Saw the tribute show to Neil Diamond. Yes, it had its really great moments. HOWEVER, the opening act was TERRIFIC. So I went to see K-Von here with a friend and we both had a really nice time. I didn't have food or drinks as we were going to eat afterwards. So I'm not sure why a few negative comments here but my show went well...no delays, no uncomfortable seats, a great crowd and reasonable ticket prices. I like smaller venus and this one has a nice bar area as well as a good video wall up on the stage. Parking shouldn't be a problem. read more

I would have really preferred giving a positive response to Black Box. I live in Boca now and want to prop up any local businesses but we had a rough time of Black Box Really rough. We stopped in last weekend as we had some tickets to a comedian that we bought some months ago. I have been to dozens of stand ups but had never been to Bocas local joint. the initial entry was tough as it was raining and everyone was piled into the small waiting area to the club. But the doors to the theater did open and a fella jumped on our group about being in the way of the door. Little did we know that was going to also be the same guy that was the feature act! We apologized for where we stood, although probably not necessary. The seats we had gotten were good. The act were baaaad. The MC, she tried to do a good set, but mostly we felt bad for the acts. There was no server, which I was surprised, I never saw that before. we were supposed to text a number for a drink. The vibe wasn't great so after the initial round we never got anything else. Again I felt bad for the club as I was guessing they made far less on drinks that most comedy clubs who required 2 minimum. I'm happy we have a comedy club in Boca, just wish it was better. read more

Boca Black Box is a good local venue.  They offer a nice assortment of wines, beers, and drinks.  All the seats in the house are good.  The only thing I would ding them on is that one of the letters on their neon marquee was burnt out.  I know it's not the most important thing, but it makes the place look a bit unkept and cheap. read more

Dec 2022, came here with friends to see Judy Gold the comedian who was wonderful. The inside has plenty of comfortable seating, with a bar and snack area. One thing I liked about the place is that you can text your drink order in giving them your seat number and the staff will bring you your order, you never have to leave your seat. I would definitely come back here again in the future, but would skip the Mediterranean Restaurant in the same complex, food in my opinion was just OK. read more

This is bar none the worst tribute band I have ever seen. I went to Bee Gee's because I saw great reviews, but now I understand they were all fake. The acoustics were terrible, the singers were terrible, even the lead singer pretended to play guitar. Waste of time and money. Would be happy to pay a high price if the performance was not a joke. The worst thing a merchant can do is not give you a truthful description. On the website it said that the show starts at 8 PM and ends at 10 PM. Last Thursday I went to the club and the show started between 15 and 20 minutes late. Instead of ending at 10 PM like it says in the description it finished at 9:15. I'm not sure how they expect to continue to do business or have Repeat business. I would never go there again. Not to mention the fact that they charge $17 for a 12 ounce drink which is completely ridiculous. So not only does the club overcharge But the content of the show was absolutely horrible. I didn't know this pace has been in Boca for the last few years! But my boyfriend and I came to see a comedian he really liked recently. The place isn't as big as you'd think but it's a neat spot! The bar gets REALLY busy before the show and quite crowded. They have a neat feature of texting your drink order to the bar. You might feel like you have to fight your way at the bar to get a drink, but one employee was exceptionally helpful and quick to help us out. We didn't catch her name, but you can't miss her, beautiful Asian girl. As soon as she saw us waiting, she was quick to grab our order so we could sit, and we got our order within 2 minutes. BOCA BLACK BOX SCAMMED us big time last night. DON'T EVER SUPPORT THIS VENUE: the "MANAGER", "BIBI" (she's like Cher, she doesn't own a last name) is rude and their marketing and advertising practices are shady. Total BAIT AND SWITCH. They take your hard earned money when you pay in advance for tickets to see a genuine act (The Gipsy Kings) and then replace the act with a terrible cover band ("Gipsy Kings' Pueblo's Gitanos", who, btw, sucked, and were not AT ALL "relatives of the band" as the Venue tried to claim once they were caught), switch up their advertising at the last minute, and then "surprise", it's the night of the show and your band isn't showing up. Is this even legal? UPDATE (in response to "owner", "Scott's" rude reply to me after my initial review): Scott: Yes, you DID sell me a ticket to see the "Gipsy Kings" back in June (see Band's name on actual ticket) and THEN you changed the advertisement on your website close to the date of the performance in December to try to get away with falsely advertising all along. You just didn't expect to get caught by someone who would notice. Then your manager made the mistake of making it worse by her handling of the situation concerning my altercation with the band's manager on that night. You, your management, and your venue, by the way, are ALL scum. read more

My husband and I went here to see a tribute band. The acoustics are excellent here, everything inside is black, with red seats that allow for great viewing... friendly staff, plenty of free car parking and a cute lil bar.. whereby they bring your drinks to your seat. read more

Liquor- horrendous despite the great service-from the wandering waitresses. Only house brand alcohol- not a single brand name! No scotch or cordials, just watery vodka, and very cheap wine. They did have decent beer choices. This place has potential, but they need to upgrade the liquor choices and comedians. Consumers will pay for quality...and stay away from trash. read more

Was there for Sal "the voice" Valentinetti right before Christmas. One of the best performances I've seen in a long time. Hope he comes back again sometime in the future as long as they bring their own sound guy... Throughout the show Sal was drowned out by the band through the PA System. So much that my family which was there with me even mentioned they were having trouble hearing him. I kept looking back in the sound booth and saw a guy sitting there with his face down in his phone the entire show. He had a helper that was a stagehand running back and forth but had nothing to do with the audio console. Really unfortunate. I would return only based on the talent showing up but second time around I probably would make mention to the management. Hopefully they read this and maybe train the staff a little better to stay off the phone or actually mix the band throughout the performance which is what the job requires. read more

We were at this venue years ago and we were in a larger room. The headliner Peter Fogel was great. The first comedian was painful to watch and the next two were mediocre and the fourth was funny. The room was narrow with no ventilation. Was air conditioning an option? I don't think I will see a comedian again because of the room size and lack of ventilation. read more

I went to a small comedy show. The owner surprisingly talked VERY LoUDLy over the comics while he was standing by them on stage trying to figure out his credit card machine with his waitress girl, who had at least the awareness to try to speak softly back to him. It went on intermittently for abt an hour. Couldn't even hear the comedians jokes it was that bad. THEN the same owner guy went up on stage to perform his own set of standup!!!! I was entirely blown away by the disrespect of it and that I would never want to come back here. I asked 2 different people abt it and it they said the owner guy Randy is notoriously a jerk, and he had to have some sense that he was doing that. Why would a dude blatantly ruin a show people came to at the place that he OWNs?! Huh baffling. Good venue otherwise?! read more

Craig Shoemaker was awesome, too. * A high school friend bought my tickets! * Drink prices are better than FAIR for Boca! Well lit, too. * Visible exterior security so no one drives of with my Zenvo! * No food, so eat at Armadillo Cafe (adjacent) beforehand. * Tickets needed! Apparently a previous tenant had free shows for a 2-drink minimum. No more! Randy tells me that this is more than a comedy club. This is a "black box" where musicians may play, where some improv will occur, and wherein you can rent the venue for special events. Check the website "EVENTS" section. Just perfect. The service was great. And the show was very entertaining. Well worth the money.

Really enjoyable night. We saw Gary Valentine who was hilarious. As were the other 2 comedians. Drinks were "ok" although my $10 margarita left something to be desired. My sister in law liked her red sangria. No food there either except popcorn and maybe some cookies. They did have little plastic cups of bar mix snacks on the vip tables. Not worth the extra money though as to be explained next. The venue is small and cozy and intimate. A great place to be next to the one you love laughing and smiling. Lots of older couples holding hands and being happy. Made me smile and maybe a slight bit jealous. The major complaint is that the "VIP" tables are stupid. Simply put they are not worth the extra money. They are high tops that sit 6 or 8 people but they are along the walls and are further away then the cheaper seats. I love that they have a text your drink order and the friendly servers bring your drinks over to you making vip just seem not that important. Fun night out. read more

I went there to see one of my favorites artists from my teenager years. I bought my ticket and was extremely excited. I was able to persuade a friend to go with me. I was able to call the venue, they worked out our tickets so we sat together. The place is small, but perfect for intimate concerts and more rapport between the artist and the public. When we got there.... Heaven... They have an open bar. How cool is that? Staff extremely nice and even the manager was there... I recommend the venue, can't wait to go again read more

Werenunable to attend a Bobby Collins show. Called and spoke to manager who said she would give us a $126 credit. Called them the next day and they said we did not have any credit. They called us back and said they said they located the credit. Called them back repeatedly to use the credit, they do not answer the phone. Thank you Black Box Boca. It gets better, now they emailed us telling us that they are charging us an additional $20 for general admission tickets. We never authorized this charge or purchase. read more

Great show last night. We caught the 9m show featuring Steve Marshall. Wow- what a great act. He made the show interactive and funny as heck. Just what we needed for a night out. Steve didn't use the stage all night as he kept the small crowd engaged and laughing for the entire set. I also Bobby Slayton at Black Box as well. This place attracts great quality for a small Boca Raton Town. Hopefully people will read this and be reminded we have a great resource that needs community support. Brought a BIG group of people here and had the time of our life! The comedians were great, drinks were stiff, and I can't recommend a better night on the town, especially this gem being in your back yard. Boca should be praising and supporting the Black Box for giving people, especially after a year we had, a place to feel normal and laugh. They have pretty good entertainment here however the seats are pretty uncomfortable, no place to put your drink and I was seated directly behind some guy with a huge head. They should arrange the seats so that your are not directly behind the person in front of you. Also they should think about having the seats installed as the same as in a movie theatre or stadium seating. The liquor here is really crappy and in my opinion either watered down or really weak. Even our waitress told us the liquor is really bad and they have to pour more booze into the drink to compensate for the lack of potency. They are really trying to squeeze every penny out of this place. Also I bought a vodka at the bar and I was charged $13 then I bought a second drink from another bartender and was charged $9. I asked why the difference and she said you must have had a double. I had the same drink both times. read more

I want to see three historical broads on a Saturday night at the 9 o'clock show. The place was 90% packed, and even though the sheets might've been a little on the small side, it was still comfortable. This is a small theater with seating for around 300 people they have a bar the minute you walk in, they also allow you to text your requests, and I'll deliver it to your seat during the show. It's a comfortable little place to see various artists and pretty convenient to get to right next to the turnpike off of Glades Road. The parking is pretty easy, and this is a venue that's not afraid to turn the air conditioner on. The only complaint I would have about this place is the lack of lighting in the area where you sit and wait. It would be nice to see a little more light and possibly a fan to keep you cooled down if you're in Alta Cocker it would fit right in here as 95% of the patrons are 55 and older read more

We decided to check this place out because a tribute band called Doors Alive was performing there. We weren't sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised by both the venue and the band. We had a great time and will definitely be going back. While this is not a large club, it doesn't feel crowded. I'm not sure of the capacity, I'd say about 200. The seating is theater style with pricier table seating on the sides. The ticket prices are very reasonable for, in this case, a decent tribute band. They have a full bar and you can enjoy some snacks. They do not serve food or allow outside food or drink. One nice touch is that you can text drink orders and a server will bring them to you at your seat. The bathrooms are clean as is the entire club. We had front row seats for $35. We've had front row seats before, but we were literally 6 inches from the stage, 3 feet from the keyboard player. Going forward, I will probably book seats further back, but still this was great fun! My stars are only for the show. Good space with great potential but I guess the "owner"/bartender doesn't know his own volume. The entire time all we could hear is him talking loudly undermining his young staff and disrespecting the comedian performing with his overzealous attitude. Heard him straight up tell them "leave me alone". He's sabotaging himself by not letting anyone help him while he drowns at a half full bar. It was honestly disturbing to watch. His employees stood around waiting for their next order while he was drowning because he doesn't have any faith in them clearly. Having the privilage of seeing The Edwards Twins live was an amazing opportunity. It's not everyday you get the chance to witness men dressing as women and belting out song styles of Cher, Celine Dion, Barbara Streisand, and more! They have the unique ability to manipulate their vocal chords and match the artists that I mentioned up to a T. Not a boring vibe in the air after both brothers approached the stage. Truly remarkable talent these siblings have. I recommend this show AND this theatre to everyone who has an interest in the modern arts. They unbelievably defy the restrictions of the Adam's Apple! The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Also, during the show the staff had a very unique way of handling and delivering food/drink orders to you. Atop to the left of the stage, they have a plaque with a phone number you can text regarding your food/beverage order along with your seat number and within minutes, the staff delivers your order to you. They really have it all figured out! It limits the amount of distractions while the play is in session. The staff is ever so friendly. I was craving tomato juice and they didn't carry any legit beverage of the sort. So, what the nice woman behind the counter did was pour me a glass of Daily's Bloody Mary Mix, which I was quite fond of and WILL be buying it next time I go grocery shopping. Beyond friendly staff. Smiling faces, never a negative vibe. What was really facinating about the process of the gender transformation, was that you were able to get a glimpse of how the make-up/removal, sculpting, and wig-applications all come together.
