Shrimp gumbo and honey jalapeno cornbread le roux kitchen mother road Market Tulsa Oklahoma
    Krupa H.

I checked out this new spot in mother road market food hall because I was craving something spicy and le roux's kitchen certainly delivered on the flavor. The sweet young lady behind the counter recommended the shrimp gumbo and the honey jalapeno cornbread. It was a little bit pricey for a soup, however, it was so hearty and meaty that I think you get your money's worth.

I have had Le Roux's on various occasions but this was the first time we came for the $5 meal on Wednesdays at Mother Road Market. My wife and I popped up with gift cards and we went to town on the food. For $5 we both got the fish fried hard and some mac and cheese. The meal was filling and of COURSE it had plenty of flavor so the experience was great. It took the food no time to come out and the service is very personable as they whip it all up in front of you so it's fresh. I've never had a bad experience visiting them and the menu is full of tasty entrees and sides. Pay them a visit!

Flavorrrr! I got the fish basket, Mac and cheese, and (not pictured) the Lagniappe fries, soooo good! I also had the Honey Jalapeño sauce *chefs kiss* The fries were crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, I didn't expect them to be so good honestly. Overall, nice experience. The people that run it were very inviting and helpful when it came to choosing what to eat.

I am not so sure about some of the prices of their entrees: $18 for mixed gumbo or basket and $15 for 3 proteins Mac n' Cheese. I passed on all those items. Instead, I got the honey jalapeño chicken basket for $12. The fried chicken tenders were good. I liked them better with hot sauce than the honey that came with it, although this may be a preference thing. I am not entirely sure about their potato wedges either. They were just too thick and tasted like mushy mashed potatoes on the inside. Can we just have fries please or even better waffles? The service wasn't really all there but it was set up to be that way. You order electronically at the que and pick up your order when it's ready. This seemed to be a busy diner at MRM, one of the more popular eateries in that food hall. Sad Oklahoma Joe's is no longer there though.

"Laissez les bons temps rouler" Fun times!! Stopped in for the vegan gumbo but it wasn't on the menu so I decided on the Fish and Vegan greens :) threw in the Jalapeno Cornbread!! The Mother Road shop is busy but I got my food rather quickly...Fish was fried nicely and crispy...I was surprised the cornbread had bits of jalapeno. WoWzers!!

We haven't had the chance to get LeRoux's before this and greatly enjoyed their honey jalepeno chicken basket. The potatoes were crispy on the outside, but soft like a good wedge in the inside. The seasoning was also second to none! These were great on their own or dipped in their ranch or honey mustard dressing. The chicken was crispy, delicious, and came with an awesome honey jalapeño sauce covering each bite. I really enjoyed this and liked that it wasn't too spicy or sweet! For all the food you see, this order was only $12, which felt like a great deal!

The journey of Le Roux's Kitchen was definitely a slow burn. From cooking + serving out of the household to doing pop-up kitchens to doing the Takeover Kitchen AT Mother Road to officially having their own spot at the very same place. The recipes stayed original, if not better. I went with the Vegan Gumbo & when I tell you anything vegan by Le Roux's was highly requested for as long as they've been trying to get their official spot, it all paid off from when it finally happened. Oyster Mushrooms in the mix, the roux was flavorful to the point I didn't even add hot sauce (I'm quick to add hot sauce to anything Cajun no matter what). Also, they're about to be even more vegan friendly so that's gonna make selections easier for me as I try to let up on certain eating habits. From all of the stages Le Roux's Kitchen went through, all good things are coming to them deservingly. Family operated. Made fresh.

Just what I needed today. Got one of their $8 specials (not sure if exclusive to being at mother road market); 1 piece fish + 6oz mac. And they were so kind to add a second piece of fish on the house when the wait got long. Fish was super fresh, juicy, and flavorful. I really loved that cajun mac!! Overall would love to try some more things on their menu

    Shrimp, chicken, and sausage gumbo

I was pleasantly surprised by how good their gumbo is! It's loaded with sausage, chicken, and shrimp... seasoned perfectly, spicy but not crazy hot, great flavors. Their chicken tenders and fries are delicious.... Their fries are different but in a really good way. They're more like potato wedges but that Cajun seasoning is sooo good! I love this place at the Mother Road Market!

A nice spot to pick up a cup of gumbo. The had chicken, sausage, and crab. If you want there is the special with all 3 meats.

Not a lot of places have suadero (thin cut of beef) as a meat, so that's a great option. Their horchata is pretty good too. I ordered my food to go and waited inside Brice's coffee. However, they do have some covered sitting available. I believe the idea is to make the spot into a food truck park (there's already a burger truck and soon there'll be a ramen one).

The best baloney sandwich I've ever had was what my grandmother used to make---thick slices of baloney (the kind with the red film around the edge) on white bread slathered with mayo. I remember laughing when I read the name Baloney Maroney's on a sticker. I asked a local if it was a real place. He said yeah, not only is it a real place, it's just up the block on the other side of the street. So, of course I had to check it out. Now, this place specializes in Smoked Bologna Sandwiches, and they have like five different versions on the Menu. I had no idea what to order. I told the guy at the ordering window I had never had a Smoked Bologna Sandwich before and asked for his recommendation. Without any hesitation he told me to get The Tulsa. "The Tulsa?" I asked as I quickly glanced at the menu trying to find out what else besides smoked bologna was on the sandwich. "Yes", he answered. "The Tulsa. It's Perfect." When he handed me my sandwich five minutes later I discovered he wasn't lying. That sandwich was perfect. Magnificent in its simplicity, this sandwich far exceeded my loftiest expectations. I particularly love that it's made with a good quality, toasted white bread. The lettuce and tomato are the perfect balance to the bologna. And let me tell you, that smoked bologna is Freaking Epic. I appreciate that it was smoky, but not overly smoky. I also appreciate that there was a good portion of meat on the sandwich. My only regret is I only ordered one sandwich. My visit was just before the place closed for the day. By the time I finished my sandwich and realized I wanted another one, they were closed. For god's sake, don't let this happen to you! Be smart, order yourself an extra sandwich. Even if you don't think you can eat another sandwich, get one anyway. You won't be sorry. That sandwich was the best sandwich I had in the first quarter of 2026, and is now in the running for my personal Sandwich of The Year. Mikey C says: thank you, Baloney Maroney!
