Tried their $5 Wednesday special at Mother Road Market. You order at a kiosk which made it very easy, and you can customize your order if needed. The special is their fried chicken sandwich... a nice sized breast with shredded lettuce, tomato, mayo, and hot sauce on a bun. The chicken was a just a tad overcooked and the bun a touch stale... but lettuce and tomato were fresh and it still came together nicely. This place was popping. You have to order from a kiosk so be prepared for the slowness. I'm from Louisiana so I wasn't sure what to expect especially in Oklahoma. My friend got the gumbo and I was not a fan. It tasted too much like soup and gumbo is not soup despite rumors. We both had the catfish and chicken, and the catfish was pretty good, Except they didn't give you lemons for free. It came as a "sauce" which was so odd. I didn't realize that until after I already sat down and the little lady was so busy at the front that I couldn't stop and get lemons. You also had to order from a kiosk which had a line so that was really inconvenient. $20 for each of our meals, and the gumbo was like $15 or $16 which was kind of expensive. For two entrées, gumbo, two drinks, it was $75! Definitely not worth it. We wanted to go to the mother Road market for the experience, so the vibe is definitely cool. read more

I have had Le Roux's on various occasions but this was the first time we came for the $5 meal on Wednesdays at Mother Road Market. My wife and I popped up with gift cards and we went to town on the food. For $5 we both got the fish fried hard and some mac and cheese. The meal was filling and of COURSE it had plenty of flavor so the experience was great. It took the food no time to come out and the service is very personable as they whip it all up in front of you so it's fresh. My family and I stopped in to the Mother Road food court for dinner and opted to sample a few small bites from various vendors. Le Roux's was my last pick of the night and I'm glad my stomach was able to fit a few more bites because the Mac 'n Cheese was DELICIOUS! It was hot and fresh and definitely had a Cajun kick to it. Even my 8 month old daughter loved a bite. Be prepared to wait a bit as the food is fresh, but there's plenty to browse in the area while you wait. I would definitely recommend to others! read more

Flavorrrr! I got the fish basket, Mac and cheese, and (not pictured) the Lagniappe fries, soooo good! I also had the Honey Jalapeño sauce *chefs kiss* The fries were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, I didn't expect them to be so good honestly. Overall, nice experience. I am not so sure about some of the prices of their entrees: $18 for mixed gumbo or basket and $15 for 3 proteins Mac n' Cheese. I passed on all those items. Instead, I got the honey jalapeño chicken basket for $12. The fried chicken tenders were good. I liked them better with hot sauce than the honey that came with it, although this may be a preference thing. I am not entirely sure about their potato wedges either. They were just too thick and tasted like mushy mashed potatoes on the inside. Can we just have fries please or even better waffles? The service wasn't really all there but it was set up to be that way. You order electronically at the que and pick up your order when it's ready. This seemed to be a busy diner at MRM, one of the more popular eateries in that food hall. Sad Oklahoma Joe's is no longer there though. read more

We haven't had the chance to get LeRoux's before this and greatly enjoyed their honey jalepeno chicken basket. The potatoes were crispy on the outside, but soft like a good wedge in the inside. The seasoning was also second to none! These were great on their own or dipped in their ranch or honey mustard dressing. The chicken was crispy, delicious, and came with an awesome honey jalapeño sauce covering each bite. I really enjoyed this and liked that it wasn't too spicy or sweet! From cooking + serving out of the household to doing pop-up kitchens to doing the Takeover Kitchen AT Mother Road to officially having their own spot at the very same place. The recipes stayed original, if not better. I went with the Vegan Gumbo & when I tell you anything vegan by Le Roux's was highly requested for as long as they've been trying to get their official spot, it all paid off from when it finally happened. Oyster Mushrooms in the mix, the roux was flavorful to the point I didn't even add hot sauce (I'm quick to add hot sauce to anything Cajun no matter what). Also, they're about to be even more vegan friendly so that's gonna make selections easier for me as I try to let up on certain eating habits. Pros: I typically don't like gumbo. It's my mom's favorite soup, and I've been eating it from various restaurants, my whole life. And I don't like it. But this one's really good. Cons: the price? is $18 for a gumbo expensive? Gumbo came with crab meat, but what we found in it was just almost a whole club claw cluster. I had to take it home and extract meat. Catfish and chicken was too salty with almost too much of a certain seasoning and therefore did not provide a balanced flavour. Jalapeño honey sauce was okay but too sweet. After a few bites it was enough to throw in the trash. The reason that this review is saved with a four instead of a one is the seafood gumbo. The seafood gumbo had excellent flavour, balanced seasoning and will keep you wanting more. They chop a crab in half and throw it in with all the meats that you'd expect. Hot sauce packets had Red 40 in it and the crackers had artificial ingredients (the type that has a paragraph full of ingredients). Both went into the trash as well. Again the seafood gumbo saved this review as it is THAT GOOD. Heals the soul and I definitely will be recommending more people to try it. read more

Simple and basic, yet oh so complex to the palate, this gumbo is like a big warm hug to the soul. LeRoux's Kitchen is just getting started at MRM and if their chicken and sausage gumbo is any indication they are on their way up the success ladder. Missed them the 1st time they were there but I managed to hit them up 2day. Had 4 selections of gumbo so as a first timer I went with the chicken and sausage gumbo to get a feel for the chef. James LOVES his Louisiana gumbo and brother I'm here to tell u this is the real deal. The best cajun food comes from the little towns in between the cities and along the coast. Their food tastes like that. Spicy but not too, and very flavourful. Chef asked me if I ever tasted a hug, and told me if I didn't get that from the gumbo then bring it back for a refund. Was even comped a piece of their old fashioned cajun cake (which is NOT King cake by the way). 2moro they have etouffee which I will be trying, so I hope I have found my solution for when I'm jonesin' for cajun food!
