The albondigas are a must. They were absolutely amazing. We also enjoyed the anchovies. I am not an anchovy fan and would never order it in a restaurant. However, we came here as part of a food tour and the guide told us this is something we should all try. The guide was right, The anchovies were excellent. This is a great family run restaurant directly across the street from the Botin, the world's oldest restaurant. During our recent trip to Madird we had dinner at both Botin and Bodegas Ricla. On a return trip I would skip Botin and go to Bodega Ricla. The quality of the food was much better and at a fraction of the cost.

Best callos around and also one of the few places in this area that is not a tourist trap. Go here for Vermouth on tap and great tapas.

Was impossible to have just one as a party broke out Friday afternoon well into the evening. Amazing place to get your Jerez on!

The blue cheese cider mix on bread was gorgeous and the vermouth was lovely.

This is a veryyyy small cafe/breakfast spot. Make sure to get reservations or go at a not busy time…read morein order to get a seat. There were probably only 20 or so in the whole place. What I ordered: I got the toast with tomato spread, a cappuccino, and the chocolate cake. For the toast, they have two vintage toasters sitting on the main table so you can toast it yourself. This is cute, until you aren't the one at the main table so you have to reach over other people to toast your breakfast. The cake was a perfect amount of density and moisture; although, I would probably get a different flavor if I could do it over. A lot of people do chocolate cake a lot better than this. I do appreciate that they have all the cakes on a table and cut it right in front of you. Would I go back to this place? Honestly no because my experience wasn't overwhelmingly great and I think I could do better at other cafes nearby, but the quality of food here is simply top-notch.

Be sure to make a reservation because the restaurant is quaint--besides a communal table that seats around ten, I think I only saw a small bar space and two individual tables. The decor is modern, simple yet funky and homey, and the tables in front of the windows are beautiful! The menu includes several options where you can pick the number of side dishes and entree, so you can completely design your meal around your appetite. The ingredients tasted super fresh, and we especially loved the salads we tried! My friend was a little disappointed that his ceviche portion was so small, but it tasted great, and I loved the Asian-inspired chicken. Service was also pretty good, by Madrid standards. On my next visit to Madrid, I will be back to try the breakfast and baked goods :)
