Great everyday spot in Brookside for a casual breakfast or lunch. I'd rate the food 3.5 stars. It's standard fare, although well prepared. The decor is cute, just a touch eclectic, making the atmosphere feel relaxed and inviting. Order at the counter then find a seat in the dining room or patio and they will bring the food out to your table. I really enjoy their outdoor patio. It's a lovely place to catch up with friends over food and drinks when the weather is nice. It is shaded and there are a couple of heaters for cooler days. As for the food, I thought the chicken sandwich was very tasty and prepared well. I've also tried the breakfast quiche, club sandwich, and quinoa salad. All were good, about what you'd expect. The breakfast plates are next on my list for a return visit, especially the omelettes. One thing to note is it does get busy at times. I've been there for lunch during the week a few times and it was surprisingly busy for a weekday. Even so, there is enough seating that I've never had to wait for a table. Street parking on Peoria can be a challenge, however there is a parking lot in the back and it usually isn't difficult to find an open spot. All in all, Blue Moon Cafe offers a great atmosphere and consistent quality that I will be returning for regularly. read more

Blue moon on Brookside made for a great Sunday morning breakfast. We both opted for the oatmeal which was a great choice and it came with toast so who can go wrong with that lol! I added berries and banana to mind instead of the raisins which I recommend doing. My friend got sausage patties which she really enjoyed. I stumbled upon this place while on a short visit to Tulsa with friends and I must say we loved it! Nestled in a cute, hipster neighborhood it was all that we needed on a beautiful spring day! When my table of 8 arrived, we were promptly made aware of seating either outside or in. The inside was very cozy and consisted of cool, cultured images and art. But of course we chose outside in order to soak up the sun. And while we waited, we were advised to help ourselves coffee or tea. The menu was just the right balance of items that can cater to all dietary needs. This was perfect for my group because we consisted of meat eaters, some time low carbers and vegans lol! The food was great; from the Bodega to the pancakes to the French toast to the smoked salmon to the veggie burger and vegetarian omelette! And let's not forget the carafes of bubbly with accompanying grapefruit, orange, pineapple and cranberry juices! And talk about service! We felt welcomed and accommodated. This little spot is as good as it gets! The variety of menu items is vast and I love the number of specials every wekend.All the food is homemade and amazing. The cinnamon Rolls in the case and the 9:30 Casserole off the specialty menu are my favorites. The 9:30 Casserole needs to be on the regular menu as it is sold out after a few hours everytime its offered. I especially love the italian coffee as it is different than you'll find anywhere else. The staff is always nice and friendly and interior is nice with several unique collectibles. For those warm days they have a nice patio out front. Any refills you need you're not tied down waiting on a waitstaff. Food came out in a decent amount of time, not too long not too quick. We got the Chilaquiles which were a special and the Blue plate special. The chilaquiles were pretty spicy but had amazing flavor. The potatoes were well seasoned and bacon was perfectly cooked. i ordered from the faves section of the menu. i can definitely see why it's a favorite, the tremendous nachos. one of the employees suggested that the half order can do enough, good thing i took her word for it. i was curious on how they're prepped: a pile/layer of chips with the fixings or chips separately topped with the fixings. it was the first way, still did it's job. the cheddar, feta, black beans, green chilies, lettuce, green onions & (phenomenal) lime sauce all went well together. the half order definitely did its job. it was just to enough to take care of my hunger for a few hours as i was on the move. i should've asked for more lime sauce, it was SO good! the food didn't take long to come out & the price was $7. their menu is pretty wide. they also serve breakfast, which i'll have to come back to give a try. a lot of coffee seletions along with cocktails. they pretty much have everything covered. they have nice outdoor seating. it gives you a good sighting of brookside's surroundings. read more
