I filled out the "Request Appointment" form on their website because it clearly indicated they were accepting new patients. After waiting three weeks without receiving any response, I finally called to make sure my request hadn't somehow been missed. The person who answered confirmed that they had, in fact, received my message. They simply chose not to respond because they supposedly weren't accepting new patients at the time. That's frustrating enough, but it's even more concerning that their website said the exact opposite. And, coincidentally, when I called, they were suddenly accepting new patients again. A simple email saying, "We're not accepting new patients right now" would have taken less than a minute and would have been the professional, courteous thing to do. Instead, they left a prospective patient waiting for three weeks with no acknowledgment whatsoever. If a healthcare practice can't be bothered to respond to a basic appointment request, I have very little confidence in trusting them with something as important as my health. No thank you. read more

After months of avoiding physical therapy because of a past experience that didn't help, I finally decided to try again. I came across Renew PT while researching and was drawn in by the great reviews and the Pilates reformer--I'd always wanted to try one. My hip pain wasn't typical, but Cindy really took the time during my first visit to figure out where it was actually coming from. By my second appointment, she already had a much more targeted plan in place for me, which I really appreciated. I'm not the most patient person, so it meant a lot that I started noticing improvement within just a few weeks. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming. Check-in is quick and easy on the tablet at the front, and I love how convenient everything is, appointment reminders are super helpful, and it's really simple to reschedule or communicate via text. Cindy helped me several years ago when she was at RA Physical Therapy, and changed my life. She did incredible work, and also introduced me to the foam roller and taught me ways I can help myself when I have flare ups. When my triangle of death (neck/shoulder/back crisis causing excruciating pinched nerve) returned late last year, it was debilitating. I couldn't move without screeching or cursing. I found this office through my insurance and when I saw all of the 5-star reviews I was so excited! I've had two knee surgeries and found out I need a third. The PT I went to before was AMAZING but sadly not covered by my current insurance. So I tried Renew. First of all, I was very taken aback that when you call them, it goes to a call center in the Philippines. They don't pick up most of the time, and you need to leave a message. It was even more off-putting when I showed up to my appointment and everyone ignores you. You need to check in with the screen, and then the outsourced agent in the Philippines pops up to check you in and take your payment. They require saving your card for future payments, but because they are outsourced, my AMEX won't allow the payment to go through because it looks like fraud! AMEX won't even process payments through a link they sent me via invoice. I had to eventually pay through PayPal. As far as the care, I was pretty disappointed. They do not do warm ups at all. My exercises hurt. The aide there most days is an intern who is very sweet but very green. She doesn't adjust form or help with modifications. She's just not experienced enough. She's still in her undergrad. I really like Dr. Leah and Dr. Nicole, as well as an aide named Charlie. But the treatment plan felt incomplete. No warm up, painful exercises with an aide, and then ice. They cap your appt to one hour. I'm used to much more hands on care with a warm up that gives you exercises that don't cause pain. I'm also used to more modalities to alleviate pain and inflammation, like ultrasound, stim, massage, etc. after your exercises. I've also never had my treatment capped like that before. I feel that this office is for mild injuries. I would never trust this place for post op. When I asked why they don't do warm ups, they said the exercises aren't intense enough to need a warmup. Yet they want to activate my quads and glutes, but not warm me up. They actually finished my exercises with a very common warm up in Pilates. I've been an avid Pilates girl for 10 years. The treatment seemed completely backwards. It seems like the doctors who work there also don't stay long. Besides the owner, the doctors there are new and the other doctors that are on the website no longer work there. There is something to be said about that. The last thing that really turned me off was that they have a strict 48 hour cancellation policy or they charge you. That is absolutely insane to me when dealing with injured clients. If someone is super flared up that day, they should be able to call that morning and say that they are in too much pain to come in without being charged. THAT is truly caring for patients. When I asked about this, they said that it's all handled my the outsourced team and they are very "by the book." They said that they would ask the owner if she'd make an exception and I'd get a response right away, but I never heard back from the owner or anyone about it. There are really amazing PT places out there that changed my life. Unfortunately, this facility is very subpar with unethical policies, and I wouldn't trust them working on me again. read more

I love Cindy who is the owner and a hands-on physical therapist. I used to go her when she was at RA PT on La Cienega. Unlike RA, the scheduling is easy and they are good about not changing your appts. I also love that they have a mechanical traction machine which is key to alleviating my cervical stenosis issues. I have an extensive history of neck pain. I only found Renew PT bc they were the only PT local to me that took insurance! Not many of the surrounding clinics in BH take insurance, and if they do, they aren't as quality as Cindy! I had questions, they answered. I needed extra motivation, they supplied it. When I started coming to Renew I was having so much pain in my shoulder it was getting in the way of my day to day activities. I was worried there wouldn't be any exercise I could do without being in a ton of pain. So glad I was wrong!! Cindy is my therapist. She was so gentle and found exercises that I could actually do that gave me the strength and mobility back. My pain went away within the first week!!
