Outstanding yoga studio! Tucked quietly in the back of one of the shopping centers in Oak Grove…read more(behind Napoleon's) this dream of a yoga studio offers great classes in the hatha, yin, restorative, meditation vein of things. So lovely to see a non-chain yoga studio. Well designed space with a calming aesthetic. Teachers are friendly, deeply knowledgeable, and great at working around whatever your body is doing that day...whether chronic or not. The clothes in the store are also great....will succumb to temptation soon.

The instructors here are VERY good. It's almost like you get personal yoga training as the instructors give ample 1:1 attention throughout the class, are welcoming and encouraging. I also really love the space. It's very large and plenty of room to spread out facilitates the use of props since you a lot of space for your supports which are available there. It's not uncommon to have a blanket, bloster, strap, blocks, a thick blanket, and sometimes add a chair and ball, AND use all of them. They really focus on getting circulation flowing everywhere. Highly recommend for anyone from new yogis to people wanting to master more complicated intermediate postures.

I hate to leave this review as I have benefited a lot from my Orangetheory membership. I have been…read morea member since 2021 at the Northlake location, and unfortunately, the experience has shifted so much that I quite often feel uncomfortable and unwelcome here. I rarely visit this location anymore because the atmosphere has become so cold. Initially, there were coaches here that I truly enjoyed--they were friendly, engaging. Now, the experience is different. Many coaches don't speak or offer corrections; they are cold and their classes feel equally cold and sometimes awkward . In fact, there is now only one coach at this location that I will attend a class for, as my experiences with the others have been consistently not great. I have joked that I go to the Orangetheory when I want to not be called out or invisible during a workout. The front desk experience is just as disappointing. I walk in and am not acknowledged or greeted; the staff doesn't even look up from their computers, and the same thing happens when I walk out. As a long-term member, I have never been celebrated for a single milestone. I specifically asked for a photo of my last milestone to be sent to me so I could post it, and I never received it. With how much I pay for this membership and the loyalty I've shown since 2021, this is beyond disappointing. I'm not sure how much longer I want to be a member of Orangetheory, and specifically this location.

Nice studio! I took…read moreclass with Niles and it was great. The studio layout works and I didn't feel crowded on the weight floor. The waiting area is relatively large which is nice before a busy class. This studio assigns stations on a large white board- which was unique compared to other studios I've visited! I like that it simplified the process. Would visit again if I'm in the area!

I've been a CFC member for a little bit over a year - and absolutely love it!…read more Who should consider this gym: I think there is a range of fitness levels at this gym and a good mix of men and women, but think it is mostly focused on people who are just starting out Crossfit and don't want to feel intimidated, business people who are busy and need weekends / odd times to go to the gym (early am or late night), and people who aren't as focused on developing this as a competitive sport. Having said this, there are definitely a few ppl that are competition ready too, but if that is not for you there is no pressure. It's all abt having fun and being healthy. I guess what I am saying is that this is a more laid back gym than other Crossfit gyms. For me - the above is a good fit, but it is not for everyone. Why I love it: I LOVE the people. I love the community. I feel safe. I don't feel judged. I feel heard. This is a very welcoming gym, so we always have drop ins and people who hear abt it through word of mouth. Saturday's there is one WOD (workout of the day) so is a good opportunity for a lot of people to catch up and connect. There are lots of social activities we do together, planned and sporadic. Recently we've done Trivia nights / happy hour, hiking Stone Mtn and laser show watching, brunch etc. Programming: I have found the programming has changed over the last few months, for the better I think. They are tough, but can be scaled accordingly per each person's individual level. "Typically" we spend the first part of the workout working on a strength or skill, and the second part hyperventaliting to some timed exercise and praying to dear God that time moves quickly and or/ that we don't pass out, followed by laying in the fetal position on the floor until you can move again (Or is that just me???) CFC has also started to do Skills classes to work on tougher Olympic movements. The whole hour is focused on learning the basics and moving up into the tougher combined movements. Regardless of experience these are always very helpful. It seems like there is one every month on average. We also just kicked off an optional Fitness Challenge where over 30 ppl signed up and are sharing goals weekly to keep each other accountable. Logistics: There are classes from 6am to 7:30 pm with the busiest usually being at 5:30 pm (weekdays). There is usually 1 Sat class at 10am and 3 Sunday gym openings with 2 classes in the am and open gym in the afternoon. Check the website before coming to make sure there aren't changes - as they do observe some holidays. On average there are abt 6-8 people per class - though it varies widely. With some having ~15, and some having 2. There are a few Saturday's which have special events and we've had over 30 ppl turn out. But that isn't the norm. Feedback Steve is the owner and I have generally found him to be very open to feedback. Over the summer I personally approached him on a few points and he quickly addressed them. I think that is the beauty of this gym. You get to be a part of the community and help this be an even better place than it already is. Decisions: Ultimately - I would recommend you visit a few places to decide where is the right fit for you. We look forward to welcoming you to our gym if you decide to try it out or stop in!

This is the one & only place that I truly believe a 5 star rating just isn't enough! Where do I…read morestart.. This may be a long one so buckle up. First and foremost, I am just your average chick in the sense that I do NOT habitually workout, count my calories, meal prep, etc. I did have a membership at LA Fitness for 3 years (2015-2017) but was really only actively using it for 1 year so I finally made the decision to cancel it. I first step foot into this box July 4, 2017 when my boyfriend invited me to come to their post-WOD ("workout of the day") BBQ. I literally only came for the food, sorry! At the time I still held a membership at LA Fitness and had absolutely NO intentions of committing to another gym; Especially not CrossFit. But of course everyone urged me to give it a try and I left that day with the mindset that CrossFit was a cult (lol). [...Fast forward to March 2018 when the 2018 Reebok CrossFit Games were going on...] My boyfriend asked me to come to the box with him every Friday this month to record his WODs and so I did. On the last week of March, he spontaneously bought me a Groupon for their Fundamentals class ($32) and the rest was history... I've never found a fitness program that I enjoyed until I started CrossFit. Reasons why I love this program (and why it works for me): *Your WOD is created for you & released on their app (Wodify) 8PM the night before so you never have to pre-plan before coming. Plus, they're typically only 15-30mins long but it'll get your HR way up there bc of its style of HIIT. *You always work out in groups/classes which is motivating when you feel like stopping mid-workout but everyone around you is still going strong. Everyone is also so welcoming & full of encouragement! *If there is an exercise that you are unable to do, there is always a scaled version of it or some type of exercise you can do to work on those targeted muscles. *There is always a coach present to stretch you out as a group, ensure everyone warms up properly, & guide you throughout the WOD/correct your form if necessary. *They have a great sound system & nothing is better during a workout than music drowning out the sound of your pain. More about the Groupon Deal: Fundamental classes start at the beginning of every month. Classes are MWT @ 7:30PM for the first 4 weeks. You will then graduate to the intermediate class which you will be allowed to attend for the following 2 weeks and decide if you would like to purchase a membership. You get a cool swag bag for joining which includes free monthly body composition analysis at Max Nutrition. More about CrossFit Valitus: Classes are offered 6 days/week (Monday-Saturday) with M-F at 6AM, 7AM, 12PM, 4:30PM, 5:30PM, and 6:30PM and Saturday at 9AM or 10AM. Some Saturdays are partner workouts to which you're more than welcome to bring a friend/family member as long as they're familiar with the WOD's exercises. They're also open on Sundays at 12PM as an open gym so you can come and work on any exercise that needs improvement. Oh, did I mention you get access to Dynamo's Swim Club!? Lastly, there are currently 4 coaches and every single one of them is awesome in their own way. *Crystal--The owner and awesome fundamentals instructor *Art--The head coach who's great at making sure you're stretched out for you WOD and trains our triathlon team *Rene--Beast crossfitter who also holds flexibility and strength training classes a few times a week *Isa--Best WOD DJ and motivator since she Rx's just about every workout (sometimes 2-3x/day!) Whew, that was a long one but I warned you! I know CrossFit may seem intimidating and even scary to the average person but don't knock it till you try it. It's only been a little over 2 months for me and I've already seen changes within my body and PR'd more exercises than I could even count. I'll end off with this quote: "A year from now you will wish you had started today"
