The scallops were the freshest ones we bought in Tulsa. It was about $15 for six good-sized scallops. We will definitely buy them again. It's still cheaper than eating at a restaurant. The Chilean sea bass was really fresh too, but it was pricey. I wish they descaled it. It was fresh enough that I could steam it for an Asian dish. I also enjoyed their shrimp & lobster bisque and New England chowder. The salmon salad had a lot of salmon, but I didn't like it as much. Can't wait to go back again to get fresh fish. I would probably call beforehand and ask what they have though. read more

A friend recommended Bodean's after we expressed a desire for a crab boil for Father's Day. We intend to go back, just to give them another chance. There are a lot of wonderful sauces, marinades, baked goods, and house-made items that look incredible. However, we weren't in the "market" for those. They were out of snow crab legs, and the king crab was too much---to much to cook, and too much to spend. We did buy some shrimp, which we felt was pricey (along with most of the things we saw), and it turned out amazing. As I said, this place deserves another chance. When we are back in Tulsa, we will visit again. read more

The first thing to remember is...we are a land locked state, so we aren't going to have 1 hour off the boat seafood. This is one of the better places for fresh seafood. They do smell like a fish market, there is nothing you can do about that. Huge variety if fish and seafood, most looks really good. They have prepackaged salads and deli with salads and ceviche. Ceviche is delicious, much easier than making it from scratch, same with the crostini. They have refrigerated specialty meats, variety of breads, spices and supplies for grilling and cooking. read more

30 year customer. This store has become prohibitively expensive. Marginal quality swordfish is now $23.99 a pound. As usual, stay away from their not fresh shellfish (oyster, mussels, crab legs, etc). This business is just a shadow of what it used to be. Clam chowder still excellent. read more

After 15 years of trying to do business with these folks they finally broke me. I'm sorry I'm not the biggest account they have, but there is no reason for the condescending attitude and snide remarks directed to a customer big or small. I'll drive to OKC before I step foot in that market ever again, and to make matters worse there quality of products have seriously declined, it's just a little to fishy smelling in there also ( NOT in a good way) I DO NOT Recommend them to anyone. I just love Bodeans Seafood Market!! Stopped in today after i called & heard they got a fresh new batch of soft shelled crabs to get some for dinner tomorrow night. This guy who works there gave me a hot tip on how to keep them alive & taste even better as well! Some of the reviews of this place were rather frightening and I really didn't know what to expect when I went in to do some valentine's day shopping. My fears were alleviated rather quickly. The place didn't smell like rotting fish and everything looked fresh. One side of the store had a cooled display case with all the fresh fish and seafood. The other side had a cooled display case with prepared foods. There were some other shelves with spices and specialty items. The attention to detail and one on one customer service was great. The attendant informed me what was in, what was priced the best and what he would recommend. When something was out on display he went back to check on what was there. Everything I bought was fresh and could tell that it had just been flown in. In fact, they were working on a whole tuna while I was there. The oysters where still alive and still needed to be cleaned. The scallops didn't have that frozen smell. And the lobster was still alive and kicking when I bought it. Prices were not unreasonable, but it was certainly expensive. I'm not the biggest seafood fan, but should my east coast in laws come visit and need a fix, I know where to go. read more

Are you kidding? I went in Bodean's new location the other day. I was shocked. The market hasn't been there all that long, so why does it smell so strongly of bad fish? I was willing to overlook the foul odor at the other location simply because it had open for so long. This, however, was surprising. The selection was pitiful. They had some stuffed salmon, some Chilean sea bass (which is under the "avoid" section of Monterey Bay Aquarium's Seafood Watch List), some clams and lobster, and one that threw me: fish burgers. It was obviously a mixture of bits of leftover fish. Yuck. I know that Bodean supplies several local restaurants with their seafood, and I know that fish is usually really great. So disappointed. Who likes to throw away money? Stopped in here for some fresh crab legs while I was in town. Only some small frozen snow crab & huge frozen king crab was available so I opted for some peel & eat shrimp along with some already made pâté, lobster bisque & ceviche. Everything tasted like it had been stored too long. Not freezer burned but you know when it's been in the fridge too long, like a stale taste and when I looked at the date every thing I purchased was expired. I was so upset because seafood is not cheap. The shrimp wasn't great either, had the same taste. I will not go back. read more

Bought some scallops today they smelled a little fishy but after they were cooked had the strongest ammonia smell!! Totally inedible and cost a lot of money. The quality control at the market has become so poor. This isn't the first instance of spoiled seafood. Same thing happened with crab legs! I will no longer go there even though it's so convenient. Truly hope they change their ways before someone gets seriously ill. I'll now make the drive to white river fish market for the freshest fish in town! read more

A great local seafood market. I simply cannot eat shrimp cocktail from any other store now...The cocktail shrimp at Bodean's is just so much better. The shrimp are large, clean, fresh and tasty - bonus points if you get their cocktail sauce which is also quite yummy. Just the right amount of horseradish. Their tuna steaks are also high quality - great for sushi or searing. They also have great dips. clam chowder, and a variety of other fresh fish and shellfish with specials each week if you sign up for their e-mail list. We obviously aren't heading out to catch most fish straight out of the sea...in Tulsa, Bodean's market is the next best thing! read more

Normally I have an excellent experience at Bodean's. My purchase on Sept 4th was the exception. My husband wanted a seafood boil including clams for Labor Day. When I called and was advised that Bodean's was no longer open on Sunday and would be closed on Monday I expressed concern buying clams that early. I was assured by the young man that answered the phone that as long as I took them out of the plastic bag, had them in an open container in the fridge under 40 degrees F, they would live. He explained that they got them on Thursday and they were still alive with no problem. I purchased them around 4:30 PM Saturday afternoon. I took them home, took them out of the plastic bag and put them in an open bowl on top of the ice pack Bodean's provided and placed them in my fridge at 37 degrees F. By Sunday morning 6 of the 12 clams were dead. Through out Sunday all but 2 clams died and by Monday morning the last two died. Since I did not know any other place in town where I could purchase clams on Sunday or Monday I was quite disappointed for my husband. It's not just the cost of the clams, but after following the information the salesman provided when I called I was disappointed for my husband that he didn't the desired clams in his boil. My advised to the Bodean's staff is not to promise/sell items that are likely to die. We also miss shopping there on Sunday. read more

If you are in Tulsa craving seafood this is the place to go. Very nice upscale seafood restaurant with impeccable service and unbelievably fresh and expertly prepared seafood with the flare of creativity. No boring or mundane dishes here. I had the Norwegian salmon on a seafood risotto and it was fabulous. I don't think there is a better choice in town. read more
