I was looking for a new spray tan place and decided to check on yelp (what a surprise).... I found a few places with some eh reviews and then came across Body Connections - reviews were good with some yucky groupon ones thrown in. I've heard horror stories from business owners about groupon customers so I didn't pay any attention to them and just followed my gut. I followed the link to her website and checked her out - looked at pricing ......$25 per tan SAY WHAT?? $25 per tan. I immediately booked one on line. I arrived about 10 minutes early for my appointment and was greeted by Nadine the owner/tanning tech. She explained everything to me - how she tans - her formula - her background - how many years she's been there. Then she sprayed me. I've been to many spray tan places. Both organic and regular. This was BY FAR the BEST tan ever. Nothing weird on my hands and feet. NOTHING. My legs were a bit red so I texted her about it. She replied and told me not to worry. It will turn to brown - she was correct. My tan? It's flawless. It's $25 and FLAWLESS. I will be going every 7 days or so (depending on how it lasts) Amazing experience. read more

Could not be happier with my spray tans! The owner, Nadine, is personable and made me feel so comfortable right from the very beginning. She is by her own admission, "a little ocd" about applying her spray tans so that they come out looking even and natural. She mixes the colors herself and keeps a log of what you had done last so that she can re-create the same tan or tweak it to your liking for your next session. You can tell when someone has a passion for what they're doing and Nadine is the epitome of this. She takes pride in her work and her business. You can tell that she's a hard worker and cares about her clients. It's nice knowing that your money is going towards supporting a business like this. Horrible . I could not even schedule my appointments. I purchase a deal through living social in November to get a service scheduled in April with 3 cancellations in between, for fire department inspection, half service or no electricity reason. In the end I was offered my money back what I did get my money back, because knowing that they can't accommodate clients I can imagine what they can do inside the Spa . Don't use this Spa. Don't hesitate going to this place not only is Nadine amazing at her job she was born to spray tan she is one of the warmest and kindest people i have ever met. She takes a lot of pride in her work and she is very meticulous in her work. She makes you feel comfortable and makes the experience very enjoyable even though spray tanning can be a pain sometimes. Nadine really takes the time to get to know you and writes your color down that she sprayed you with for next time. She chats with you about what would be best for you and always gives the best advice and puts any worries at ease and she was very patient with any questions I had. I look forward to my appointments at Body Connections Spa. 30 minutes of rest / relaxation / meditation in the OxyPod are today's answer to Calgon. Nadine and her staff are kind and helpful. It is a small spa with one OxyPod. Common sense should tell you that if one person is late for their appointment, even by 10 minutes, it will throw the schedule off. To date, I've had approximately 8 appointments and waited no longer than 15 minutes. If I am pressed for time on an appointment day, I call ahead and ask how they are running. I am baffled by the consumer who doesn't think about the implications of an excellent Living Social or Groupon deal. No one can resist - I am paying 80% below the average cost for these sessions. I'd imagine that the same day I bought it 200 other people bought it too. Of course there will be an impact on the spa - like everything else, there will be "growing pains." It always works itself out and gets back on track, or on a different track all together. If you were treated poorly or cursed at, shame on them; however, if you are above waiting a few minutes, or taking charge of your own life by making a phone call, and having a bit of gratitude for a great deal, shame on you. read more

I bought a groupon deal for this Spa for 12 massages. I quickly set up an appointment online. I was super excited to go after work one night (it was the only time they had available) when I got there the woman who greeted me (not the owner) asked me what I needed. I told her I was there for an appointment, 6:30 oxypod. She told me that THEY were running behind and if I could wait. I was irked...I mean if you were running late why didn't you call your clients to let them know this? I told her I couldn't and if I could reschedule. She said sure and then asked me if I was a "Groupon Customer" I told her yes and she responded with "You Groupon people have been messing up the schedule lately" really nice thing to say to a potential new client. So she writes down a new time for me, she didn't know how to use the computer so she writes my time and date on a post-it....I asked her "will you remember my time since it's on a post-it?" and she goes "Oh yea, I do it all the time" I left and went home irritated. I receive an e-mail 2 days later asking me how I enjoyed my experience. I quickly wrote back (this was the owner who emailed me) I told her how I never got to experience anything and that I have a new date and time on Saturday February 11th, she quickly emailed me "I'm sorry but I have no times on Saturday, can you send me your time slot again" REALLY???? How is it that you as a company cannot keep track on client times!?! So I give her my new time, she says she will see me then. Today was the day I went to go into the spa...I show up and guess what? Lights are off, door is locked. You....have got.....to be kidding me..... So I went home now pissed off...I just want my refund. I never want to go back, even if they offered me a year of free services I wouldn't take it. Don't go to them, they are a cheap spa and this is why...there spa looks like a doctors office, they are hard to find, their owner clearly doesn't give a crap about her business or else she wouldn't let something like this happen twice let alone once. Stay far far far faaaaaaaar away. ***UPDATE*** Nadine called me to not apologize but to call me an F bomb or two- really nice lady she is... She said her father had a heart attack and that's why she didn't open the spa. Ok... so IF that's true which I highly doubt it is, you still call your clients. If you yourself don't call YOU get someone to call for you. If I received a phone call explaining what happened I wouldn't have been so angry but I was left hanging for the 2nd time with this spa. Nice place if you want a spa treatment in a basement! This place is awful! Atmosphere and attitudes. I got a Certificate as a gift, it took forever to book my appointment and they messed up my appointment twice and had to cancel on me. I had two certificates and after going there once I realized it was not worth my time to use my 2nd one. The owner clearly does not care about her business or her customers. There are a ton of other great Day Spas in the area that are not in a basement and the staff is nice and actually knows what they are doing or at least knows how to write down an appointment in a book. read more

I originally found body connections from an amazing Groupon deal. It was something like 3 spray tans for under 60$. It was advertised as organic and I thought to myself ok this has got to be too good to be true. And for once it wasn't!!!!! The owner, nadine is absolutely amazing. She does the best spray tan I have ever had. She even meets with you first and matches her tanning solution to your own skin tone. I'm usually body conscious and she doesn't make it weird at all. I am a consistent client at body connections spa, and I enjoy all the services this spa has to offer. I always get top service and the employee's are very kind and welcoming. During one of my podding sessions recently, I heard a client come in past her appointment, and I know this because my session in the oxygen pod had just ended. The only reason I heard this client come in was because she was yelling at the woman behind the desk in a very rude tone and then I heard a door slam. I was very disappointed with the matter in which the owner runs her business. First I could not get a hold of a live person to make an appointment so I had to do so on line. Then within 2 wks, my first appointment was cancelled and on the 2nd try no one was at the spa (door locked and lights out) at my scheduled time. I waited 25 minutes and nothing. Later I received a message from owner apologizing and offering me a free massage asap from her cell. I first got the chance to meet Nadine through a living social deal, The first couple of sessions went so well we decided to get a package with her for more pod sessions she even offered a free pod. My mother even started a facial treatment. To her credit I did like the small personal space it was very serene. However hurricane sandy happened and everything went south. We were unable to book anything or get in contact with Nadine and when we did she either canceled or we couldn't make it. We were finally able to get an appointment in June!!! We were about 20 mins late when we got to the door their was a note saying sorry ladies you were late and I had to take a customer please reschedule. We were 20Mins late for our first appointment but on time for the other one and she still cancelled. We then received an email saying we would no longer be able to return for pod sessions and she was keeping our money!!!!!! she said it was due to us being late and previously canceling. Never was their a contract or were we informed their was a certain time to claim your pods or were we told if you canceled more then once you would be asked to not come back or get re in burst. The lady didn't even give us a courteous warning!! she had the nerve to say she was being courteous by having her accountant not charge us a cancelation fee! I'm so upset and cant help but feel scammed, this lady she seemed so nice and honest. We had four pods left each, that's 8 pod sessions we missed out on and paid out of pocket!!!!! My mom also missed out because she couldn't finish her facial treatments. We decided to just let Nadine keep the money because Karma will come back at her 5 times worse. So if your considering doing business I suggest you don't do anything for the long haul and don't pay until you get your services!!!!!! when she wants to be rude trust me she turns into a different person! This place is a joke. Please do not purchase groupons and/or gift certificates. The owner is totally unreliable to keep appointments for massage or any other treatment they offer. Body Connections Spa has a disconnected phone since 2014 summer. So you can never reach the owner and/or her "so called" staff. No Phone is a tell tale sign that it is a poor functioning business. Me and two other friends of mine have gift certificates for Spa treatments and Pod sessions. We all scheduled our spa treatments at various times and months apart. All three of us were emailed by the owner on the day of our appointment saying that her grandmother died and/or her staff member has the flu therefore she had to cancel. This is BS! How many grandmothers does Nadine have? So you're going to tell me that every-time me and my two friends had appointments...your grandmother died....come on! It gets better...hold on for this one.....My friend had an appointment - received a confirmed email from Nadine @ Body Connections...my friend leaves early from work, shows up at the spa and IT'S CLOSED! Don't waste your money at this place. I had the Living Social Voucher for the massage and oxygen pod treatment. The spa itself is cozy clean and inviting. I was greeted by the owner who quickly processed my paperwork and led me to the pod where I was to begin my first treatment. It was kinda space agey but cool. There was aromatherapy and I just laid down and relaxed in the vibrating heated pod while soothing music played. I haven't had a decent nights sleep since I had kids so needless to say I took a well deserved nap. After the Pod session was over I was transitioned quickly to the massage therapy room where my hour long massage was heavenly!! Skilled with just the right amount of pressure. I purchased a living social deal for 4 spray tans and I have gotten two so far. Nadine is AMAZING...by far the best spray tan I've ever gotten. Both times I've gone there, I've gotten comments from my friends like "wow, you got a lot of sun this weekend, where did you go?"--everyone thinks it's a natural tan! I am very pale and it is nearly impossible for me to get any color naturally so I need to rely on spray tans. I finally got an message from the owner, Nadine, a week after my first message; claims she never got the message! She left me her cell phone and her email, promised that she "constantly" checks her messages and will immediately respond. Well, i emailed her AND left yet another voice mail message about 8 hours ago and still no response.To be fair, she agreed to honor my coupon past the expiration but why should I have to chase someone down to give them my money? Ok, that fact that they did not reply to me after i asked for my money back and it has been incredibly hard to get in contact with the spa altogether I am writing a bad review bout them. It is such a shame that some one can run a business like this and still make money. My aunt owned a spa and never one time when some one called did they get a voice mail with no response for days at a time and then told to contact through email. I am so disappointed as I really wanted to relax and be able to receive a massage that i paid for and was never able to make an appointment with their company. I tried contacting them at least a month before the date that i was requesting and because no one was available to take care of me I am out of luck because, as most people, I have a very complicated schedule and you were unable to accommodate me!
