage of the country is already vaccinated and protected, seeing people laughing, dancing and enjoying life was the highlight of the night. Next time I would love to go there and spend my money purchasing Funky Biscuit's food and giving the server a hefty tip. I'm not a fan of paying corkage fees, especially if I uncork my own bottle and serve it myself. After 10 years I'm "one more in the crowd", hopefully one day I'll be a regular and noticed as such at The Funky Biscuit... read more

Good HH prices and a full bar. Plus once in a while you are able to catch a good band and, if you are lucky, for free. Now, if they have bands that require cover, even if you have been there before it starts, they will ask you to move outside, regardless if you were already having drinks or even food. You will have to close your tab and move. Staff is a mix. I've had some really nice people serve me and others that are just "blah". Fun time was had by one and all! Taco Tuesday is a great deal as they have outstanding Margaritas for $5. I could not believe that they actually had a decent amount of alcohol in them. I tried the shrimp tacos which were very tasty. hubby had the pork ones which were equally as good. I must confess we didn't take advantage of the 2 tacos for $9 as we were very hungry since we did not have lunch. They were very filling and were seasoned just right.
