You'll be pressured to continue sessions. If you don't, you'll be given unsolicited advice that will make you uncomfortable.

I am compelled to leave this extremely negative review about my experience at this gym. I have been…read morea loyal member for several years, and this place has always been convenient and one of my favorites. However, I recently encountered a shocking situation. After a long break, I decided to come back and invited my friends to join me. One of them had an active membership, while the other did not. The friend who had a membership agreed to work out with us and guide us, even though she is not a professional trainer, just our friend. When I brought my other friend who was interested in becoming a member and joining me regularly, she was not allowed to enter because she had not registered online, and there was no one available on-site to assist her. This was despite the fact that she had a guest pass from me. We tried to resolve the situation on the spot, but instead of showing understanding, the receptionist -- a young Spanish-speaking woman of average height with long black hair, who appeared to be new and unfamiliar with me -- behaved very rudely. She refused to help, delayed us with the registration process, and made everything unnecessarily complicated instead of assisting my friend in becoming a member. This resulted in a very unpleasant experience for us. Moreover, the following day, I was denied access to my regular Zumba class with a different instructor, despite being a long-time member. The reason given was that the previous day we had worked out with our friend who was guiding us. I was extremely upset, and the situation escalated to the point where the police were called to make me leave the gym. This humiliating experience put me in a very uncomfortable and embarrassing position. I am deeply disappointed. If anything like this happens again, I am prepared to pursue legal action, as this situation is unacceptable and has left a very negative impression on me. If I do not receive a formal apology, they will lose three loyal clients, as well as future potential clients I was planning to bring with me.

The first thing I'm going to talk about, is the incredible spa that they have in Beverly Hills…read moreEquinox! Where do I begin... Let's begin with Jackie! She's the spa manager and also the best aesthetician I've worked with! Ive had three facials with her, the Hydra-facial every time. She makes you feel very comfortable, greets you with a huge smile, asks you detailed questions about your skin, and most importantly makes it a fun and relaxing experience. At the same time, she takes her work very seriously. Both as an aesthetician and a spa manager! That's why she's so good at what she does and makes your face look beautiful! She has recommended me products, which I bought and use daily, and gave me a very detailed list of what to use and when to use it. People think I am 7 to 8 years younger ever since I started with her. I'm not joking! I called the spa once because I forgot which products to use during the day or night, she graciously answered every question and was very patient. And when I see her around the gym, she's always smiling and making me feel very welcome. A very positive person! So if you're thinking about getting a facial, go nowhere other than the spa in Beverly Hills Equinox and ask for Jackie! Kris, who is a masseuse at the spa, gave me probably the best massage I've ever had! I've had two massages with her, and I will continue booking them. I injured my back, and after the massage I was cured! She also used cupping on me. That helped a lot as well to relieve toxins and help anxiety and stress. I originally booked a 50 minute massage with her, and extended it to 110 minutes! Yes, she's that good! So book a massage with Kris immediately! You must train with Rafael!! I've had six or seven sessions with him, and I'll continue booking more! He's very good at what he does, takes it very seriously. But also, jokes around and makes it fun! You have to have fun while you're working out and make it a great experience. Rafeal does just that! And even after six sessions with him, I can see a difference physically! Another person who is constantly complementing me and making me feel welcome at the gym! And even if I'm not training with him, he helps me out with my form and how much weight I should be lifting. Train with Rafael! You won't regret it. Jeremy is another incredible trainer! He's always motivating me, and keeping a positive attitude at the gym! Also have had great stretching sessions with him as well! And yet again, another person that likes to have fun and train at the same time! Someone who takes his work seriously as well! Train with Jeremy as well! Another manger, La, is always smiling and making jokes with me. She takes the time to talk to me if I'm walking by or on the treadmill , if I have a question, or just a casual conversation. She's always super positive, always says to me, "you're killing it today!" Thank you La! You are seriously doing a great job! Don't pass Ruth at the front desk! She makes you feel right at home when you walk in! I'll sit and chat with her for 10 to 15 minutes after my workout and we'll talk about current events and have a good laugh! Very cool girl! There is NO high pressure sales with any staff member at the gym! I'm sure I'm leaving plenty of people out, but unfortunately can't credit everyone. But everyone deserves a praise! So the bottom line... I've never had a bad experience with anyone at Beverly Hills Equinox! Not with the trainers, the staff, the managers, everyone at the spa... Everything has been phenomenal!! I enjoy going to that gym! And that's a very important thing. You really don't wanna look at your exercise routine as a chore or something you don't look forward to. It's frustrating to see people complain about such petty things at this gym in previous reviews. We're not performing brain surgery here people, so hopefully everyone can lighten up! I hope that my review will help people sign up for this gym or if you're not happy, give it a second chance. Thanks again, Beverly Hills Equinox!

I would consider the Beverly Hills Equinox my home gym for a few years now. I've been a member…read moresince before Covid and used to REALLY love this gym. I still love it and it holds a few special memories of my office literally sharing a wall with the gym and at exactly 4pm the music bumping from a workout class, to going early in the mornings in a suit, quickly changing, getting my workouts and sauna in, showering and then walking straight to my office down the hall. It was very convenient for me and I was in some of the greatest shape of my life at one time. I think this place was at its peak when it had Oliver Cafe joined with it and they would serve smoothies and food. I would sometimes take a break and grab a quick smoothie and go back to my office. I will say I like the gym and layout a little more than the Encino Location and it feels more spacious. The staff are very nice but the trainers will hound you in the gym and call you nonstop and that's where Encino location tops this one. I love the sauna room, the eucalyptus towels and the showers and locker area is always clean. They have great customer service and the quality of amenity's are top notch compared to other gyms I've been to. Between Encino and Beverly Hills I'm definitely choosing this one for environment and energy but Encino for privacy, and a nice quiet relaxing workout. However, I have taken a tour of the Woodland Hills one and that one seems super legit! This is my home though. Please get another restaurant or smoothie shop in this location soon! At $40 a month or so this membership includes classes, the option for personal training sessions, showers (with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash), combination lockers, towel service, and even those Peloton bikes. Cool is a theme here. Seen as a Equinox-light version, it is located on the lower level between the 2029 and 2049 buildings adjacent from the Starbucks, Trimana, and Mickey Fine. I have enjoyed being a member, and the appeal that it is open 24/7. While this doesn't serve as my main gym, I think it is a comfy option that is far better than the poorly-ventilated David Barton's that was across the street. At the same time, this gym isn't really busy except after work and because it's membership is limited. They have state of the art equipment including those Peloton bikes, and 2 types of treadmills. Weights are minimal, but all the basics and a little more are there. It's a good small gym but the question has become whether to use a close-to-home gym or this one. It certainly will likely be nice, unless opt to pay over $200 for an Equinox membership or don't mind a place with a little drab.

The towels are the tiniest, cheapest ones you could imagine- corporate obviously cheaped out on every amenity - even the hairdryer cord is too short to comfortably dry your hair- shampoo/conditioner horrible quality, too. There is a lack of sufficient cleaning stations in the gym as well- they only have a couple of spray disinfectant bottles and paper towel stations- not enough for all stations, so you literally NEVER see anybody spraying off machines after you use them- it's really gross- at Crunch in WEHO they had santizing wipe stands literally EVERYWHERE and every person cleaned their machine off after every use...so clearly the morale/cleanliness standard and culture at THIS gym and franchise is severely lacking. All the staff are just typical gym bros that couldn't care less about your experience or service and are just there to make sales. My trainer was not a great communicator, and each session was basically him having me use the same machines every time and only half paying attention - he'd mention how I was his "eighth client" of the day and making lots of money- and it literally just became me paying $166 bucks a SESSION for him to take me to all the same equipment stations and do the same exercises while he half pays attention..nothing personalized about it at all- just another sale for his day. He even mentioned how tons of people kept stealing parts of the machines at the gym and it was a huge problem.. so clearly not the greatest vibe in terms of people attending this gym either. If you want to have a guest join you, they have to fill out a lengthy form very single time they come with you even if they've been there before- also super irritating. Their app for training scheduling is also broken- no way to respond to messages you'll receive. Cancelling was obviously not easy because why would it be lol, and when I canceled my training, the manager didn't even ask me if there was a reason why, so I had to bring the topic up and give my feedback on my trainer, and he literally couldn't have cared less by the sound of his response- these people don't care. Horrible vibes all around- I always left this gym irritated - so sad they closed Crunch in West Hollywood for THIS to take it over :( I also sent them a SUPER thoughtful, detailed email when they sent out a survey asking for feedback on the gym with all of this included^ and they sent back a so obviously AI-generated response, which proves to me that they truly don't care, so I hope this review can spare other people thinking of signing up here to not waste their money and look elsewhere :)

If you're visiting and not a member, you do have to fill out a liability/waiver form and then you walk down the hall to get to the gym. . The locker rooms are on the first floor, the men's LR is labeled, "John" & the women's is labeled, "Jane". The space is colorfully designed and has a sleek, curvature aesthetic. Picture arch entry ways, gold oval-shaped mirrors, plush throne chairs & neon decor lights. . There are several levels and the floral carpeted stairs lead to a lounge, a room with weights and exercise machines, and another long hall that will take you to the treadmills, ellipticals, and stairclimbers. The lockers come with dial locks, but they are tricky to use and no instructions on how to were posted. I kept mine unlocked and all of my belongings were present post workout. A few broken machines (minor things broken, but still) that don't seem to ever get fixed. I also dislike most of the seat covers since it's fabric so it soaks in everyone's dirty sweat with no way to clean it off. Lastly, I really think the open-air treadmill area is a horrible idea. You are forced to breath in a bunch of smog from rush hour Santa Monica Blvd traffic during your run, and you end up coughing and feeling less healthy after your workout (the first for me). I also really dislike the culture here. The music is extremely loud where the top noise-canceling headphones and music can't drown it out. Too many people don't rerack their weights, leave their dirty towels and wipes on equipment (worse than Golds, 24hr, LA Fitness), and too many flamboyant guys working out with no shirts (not something you should expect at this price-level).

Working out at Easton feels like being part of a long tradition in Los Angeles. Even though the equipment isn't as new or exciting as other places and "it doesn't have air conditioning!" as everyone LOVES to say, nothing beats working out within Easton's beautiful brick walls, amongst vintage windows that catch a refreshing cross-breeze and dumbbells that look like they were carried by strong men in the 1940's.
