We got there at 10am on a Friday morning and it was nice and quiet and not busy until about 11/11:30am. We took 2 hours to help our kids paint 2 items each. My son (5) and daughter (9) both enjoyed their visit! The inside is kept nice, organized and clean. The ladies working today were wonderful! *Prices are a bit high in my opinion. For 1 Small/Medium item, 2 Small items and 1 Mini item we paid $112.36 (with tax), but I know the business has to be able to make a profit as well. We will be back, and we'll probably just paint 2 small items next visit so that it's more affordable for a fun craft outing. Thank you A Way with Clay! Every thing we experienced is in other's reviews and apparently the manager and owner just offer excuses. SO BUMMED that with their great location on the Plaza, they ended up being unprofessional, rude, overpriced and not kid-friendly! The overall vibe is dry, creepy and uncomfortable-No A/C and the staff are extremely rude, awkward and should not be working with customers. They don't explain where the restrooms are and were not helpful when we needed extra supplies. The young teen boy working the desk watched my 6 year old like a hawk and would rush to the table and tell him to not use so much paint anytime he squeezed literally ONE extra drop of paint in his tray than he thought he should. You never reprimand a child, that is the parent's job. And absolutely inappropriate when the child isn't doing anything wrong! I have never felt so nickel and dimed over literally a SQUEEZE of paint, especially when paying $25 for small items? Very unprofessional and the worker continued to do so after I asked him not to and addressed he was not using too much paint as we were sharing the colors. My son accidentally knocked into a shelf (which is easy to do, there is no walking room everything is stuffed in super tight and uncomfortably) and the manager let out a huge sigh and rolled her eyes. I immediately told her that her behavior was inappropriate and he did nothing wrong, however he was already shamed by her and got upset and embarrassed. I asked to speak to the manager which happened to be the same woman and I told her how unimpressed I was with our service and treatment. She offered no apology and burst into tears and said her grandparents are dying and she literally ran to the bathroom and slammed the door shut and never left the entire time we were there (another 30 minutes). No resolution of any kind was offered - she literally hid from us! So I paid my $70(!) ticket and got the owner's contact information, however, based on other reviews, I doubt it will help!

Only a dab of paint in the circle- which is understandable as Dawn just paid for all our paint. went to paint ceramics with my mother and daughter and the owner of fire and ice screamed at my daughter and expected me to allow her to correct my daughter with negativity and hatred. I don't believe that anybody should own a paint store that cannot handle children. I felt very uncomfortable as Dawn was very unprofessional and her approach to handle a six-year-old. There are just some people that should never be around children because they're abusive verbally and I can see that very clearly with this woman. Having the audacity to tell me that I'm a bad mother was not a smack in the face because I know who I am.. I know where I'm going.. and I know what I stand for.. I won't allow anyone to abuse my child especially some ragged worn out women. Thank I hope your satisfaction in screaming at me was worth it Dawn because your still loved by Jesus! There are easy projects and harder ones. The easy ones are trays and coasters, or little dishes. Medium are dogs, horses, etc. Harder are lazy Susans, 3D objects, etc. I think it can take one hour, or 3+ for the harder ones (if you are particular!) They also have wood painting for smaller kids who you want to bring along but don't trust handling glass!

I stumbled into Happy Hour Homemaker by chance on a Wednesday. They share a space with Rocky Mountain Balloons (Three women owners - what what!!). The front of her shop has a nice array of local gifts to buy. Some are sourced from other makers, a lot are made by her. They are often her tutorial piece from a class that she has taught. The bulk of what Happy Hour Homemaker does is custom works or DIY classes. She teaches guests how to create their own signs. Be it for your own business, your home, your office, as a gift - - there are so many possibilities. You can do an individual appointment or have her host a party (some day - when we're allowed to gather again). She also does DIY gift packs. She creates the beautiful wood pieces and sends you home with signs, paint, brushes and instructions. When I was there, she was working on some really cute Christmas kits. I believe she also has a vinyl printer and can print a custom sticker for your sign (but double check with the business)
