My wife and I visited this location on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch. We were very warmly greeted by a friendly staff member. We chose our seats and got our order put in promptly. The waiter brought us out complimentary Miso Soup, which I'm thankful he did. I don't know that I have ever ordered miso soup, but after tasting this delicious rendition, I will probably order it each visit. Give it a try! We also got the fried tempura veggie appetizer, which is another must try. It was super light, crispy and tasty served with a sweet dipping sauce. For my entree, I couldn't decide on one thing, so I went with the lunch bento box. It was a great price and offered a variety of tasty bites: tereyaki salmon, dumplings, sesame chicken and a Philly roll. The gentleman that was working the counter and dining area was very friendly and gave us complimentary cups of miso soup before our appetizer came out. Speaking of, we ordered the Vegetable Tempura for an app. Everything tasted great with minimal oiliness. For my entree I ordered the Pad Thai Noodles with fried tofu. Everything was great and not spicy, but you could probably ask for some heat of that's your thing. Overall a great experience and we will definitely be back. We have been driving by this restaurant saying, "We need to try this place sometime ." Well, today was the day. This small family owned restaurant is clean and has a pleasant atmosphere appears to be a family owned restaurant. The diverse menu offers something everyone can enjoy. In addition to an extensive sushi menu, they have all the noodle, rice, curry, and bento box dishes you find at most Asian restaurants. Something I really like is they have lunch portions and dinner portions on the same menu. You can get reduced portions for a lower price on most dishes. It's my understanding you can order the smaller portion at any time. The price of lunch portions is about the same as most local restaurants. Most lunches are $11 or $12. Sushi rolls run between $8 to $16. You can get just one piece of nigiri st Siam. Its 2 pieces per order most places. This gives you a chance for more variety. Dan got the lunch bento box #1, which is a small piece of salmon in Teriyaki sauce, sesame chicken, dumplings, and 4 pieces of California roll with pink ginger slices. Pink ginger is a lower quality than white ginger. Dan said it was good but not wonderful. I got Pad Thai. Some reviewers said the Pad Thai was the best they've ever had. Maybe it's a matter of taste, but I disagree. I thought the noodles were a little over cooked and the sauce lacked flavor. Perhaps the noodles were just cooked more that day than usual or maybe it's like spaghetti, some people like their spaghetti Aldante and others like them cooked enough that the sauce cooks into the noodles. Some people also like mild flavors. I like my Pad Thai with firmer noodles and a stronger flavored sauce. Miso soup came with both lunches and was quite good. The hot soup was welcomed on a hot day. In summary, this cozy little family run restaurant is very welcoming. The food is good but not outstanding. Prices are comparable to other similar restaurants and lower than some. It has potential. I would suggest offering choices in the doneness of the noodles and the amount of heat in the sauce. read more

I am confused. When I hear the name "Sian" I don't associate it with Japanese. Yet the bulk of the menu is Japanese food. When asked the server what people typically get, she said sushi or poke bowl. It doesn't seem like the curry or noodle are the popular items but they have them on the menu if you want to break the norm and try. I went with the recommendations and got the spicy tuna and spicy salmon roll along with the yellowtail jalapeño bomb. The yellowtail jalapeño bomb is basically 6 pieces of yellowtail sashimi on top of lettuce, a salad arranged differently. It was good but not the best salad I've had. The spicy tuna roll and the spicy salmon roll were better than expected. I think my expectation was not too high coming in. The place is small inside but looks even smaller from the outside. I wasn't even sure if I should come in. I am not sure what this restaurant really specializes in but it looks like sushi. However, the name just confuses the heck out of me. Is it 5 stars? Nope! Okay, YUM. The sushi here is delicious! It's a small hole in the wall restaurant. We sat down and waited about 10 minutes before someone came by to take our drink order. We waited another 10 minutes until they brought us our waters. It gave us plenty of time to look over the menu. My husband and I ordered the beef spicy flat noodles (not pictured), JB roll and firecracker roll. My friends ordered sashimi, eating Nemo roll, sashimi, veggie roll, and the heavenly veggie roll (not pictured). The fish looked and tasted fresh. We ordered a beef lo mein, and another dish that I can't remember. It had beef, vegetables, etc., dumplings and a sushi roll for me. Overall, the food was good, but not especially memorable. I'd read reviews about how great the sushi was, as well as other dishes, but honestly, I didn't find anything that would drag me back in. The sushi was good, but unremarkable, while the lo mein was fairly flavorful, if not over sauced, which is a common problem. As said, it was good, just not memorable. Digging around on the internet last night and stumbled upon Sian Restaurant. It had excellent reviews. I knew exactly where it was. I have driven by many times, but blew it off because it was a sushi bar. I just don't eat a lot of sushi. From the outside appearance I was expecting a dumpy little crowded hole in the wall restaurant. A picture of the interior surprised me. It looked larger and nicer than what I had thought it could be. That got my interest, so I checked the menu. Sian Restaurant has more than sushi. I liked the restaurant as soon as we stepped in the door. The friendly waiter greeted us and took our drink order and I ordered the vegetable tempura appetizer. If you eat here this is a must. Zucchini, potato, carrot slices, green beans, and onion rings. All very fresh. Perfectly, lightly tempura battered and fried. Excellent. There were a couple of guys a few tables over that overheard my wife and I discussing the menu; trying to land on a selection for lunch. One of the guys spoke up, offering an unsolicited recommendation. "This is the best sushi in Tulsa and I recommend the Heaven Roll if this is your first visit." "It is the best ", he proclaimed. I thanked him for the advice. Our choice was the Pad Thai Noodles with fried tofu, and the Spicy Chicken Basil (Kra Pao). I think the staff here consists of the waiter and the owner (Chef). The owner /chef delivered the food to the table. The waiter, who was dressed like a professional sushi chef, also handles the sushi bar. Being minimally, staffed the service could be a little slow when the restaurant is busy. Be patient. It is worth it. My wife rated the Pad Thai as the best she has had. The outstanding feature besides the excellent taste, was the perfectly fried tofu. I had to taste of it and it was very good. My Spicy Chicken Basil was a comparable outstanding plate of food. Discussing the restaurant on the way home, my wife and I had come to the same conclusion. Sian Restaurant is our new favorite Asian restaurant. It is at the top of our list. Our rangoons and gyoza came out next- the rangoons are crab heavy and served in long, thin, crispy spears. They were different than most places around here serve, but I really enjoyed them. The gyoza wasn't my favorite, but my husband loved them. They were crispy and warm- just not my top pick. The Yummy roll was excellent! The gyoza were delicious, with juicy flavorful filling and crispy outside. I've had gyoza elsewhere where the wrapper was over cooked and hard to bite, and when these came out the look of them made me worry they might be like that, but the texture was perfect. And the dipping sauce was a little spice and incredibly yummy! Our waitress was nice and helpful. The restaurant itself was clean and simple.
