Alfonso knows his stuff, and while I come to several classes a week, I have never ever had the same workout twice. Nothing boring, nothing mundane going on here. All exercise, fun and total joy every time I come. And good music! I used to dread coming to the gym, let alone dragging myself out of bed to exercise. Now, I look forward to coming to Merge to work out and never miss a chance to come. I can't believe I am saying it, but I really love working out thanks to Alfonso and his whole program. He's not just a great trainer, but he is a wonderful person who brings out the best in every person he works with. He is like a friend who encourages you to do great things because you want to do it, not because he is making you. The classes are reasonably priced, privates are even more reasonable. Working with someone of his caliber, he's a total steal. He's very particular about whom he choses to work with, so I feel very fortunate to be able to work with him. In the past year, Alfonso has helped me lose over 30 lbs and counting, all just diet and exercise... and I have had no trouble keeping it off. Still going... I have been to Equinox, LA Fitness, Zumba, Tracy Anderson and Yoga Works, Various Pilates Studios, I've tried all the programs I could think of to get fit and healthy, I have had endless trainers who promised they could make me thin and fit... Alfonso was the only one who actually kept me coming back to the gym and the only one who actually helped me lose the weight. I am stronger than I have ever been in my life. I am fitter than I have ever been in my life. I am healthier than I have ever felt and I really enjoy working out. Merge workouts are something special, you have to really want to do it to appreciate what Alfonso offers. When I started I could barely do a pushup on my knees.... now I can do at least 30 or more regular pushups no problem. I feel great, looking great, doing great... all thanks to Alfonso and Michelle. I feel like Merge is like an underground secret nobody knows about- it's seriously the best workout, but not for people who just like saying they workout but don't really want to do anything. This is not the kind of place where you go if you want to look at yourself in the mirror and take selfies ... if you want a real sweaty workout with some heavy breathing and the occasional cuss word because it's hard, this is it.

I've been going to my trainer for a few years so I was excited to see the new place he was training out of. The entrance is low key so don't miss it! There was a few metered street spots available or there's a neighborhood behind it on Colgate that had plenty of free street parking. The area around is nice, it's very close the The Grove so I went and shopped a bit after a good workout. My highlight was the ambience and the friendliness of the trainers. I'm a little self conscious when I workout and this place is personal enough that I felt really comfortable. Music is a variety but they took requests for genres. There's a Pilates area in the back and a little massage room. Also the aesthetics were soo pleasing. The lights were really good for pictures and very flattering. I don't love when gyms are all black and dark but this has a black modern vibe. I saw each trainer clean their equipment after they trained so that reassured me that everything was in fact clean. Bathrooms well stocked and there's a vending machine if you need some fuel. Will definitely be back!

I train with Paul and have been very impressed with his level of knowledge on fitness and nutrition. While we have just started working out together, Paul has shown himself to be completely flexible when it comes to scheduling. He is also very patient but pushes me to work very hard. The facility is clean and has tons of equipment to use which helps to keep things interesting. There is plenty of parking and the place is easy to find. In a land of trainers who want to be movie stars, I had a hard time finding a place (or person) where I felt 100% comfortable. The Fit Connection has surpassed my expectations and I am extremely happy that I found them! Both Paul and Donna run a great facility and I look forward to a long relationship with them both.
