Here's what I like about New Skin: 1) Effective laser - I have tried 3-4 different lasers in the past and have had little to no success (I have have medium-dark skin with very dark hair). After just one treatment on my underarms I have almost stopped shaving! 2) Great staff - Taslim and her technicians are very professional. They are always making sure that you are comfortable and that you're not in any pain. Other places I've been make me feel really rushed and unimportant (especially when you use a Groupon like I did), but these guys are great! 3) No trouble getting in touch to book an appointment - Really easy to get an appointment, they will always get back to you. I've heard horror stories about places that sell tons of Groupons and then don't respond to phone calls. This is not that kind of place. 4) Virtually pain free - Overall the treatment is very comfortable, and since this is the type of laser that they keep in constant movement, you don't get that one 'flash' of pain. It just feels warm over your skin, and they will always ask if it's too warm for you and make adjustments if necessary. The only drawback with this place is that the office is kind of strange, the room you get the treatment in is really nice and clean but the waiting room is a little odd and there's no receptionist, you just have to wait until they're done with their last patient (so far they've been really punctual). Other than that I have no complaints at all. Just know that you're not going to walk into a super swanky spa or anything, the office is minimalist but it's clean and it gets the job done. I started with my underarms and have already added on my legs!! Can't wait for my next treatment.

It looked like a shady dentists office, with a single massage chair, bad lighting, dirty and old furniture, and overall not a place I would have ever wanted to find myself in. Why this was not advertised on the website is something I'm still thinking about? If you moved locations from King to Queen street, maybe your patrons should know? The lady who did my facial seems inexperienced. I didn't quite like the products used, the tools (for the infra current, extraction etc), or something as basic as eye coverings or head band. My hairline on the front was doused in product since she didn't use a head band, and used a tissue paper of some sort. She spent the entire hour and a half adjusting the paper. Extractions we're not performed well. She had a blade of some sort which she rubbed on my face multiple times seemingly to get rid of the dry skin. I left the spa disappointed in the ambience, the service, and the quality of the facial. This was also the most expensive facial I've ever done (150$ and above?), for the worst experience of my life. I would like to hear back from the owners on what kind of business you're running, and why there was no transparency in the whole process.

As we each entered our treatment rooms, there was a confusion about who was getting what treatment which threw me off a little bit but we ended up receiving the correct services. My facial was done by Ana who was friendly without being too chatty. My room was almost completely dark and since we were coming from a massage, this almost put me straight to sleep. I thought the facial was on a little shorter side but I was told that it was because I did not need extractions. Overall, the facial felt really nice. My skin definitely felt very well hydrated. However, I went to use the washroom, I could see that my eye make up was not all removed as I could see remains of my eyeliner. Hmm...so much for a deep cleansing that supposedly took place before slathering on a bunch of hydrating salves. My sister's microdermabrasion was also similar. It was her first time trying it out so we had nothing to compare it to but the staff who performed the procedure told my sister that Camden Spa does maybe 5 -6 microdermabrasions a month. I guess that doesn't put them at the most experienced category. Either way, my sister seemed happy with the result of her treatment. I would say my overall experience at Camden spa was just okay. At the time there was a special for a well-aging facial, so I called to book. It was very easy. Youyoung, the spa's owner introduced herself and was so kind. The spa is located on the South side of the street on the second floor, above a Portugese restaurant. The stairwell up to the 2nd floor has nice touches such as stones along the staircase and smells like incense. When I entered, I was greeted by YouYoung who provided me with some slippers and brought me to the back to fill out my health forms and to talk about the treatment. The facial room was so relaxing. She had beautiful spa music, a trickling water fall, dim lighting and quiet surroundings. I was very comfortable and the bed was warm and cozy. YouYoung was very sweet and while she explained things, she didn't talk too much so that the experience was relaxing. I loved the pads that she used for cleansing. They were so soft! I was going to ask her what she used, and was surprised when I checked out she already had them on the counter to let me take home to use myself for up to 4 months! Her massage during the facial, as well as the arms, legs and shoulders was heavenly. It was the perfect amount of pressure. I find sometimes estheticians are too soft with the massages. We chatted afterwards and she told me how she studied Korean massage techniques in Korean and that's how she could tell where my stress and tension was. She really knows her stuff. The other thing I loved was that she really customizes the facial to what your skin needs at the time rather than following the same treatment for everybody. I even asked her afterwards which facial would be best now that she has seen my skin. She told me how it depends on the time of year and my skins needs, so that she will customize whenever I come. I rebooked a package of 3 facials right then and there. My face looked and felt so hydrated and refreshed for days afterwards. I can't wait to come back!

I purchased two vouchers for 12 treatments. I was told that my results would be excellent as my hair is dark, but my skin is light. I had the same technician every time except for my last visit and she was very good about my often high sensitivity and the fact that the treatments were often quite painful for me. Scheduling an appointment was never difficult and they always called me a day ahead to remind me of appointments. The real difficulty that I had was their location. I wasn't careful about looking at the location when I bought the vouchers and since they' re pretty far uptown and off the direct subway line it was a bit of a pain to get there especially if the bus was crowded or the weather was bad.This is not really there fault, but if you live downtown, it's not an ideal location. At one point, when I was halfway through my treatments, they did pull me aside and give me the sales pitch about buying more sessions, but at that point I could no longer afford any more and I really just wanted to be done with the treatments as they were painful. A year later I have minimal regrowth on my underarms. Apparently, results are never permanent and repeated treatments are necessary for completely permanent removal. I still shave, but maybe every two weeks to remove stray hairs and that's fine with me. I understand that some spas have pain free hair removal machines. I might consider going back to another, more convenient place if the price were right. But for what I paid for this package and the results I received, I'm quite satisfied and I think they did decent job.
