I liked the class and the sense of community, however it is not traditional yoga or tai chi and I was unavle to continue after the first month due to an umblilical hernia. I have repeatedly asked them to cancel my membership and for three months now they have repeatly ignored more and keep billing my credit card so far to the tune of $660. I have been practicing at Body &Brain for two years. At 63 I was starting to experience some health challenges. At the recommendation of a family member I tried a class and was immediately sold that this was the place. Since beginning I now have normal blood pressure and I have not needed a rescue inhaler for asthma in almost two years. Now at 65 I am significantly stronger my flexibility is back to when I was in my 30's. Through Body and Brain I have taken workshops that have helped me manage my stress and I am living a much more intentional life. On the journey to better health I felt that having the proper mind set would help first off. I currently love yoga and how it makes me feel, but I believe that there is something missing. I found this business with the wonderful aid of a friends advice who is a regular customer at the classes. I am not looking to attend classes on a regular basis but they offer individual specialized sessions for clients to help them find balance and harmony in life. I feel with the proper knowledge of breathing techniques I will continue the process and incorporate it into my own fitness regimen. The teacher that did the check up for me was a wonderful human being so full of knowledge. With the initial consultation that they offer here for only $29 it is such a fabulous deal. I learned how and how not too breath during yoga. My breathing needed improvement during my yoga stretches. I learned from the consultation that the yoga is not effective without the proper breathing.I now have the proper methods to ensure my breathing will aid me during yoga. I was given direction on the proper body posture during the poses I am doing too to ensure the maximum effects. Chakra balance is something all new to me and something that interests me. The balance of the bodies chakra alignment can be used as per the advisement of the teacher to help regulate the bodies energies. It can be harmful if done I correctly. The exam teacher was highly knowledgeable about balance and completing harmony within the body and ones life. I will revisit but currently have so much input and information that I will incorporate it into my life and try to achieve some balance and harmony union between the mind and body which will hopefully transfer to a daily life regimen and become a norm. read more

I had experienced a lot of positive changes in me that when I decided to become an instructor from a casino employee - was a "no brainer". I come to this center once a week to teach classes on Tuesdays & as soon as I step into, I can feel so light & the energy is so bright. The members here are really focus on making themselves healthier not just physically but most importantly, emotionally & mentally. I can feel that we are all here to really help one another. Dahn Yoga is back and doing well in a smaller capacity and a little warmer with doors open. It was closed for this pandemic and reopened now with precautions, sanitizing hands taking temperature and wearing masks. The mask part take a little getting use to. I noticed what I lost while it was closed and so glad it has open even with the changes. I can feel the pain of getting back to bending and stretching freely and for a more mature person I really appreciate this plus helping my bodies immune system something I am sure we can all use at this time. While they were shut down for the virus they started online classes but I prefer going in and sweating it out with a good bunch of people. The instructors here are so nice and helpful but I'm looking for indian yoga with certain poses. I felt really good after the class but I'm going to find another place with pose yoga. Update: After trying a few other pose based yoga places I couldn't find a place that matched the feeling I had after the class here.....So I'm back. I showed up a few minutes late to students lightly slapping their bodies from head to toe. The instructor reminded everyone, "Don't miss the feet." We all patted our feet. I wondered what slapping has to do with yoga. As the class progressed, more questions came to mind, such as: why are we punching our stomachs, tapping our chests, drinking tea in a circle, and having a confessional? What happened to down dog and sun salutations? This is not yoga. Inside the exercise room it smells like Bengay, which is nice. The lights are not as bright as at Bikram and the floor is soft plastic. The music is calm, relaxing. A nice environment. A banner hung in the front of the room read, "3 Principles for Brain Operating System," and offered tips like, "Wake Up and Pay Attention" and "Positive Thoughts create Good Mind." Odd. I was more distracted by another sign titled, "Level Enhancement System." We continued the exercises that included pelvic thrusts while punching our lower abdomen, twisting, leaning left to right. For a few minutes we did "back healing" where we paired up. I bent over while my buddy pounded my back then scratched it, then rubbed it in a circle, slapped me and said, "I love you!" I did the same for her. The instructor asked if we could feel the vibrations. The class concluded with clapping, jumping jacks and shouting, "YES!" Then we were invited to sit in a circle and share tea and feelings. That's when I asked if there are ever any yoga moves. Not really, but all classes are different. One is for brain stuff, one for weight loss, one for flexibility. People talked about being healed of headaches and heartaches. My one session cost $19. I was encouraged to do an evaluation, which is how everyone is encouraged to start, according to the brochure. For $29, an instructor will complete an evaluation of your flexibility, intestines, organs, emotions, etc. Huh? read more

I don't feel the previous review gave this place a fair shake. Yes, the yoga class is different than other yoga classes I've taken but not necessarily in a bad way. The body slapping technique feels very tribal, for lack of a better term. There are also times during the class where people get vocal. Being such an introvert, this goes well beyond my comfort zone which is great! I need that. By the end of class my body feels like it actually DID something, also great. Tea is offered at the end of class and is totally optional. I've never stayed for the tea so I can't really comment on it but I am certainly not offended by the idea. In fact, it sounds kinda nice. Other classes are offered besides yoga. There is a Brain Wave Vibration class which I know would not be up my alley but there is also TaiChi which I would definitely be into trying. Bottom line: Keep an open mind. Know yourself. Feed your interests. read more

I have gone to three of the four classes they offer, and it is not typical yoga it is MUCH more, they help you let go of things that are weighing on you mind. I went in the day prior and signed up for the initial evaluation session. Instead of $29.00, I only had to pay $20.00 as they had a special. I was also told by a gentleman that when you buy a package for classes, the average class is only about $13.00. I thought...Ok, great. The next day, I went in for the session. The woman was very nice. She spoke of energies, emotions, stress... pretty much what an Eastern medicine provider would also do. After the hour long session, where she mainly palpated and rubbed my abdomen to 'help release tension' (it did not get better after.. I actually felt worse and had to take Advil)...she pulled out a chart of prices and I was beside myself. A 3 month session of all the classes you can take and self discovery (not specific on what that is) was over $700.00! I won't even go into what a year cost with a bunch of add ons that I was not looking for when I first went in. Without the self discovery and just for the classes, 3 month was $420.00!!!!!... I was just looking for 2-3 classes a week which would roughly come to no more than $200.00 per month if one were to be fair. I spoke to a physician in town right away that practices Eastern medicine and is very knowledgeable... He explained that all the extra services could be obtained for a fraction of the price with many Eastern medicine providers in town and they are just as good if not better... I can easily afford their prices, yet they were not aware that I am very careful with my spending and do not just sign up because something sounds interesting or different... and I would have to wear a uniform that they put together... what??? How is that relaxing?... please let me wear my own work out clothes. I will go ahead and sign up for Hatha Yoga classes at another place... I went in looking for relaxation, not a drainage of my wallet and anxiety due to disbelief over the exorbitant pricing.. Very disappointing. As an added problem, when I left after going there for the initial evaluation session, which had nothing to do with yoga, yet rather massage and pressure points, the middle of my chest (sternum) was hurting like crazy that afternoon and it was very painful the next day to touch. My physician was very upset, explaining that anytime one presses on your sternum the way this lady did, because of all the nerves in that area, it will naturally hurt! I am disgusted by this place... they really do not know what they are doing as do not inform you of potential problems like 'I am going to hurt you' and overall, just a total rip off. I only went to this place once back when it was called Dahn Yoga. I paid for an eval which was a mixture of counseling and energy balance. I got really creeped out by the guy. The place felt a bit like a cult and the prices were not cheap. I'm not sure what type of yoga was that but it wasn't your mainstream yoga. Not coming back. read more

I was recently visiting some friends in Vegas and I asked if we could drop into this studio to take a class. The staff smiled a lot and were really helpful when we arrived. Class started out with high energy warm-up exercises, and then went into some slower, deeper stretching. Then we exercised to some drum rhythms. So fun! My brain felt clear and light afterwards. At the end we did meditation, and then at the very end, we were served tea (they said it was traditional tea made of corn, so yummy). I felt really comfortable, but at the same time energized by the end. I definitely hope I can come back here when I visit Vegas again. Great class! read more

I admit, I should have researched Dahn yoga before going. But I received a coupon for a free class, so my sister and I decided to give it a shot. THIS IS NOT YOGA. We arrived and were brought into a private room where a woman stumbled through an awkward presentation on a dry erase board, where she tried to explain something about the sky and the land and our organs all being connected. Then, "yoga" class started, with a lot of chest poundig, and a stranger walking around the room, massaging the students' shoulders (without asking, by the way). I have no idea what this was, but there was absolutely no way I could tolerate an hour of this. My sister and I left after about 1/2 hour, and that was about 29 minutes longer than we should have stayed. Horrible. read more

I just saw the review that somebody wrote a few weeks ago. I totally don't feel that way at all. I just started going back after taking a year off and I can really feel the difference that it makes. When I was going before, I was able to really relax my mind and focus on my body. I released so much tension and anxiety through the different types of classes - it was really worth it to me! Now that I'm going back again, I can feel the benefits right away. I am living in the most stressful time of my life right now and I really believe that if i continue taking classes, not only will my health and physical condition improve, but I will be able to clear my mind from the clutter and stress long enough to manage it myself. I've tried other things and this is the most natural and effective and FUN cure I know. Who says yoga has to be the same boring poses over and over again? By the way, I tried some of the other yoga styles recently and it doesn't even compare. You can stretch different ways and feel energy different ways. The other styles were too serious and boring for me! This is a Korean style, not Indian and not Hot, so I would expect it to be different. Open your mind and try it and after you feel the results, THEN compare! It works for me and I'm happy :). read more
