This is enhanced by the friendly small group setting, meaning that you receive so much more instruction (and assists!) in a single class than otherwise. Tamara also has this fantastic ability to work with specific needs (e.g. my hip replacement) and to weave appropriate progressions into the classes during the week, then week over week. I have seen tremendous growth in my Yoga practice as a direct result. It is special. She will make _you_ feel special. The Yoga class is for up to six people, not heated and for all ability levels. You get out what you put in, both physically and mentally. I enjoyed it so much that I'm now also enthusiastically on a Pilates journey and recompiling my body's algorithms with how to move properly. I drive over 20 minutes to get to this location but it's absolutely worth it. The location is surrounded by some excellent eating and libations in Clifton, should you wish to reward your magnificence afterwards. You're worth it.

Robin thoroughly went through each part of the Reformer including the Tower and Chair. She showed the "works" a Reformer with Trapeze Tower. Robin executed the perfect INTRO Pilates class. From toes, arches, heels, legs to quads, core, shoulders, head, breathwork, jumps on a jump board, balancing on the Reformer Box, twists and stretches were practiced all while watching the sunrise. The studio is warm and inviting, equipped with 8-9 Reformers, floor to ceiling glass windows on one side and located on the 2nd floor inside VIDA Reston. This isn't just exercise, this is schooling in muscle structure, strength and in class explanation and direction of how each "Pilates move" is performed, specific muscles targeted and why they are important. Classes are small allowing the instructor to correct form and encourage each of us; so we get the most for our effort. I have found that every one of the instructors know what they are doing and do an excellent job of making sure students use the correct form.

SCHEDULING The RTR app is user-friendly and easy to navigate, allowing you to track both completed and upcoming classes. You can book classes weeks in advance at any RTR location, not just Vienna. Currently, early morning classes at 6:15 a.m. are only offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. As an early riser, I'm excited to see more early morning options as the studio expands! In October I asked them again to stop charging me and to refund the charges. They told me they could not do so and then had the audacity to charge me again in November!!! From Jason's modifications in exercises when needed to his flexibility in modifying days when I'm unable to work on what was planned, I can't recommend Foundation Fitness enough. My friend and I recently attended a Reformer 1/2 class with Nancy Bright and left feeling humiliated and embarrassed. She was aggressive and dismissive, especially toward students unfamiliar with classical pilates, but familiar with contemporary pilates, which she deems as "not real pilates." Instructions were not explained, and solely used terminology. When we didn't immediately understand, she scolded us, showed frustration, and PHYSICALLY FORCED our bodies into the positions she wanted. These positions were often uncomfortable and borderline painful, with no attempts or offers of modifications. She even made a remark that she knew she was "manhandling" us. Egregiously, when she was unhappy with my plank and was frustrated, I did not understand how she wanted me to fix it, she SLAPPED MY BUTT REPEATEDLY and repeated what she wanted me to do as if that would suddenly make me understand. She even admitted to slapping previous students' butts to "get their attention." As someone new to Pilates, I felt unsafe, embarrassed, and extremely humiliated. I had high expectations based on positive reviews, but this experience has left me so unsettled that I will not be returning.
